This journal is a place for me to vent, to share, and to catch up with friends. Undoubtedly friends and strangers whom I don't know
are probably reading my words - for all whom I know and don't know, you may read but never, ever bring up with me what I write about on this journal unless I bring it up with you.
This place is sacred and I'm allowing you to enter it, to know what I choose to show of myself through this page, but don't assume you really know me or what I'm about, and don't assume you can talk to me about what I write.
Respect me, my wishes and my writings - or leave. :)
This will be my last entry before I go to India! I'll be back on April 23rd! I have GREAT news! MY CD IS DONE!!!!! I mean my songs are all finished engineering and now when i come back from India, I'll be doing a photo shoot, then have the cd mastered and duplicated and voila - it'll be READY!!! YAAAAAAY :D I can't believe it's finally done!! My sister Mili called me up while I was on the train and said my song 'Hush' popped into her head and she had to call and tell me how beautiful it was and how awesome it was that MY song was so catchy that it came into her head :) hehehehe :) she's a sweetheart :)
I can't write much because I don't have a lot of time but I wanted to send hugs out to my friends here memory, jade, sarah beth, caroline, lydz, stephanie, lorie, Lady(jeanne), Ebe, Susan and everyone who I didn't list *BIG HUGS* :) I'll see if I can write from India (doubt it) but I'll be back with tons of stories and pictures!!
Before I leave, 2 funny comic strips this week I had to share:
From Garfield today - truer words have not been spoken all day! ;) I LOVE naps and they DOOOOO take u!
And from my fave Rose is Rose - rainy days ARE best spent curled up inside (in bed) with a good book or a good manga like Kodocha and watching the rain streak the window panes.
Ok my friends, see you when I come back from India :)

07:58 a.m.
back from L.A. and early at work!
good morning everyone :) After an all night flight I'm back in NYC and at work! It's so empty and quiet here - it's eerie! I think the first steady steam of people don't arrive until 8:30 a.m.! I had a good flight back - as always I hugged Ricky extra long and gave him one last kiss and glance before I headed to security on Jet Blue....it always hits me hard that I'm leaving someone I love and he's not coming with me when I board the plane.....I managed to sleep almost the entire flight back thanks to my trusty brown leopard-print neck-flight-pillow! That thing helped me to REALLY sleep well! All I needed were eye shades and ear plugs and I would've slept like a baby! Got off the flight this morning and hopped onto the AirTrain and after figuring out how to get onto the right train to get to Jamaica station to take the train into Penn Station I arrived VERY fast and had breakfast at Starbucks (their fruit/bread/cheese breakfast thing) and my white chocolate mocha - non-fat, no-foam, no-whip and de-caf although today I got it with caffeine to keep me up at work) and picked up the morning's free newspapers (amNewYork and METRO - Tiger Woods won some golf game - woo hoo!) and here I am.
Yesterday was FABULOUS!!! We got up early and went HIKING!!! We went to the Santa Monica mountains (where I want to build my mansion one day I think!) and my GOD what a hike we had! We did over 4 miles in total I think and i thought my calves would give out - so much up-hill hiking! We saw waterfalls and climbed to this HIGH peak where we saw ALL of L.A., Westwood, and much of the beach coast line from the Santa Monica pier to Manhattan Beach and Marina Del Rey I think. I could see all the way out the Pacific Ocean. It was SO FREAKIN BEAUTIFUL!!! We took a LOT of pictures and I'll post them all as soon as Ricky sends me them!
After hiking, I changed into my new black bikini and slipped on white capris pants and a pink terry-cloth spaghetti-strap tube/tunic top (to which Ricky replied upon seeing me "You're way too good for me" ;) hahaha he's such a sweetheart) and we headed to the BEACH!! We spent a little over an hour there cause it was WINDY as heck and it got cold towards 3pm - but boy did the sun feel good! We then went for a late lunch/early dinner at this place called BUCA's in Pasadena where we had bruchetta, tomato and spinach salad with spiced pecans and topped with little pieces of some kind of cheese (it was SO delicious), white wine (the house wine Chablis which I LOVEEEEEEEEE because it's a fruity white wine - love fruity white wines) and a main entree of veal - which I didn't like when I remembered veal is baby cow and promptly stopped eating it! But overall everything was FABULOUS! We had the Bella Festa for dessert - 2 BIG chocolate cakes topped with vanilla and chocolate ice cream, caramel and chocolate sauce, and nuts! MY GOD it was delicious :)
We drove back and I showered and packed and we got ready and left for the return flight to Long Beach - hardly ANY traffic! Once I had to miss a day of work because I missed my return flight due to horrible freeway traffic we were stuck on but not tonight - everything was smooth sailing.
I had a wonderful and relaxing weekend - it's such a great feeling to hop on a flight and fly to the other end of the nation and be in another city just like that - I was in one of my favorite cities, seeing my favorite buildings, and sites and going to my fave places - just like that - I feel sorry for people who never get out of NYC and don't get to experience and live life elsewhere - they're missing out on so much. LOVE L.A. SOOOOO much...wish I could afford to go every other weekend....I miss it and Ricky now......I'm bleary-eyed but still look good I think. Well been writing for over 15 minutes - am going to read the morning newspapers and settle in for work now.
This week I have to pack and get ready for INDIA! I leave Thursday night!! Will be gone until the 23rd! I hope I get some kind of internet connection there cause my email is gonna run amuck. Dude they turned on the A.C. here....are they crazy? It's 50 degrees out there! Ok off to work - see ya guys from home tonight - hopefully with pics!

writing from Los Angeles
greetings from L.A. :) LOL! I am feeling a ton better tonight! After not listening to Oblivion since Wednesday I listened to it again tonight and I don't know why I was so down - the song is beautiful - there are 2 or 3 places where it needs to be changed but it wasn't the ordeal I thought it was. That's what lack of sleep will do to you! THANK YOU GOD. Whew. I'm so glad it was more a result of lack of sleep and nerves and my own anxiety I think. I'm SO HAPPY!! My song Oblivion is beautiful!!! YAAAHHOOOOOO! Although one thing I learned - and I have to accept - there are songs on this demo that I write and make which won't be as beautifully put together or sounding as others and, as a result, won't be AS loved as others but as long as I'm happy and love them, that's enough and if, God willing, someone at a record label likes me and the songs, something magical will happen to make the songs SO perfect! Right now, they're all so VERY VERY CLOSE - SO CLOSE :) And for that much I am SO greatful and SO VERY HAPPY :) I have been lucky to have found wonderful and talented musicians to work with who have given me the best with this demo - only HUSH left to perfect and that's it - my demo will be ready.....God please help me make this happen...please make it all happen and make this big dream of mine come true. Amen.
It's late and I need to sleep - got here at L.A. last night at 9pm....I met a cool guy on the flight over who's an investment banker and lives in Union Square in Manhattan - I've forgotten his name now...it might come to me later - but anywayz, Ricky picked me up and whisked me off to a little cafe/bakery/restaurant where I had hot chocolate and tomato and basil soup with bread and other stuff. We were so exhausted we fell straight aleep and woke up this morning and jogged a little over a mile and a half I think together around USC.....afterwards we went for breakfast at Grinder's and visited the Science Center Museum here in L.A.'s USC area....the Science Center had an awesome 'Forces of Nature' IMAX show we saw - I loved how scientists tracked earthquakes and figured out where the next earthquake in Turkey area will hit - 10 miles from Istanbul!! That's TRAGIC because Istanbul is GORGEOUS!!! I want to visit it! I hope NO earthquake EVER hits it! So beautiful a city. Afterwards, we came home and changed cause it was a blustery day in L.A. - so windy - and went for a late lunch/early dinner in Little Tokyo at this sushi place where 2 chefs make the sushi right in front of you and place the finished foods on plates which travel around on a kiosk around the large center table for customers to pick up. It was like dim-sum but for sushi! :) Afterwards, we got chocolate Mochi ice cream (a japanese sweet treat) from Mikawaya - this awesome japanese sweets bakery right next to the sushi place we went to in Little Tokyo.
After that, we came home and rested before heading back out to try and catch 'SIN CITY' but it was sold out so instead we went shopping at GAP and ricky bought me a pretty stomach-revealing cream-lace short-sleeve blouse....SO PRETTY but I have to get it tailored in the back so it's nice and tight and not so loose.....I actually have a decent stomach! Still needs to be worked out a LOT more but not bad! ;) Pretty proud of myself for that.
Now home and happy after deciding Oblivion sounds great and ready for BED!! Tomorrow, we're going hiking early morning in the Santa Monica mountains, and then hitting the beach and who knows what after that but my flight back to NY leaves at 9:30 so we don't have that much time! Can't wait to come back for Memorial Day weekend and over 4th of July! :) I love L.A. :) But don't worry New York City - you know I love you too - I have to have a home at both places....I can't live without either.
Jade, Sarah Beth and Memory *BIG HUGS* thanks guys :) I'm having a great time in L.A.! :) Kris fellow deepher? D Phi E? Awwwww!!! that brings back so many memories - such a long time ago - I was so young - just 19 when I pledged and crossed over to sister and then disaffiliated for good reasons which I can't go into here.....being a 'deepher' for a while I think helped me on the way to becoming the strong a woman I am today ;) so glad you liked usagiandmamoru.com!! Where did you go to school? Which class of D Phi E?
Time for sleep. G'night everyone.

10:50 p.m.
Memory, Lorie and Jade-chan *big hugs* You guys are awesome :) thank you for your warm words.
I feel a lot better today :) I'm going to focus this weekend while I'm in L.A. - most likely on the flight down - on the song and figure out what I need to do to make it perfect because on Tuesday I'll meet with the engineers (who have been SO awesome and so patient and wonderful and they're exceptionally talented musicians and engineers too) and I'm going to make this work! Even if it means removing all the back ups - whatever I have to do, to get it to sound beautiful and pleasant to the ears! Anything that makes me go furrow my eyebrow I'm going to tuck waayyy low in the mix or get rid of it and let the song breathe and shine on its own.
I just finished packing for L.A. and am going to dive into bed - soooo exhausted.
Sarah Beth, Kris, Ebe I'll respond to you guys tomorrow or later this weekend. *HUGS* to you all.

i am not happy. not happy.....I thought the song was perfect last night (OBlivion) but when I listened to it today things were too loud...too off.....it made me want to cry and it doesn't sound like it did originally....I am so frustrated and upset. We spent so many hours and it's costing me a lot and it still isn't right! This song is practically my FAVORITE out of all of them and it's not perfect! It's like only 70% perfect....why can't I get it right? I'm so...down....my friend Mark is going to listen to the original version and the engineered version and try to figure what exactly it is that seems to be missing in the new engineered version and why it doesn't sound like the same song and have that SAME essence. I WANT MY SONG BACK. *sob* I'm sitting at work and I'm mindlessly doing motions....meanwhile my heart is ACHING because I want this song to come out so well :( The stupid tears in my eyes won't help make it perfect - maybe the engineers are free tonight? Probably not but I'll call - my next session with them is next Tuesday and I don't wanna wait that long but I will probably have to. This is weighing on my heart and mind so horribly...so heavily....I want it to come out perfect. PLEASE GOD help me make this song perfect and everything I wish it to be. Please. Amen.

what a work out I had tonight! The instructor for Monday nights at the karate & kickboxing gym I go to is this guy named Ian and his class was re-named 'Ian's Boot Camp' because honestly, that's what it IS! He gets you in shape and gives you an excellent workout. My abs and triceps are screaming right now but in 2 weeks they're going to look killer good :) Ian's cute too :) LOL! Anywayz, I thought I'd be totally out of shape not having gone regularly for MONTHS and MONTHS but I wound up doing pretty decently :) I can't wait to get back up to my peak fitness condition.
Bunch of things lately in the news I need to write about. First, the Pope - my parents and I were riveted all day Saturday to the news about the Pope. I think I read and watched every editorial and news special on him. What a remarkable man! He championed human rights and for that I am proud of him! He wasn't too keen on women's rights though within the church or on abortion but hey - that's his belief - to each man his own.
Terry Schiavo - I think it was so very wrong for her feeding tube to be removed. Bad decision on the part of the court. That woman - whether vegetative or whatever - had not put her wishes in writing nor told anyone about her wishes other than what she allegedly told her husband and are you REALLY gonna believe a guy who's already with another woman and has 2 kids by her? Terry's feeding tube should've remained and the will of her parents and brothers and sisters taken precedence! With no evidence of what her will was in her condition, you don't take the word of the husband over the family!
Further on Terry Schiavo - some people out there think (and I quote) "it's the liberals who wanted to let Terry die" and I'm like what the HECK?? I'm a BLAZING liberal and I DID NNNNOOOOTTTTT want Terry's feeding tube removed. I wish people wouldn't label things conservative or liberal whenever things are opposite of what they believe. Liberals didn't do this to Terry - her husband did and the Court system followed LAWS - they weren't 'liberal activist judges' - they were JUDGES following the laws of the nation and the state of Florida. There are conservatives and liberals alike who wanted her feeding tube removed - catholics TOO - it's not an ONLY liberals argued for this. I, as a liberal, argued against it.
That said, it's after 10 and I have a late night tomorrow in New Jersey with the engineers. Going to make Oblivion perfect :D
Night everyone and *BIGGER HUGS* to Sarah Beth and Jade and Miyu-chan and Caro-chan :)

technology - how do I love thee
thank technology for getting me to post twice within 3 hours. I just signed up to have AIMs sent to my cellphone when I sign off AIM at this computer and choose to send msgs to my cellphone. That way friends can IM me even when I'm not at my comp! Of course, they can also call me but IMing's easier when u don't have time for a long call. AND I added accuweather.com LIVE weather to the bottom of this blog! You can check your weather there too :D Just click 'change location' and type in ur zip code or city and state.
I'm goint to sunny L.A. next weekend - it'll be in the 70's (possibly 80's) next weekend! WOO HOO! :D My parents will be visiting Naples, Florida soon too - we have bought a new property/home there and folks'll be moving there soon. They've wanted a Florida home for a long time - I can't wait to sun down there :D My first love was from Tampa and I loved Florida and turns out Naples isn't that far from Miami! Double woo hoo! I LOVE MIAMI! We won't be moving there permanently or anything - just yet anyway - that'll be our summer home/vacation home for whenever we wanna get away from New York. But eventually, papa and mummy will move down there for good.
Speaking of hot weather, I bought a BUNCH of bikinis and swimsuits over the past couple months - the pink swimsuit though is actually black and is Calvin Klein - they're all from victoria's secret and venususa.com! :) 6 bikinis, one tankini with a swim skirt, and one full swimsuit. As lydia says, I definitely don't need ANYMORE bikinis :D But I might end up returning 2 or 3 of them which I haven't received yet. Hope they turn out good!
ok I'm out. SVINYOLAS Feb 6th and a lawyer too but from Spain? Very cool :) It's so nice to meet my fellow birthday brother :) What law do you practice? Where in Barcelona, Spain do you live? I've always wanted to visit Barcelona! A Princess from Austria was also born on our birthday and she's an artist? That's awesome :) Yeah I definitely thing being all born on the same day gave us similar qualities - I love to draw and paint! I'll email you shortly :) Jade-chan I love your blog! And what's the long story? You should've emailed me ;) *HUGS*

Hope ya'll put ur clocks 1 hour forward! :) I wound up sleeping in till 10am....I had every intention of jogging this morning but it was raining still......although now it's getting brighter....but now I don't wanna jog anymore :) hehehehehe :) oh wait it's getting back darker now - whew - don't feel guilty now.
I have 2 new favorite shows: "Hope and Faith" on ABC on Fridays at 9pm and "What I Like About You" on the WB Friday's at 8 (or 8:30). I was cracking UP watching Hope and Faith on Friday. I love Kelly Ripa. She's SUCH a good actress. I actually forGOT it was Kelly Ripa!
I wanna watch some new anime. I miss some good cute fun anime. I wanna get ahold of Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. I think the manga ended in Nakayoshi.....
There are these 4 huge ducks sitting on the lawn outside my house......HUGE......maybe I should pretend to go duck hunting..... I took pictures of the lake outside the window here at my desk.....here's what it looks like:
The gold contraption you see in the bottom of the pic is a replica of an olden time's astronomer's tool. I have a lot of knick knacks and odds and ends.
I just went out to get the sunday newspaper and it's raining - YES! Don't have to jog! :D I'm so lazy today :) ok time to get moving. See ya'll later :) I'm gonna watch Desperate Housewives tonight at 9 on ABC and did you guys hear COLE's coming back to CHARMED next Sunday??? I have to set my vcr to record it! I LOVED Cole and thought Phoebe and he should've somehow stayed together and been a good true couple. Maybe there's still hope. Hmmmm.....

don't forget to set ur clocks forward 1 hour!
i'm sleepy....just had chamomile tea....talking to my friend Lydia online.....she's got a new boyfriend who's a total gentleman - he helps her put on her coat, opens doors for her, walks to her side of the car to open the door for her.......I have to go lecture Ricky now......saw the Kid's Choice Awards - green slime everywhere - I miss that show I used to watch as a kid: "You Can't Do that on Television" - that was fun stuff :)
time to sleep - it's 10:40pm but it's actually 11:40 with Day Light Savings time now! I need to get up early tomorrow and jog for an hour and do a very grueling bikini body workout! It involves 200 crunches - middle and each side, and 6 other ab workouts of 60 repetitions each all for the middle and both sides - I want toned obliques and mid-section and also involves a ton of hip, buttocks and thigh exercises as well as 200 push ups and 200 dips to tone my arms. My goal is to have my perfect body back by June 21! :D ok time to sleep. Night everyone and big hugs to JADE, SARAH BETH, MEMORY, MIYU-CHAN and I'll respond to any msgs tomorrow :)

02:56 p.m.
good lord what is up with my site's servers! today is a very rainy and dark day - quite beautiful actually. I went to bed early last night and heard the rain when I woke up sometime around 3 a.m. - it was hurtling against the side of the house and on 3 of my windows....so spooky! It's now 3pm and it's so dark out! The lake outside is placid....the trees are still stark and barren-looking although hopefully in a couple days they'll show large buds! I feel like I'm back in 7th grade in my home in Patterson, NY when the woods and dark rainy days always looked like this at our house.....feels like one of those 'haunted house story' days ;)
Spent the morning and early afternoon cleaning the house - mopping, sweeping, waxing the wood floors and finally cleaning the bathrooms. WHEW! I'm so tuckered out! I don't want to do anything else except curl up in bed with my magazines and books and read until tonight's KID'S CHOICE AWARDS at 8pm on Nickelodeon.
Yesterday was April 1 - April Fool's Day and at work we had 'clash day' where employees could dress up in mis-matched completely clashing clothes. Ya guys KNOW I'm a fashion maven but I picked out every print, stripe and check pattern in my closet that clashed and wore it under a black tench and when I got to work changed into mis-matched boots (one pink and one white). For my trouble I got 2nd place and $20! The winners were my friend Denny and this other girl from the 10th floor - Denny came in dressed CRAZY - he had boxers on over his pants, pyjama pants under them, a chinese hat with a long hair braid falling from it, tissue hanging out from his boxers in back and an umbrella and a bag with "dog poop" in it. Yeah. He got $50. Don't worry - next year if I'm still there I'm wearing polka dotted pants on April Fool's Day ;)
It's 4:30 pm now.....we just learned the Pope died.....it's so sad :( am watching the memorial on CBS....
I'll write more later tonight.

home sweet home! what a gorgeous day today was!! 60 degrees, birds chirping, the woman on the subway who eyed my black sandals I wore in my excitement over spring and who, because of, I changed back into boots once I got to work. :D Wore my pretty white pants, and my pretty black poncho and got lovely complients all day! A poncho - worn correctly and complimentarily can make anyone look great no matter short or tall! And I'm short! :)
I left work early today because of a doctor's appointment. Everything's fine :D I'm now home and ready to relax! I'm gonna watch Nick & Jessica on MTV for the next like 3 hours and can't miss SIMPLE LIFE :) I read something really great about Paris Hilton in this month's Cosmopolitan Magazine: Paris doesn't drink much when she goes out - she's known for nursing one drink all night or drinking nonalcoholic bebverages because she wants to look good all night. I think that's very smart of her! I only drink 1 or 2 amaretto sours (you guys who drink know amaretto sours are sweet and not likely to get you drunk at all) and that's because I love sweet drinks :) I'm not a fan of getting soooo drunk - it sucks, makes you feel so out of it, you act like an idiot and you feel sick to ur stomach after the buzz wears off. Better to just drink and enjoy it for just that - a drink - and get a light buzz - nothing major! Anywayz, cheers to Paris for showing people how to be smart about drinking when you go out! And I don't care who chuckles at that or rolls their eyes wondering how I can say it - it's true!
Anywayz, the show's almost one so I'm gonna go have a night of relaxation. See ya'll later tonight or tomorrow :) Oh and Lorie I *do* love my phone BUT it's not as multifunctional as the pp6600! I want the slide-out keyboard and the screen to browse the web and send emails which is bigger and more web-browser compatible. Plus I *think* that's the one which has blue tooth capability which means I can have a wireless ear piece/mic on and the phone anywhere down and jog or whatever wireless and hands free ;) I'm all about multi-tasking and multifunctional technology ;)

10:33 p.m.
I used to always start my entries like that on here - especially in law school when I stayed up and did all-nighters studying and posted on my blog at like 11pm or 2am or as late as 4am ;)
Not in the writing mood tonight so am posting some fun things for your eyes:
I thought it was funny. Especially when some signers of the treaty talk the talk but don't walk and walk.
Rose is so me :D That's how I greeted Spring the other day - I heard birds everywhere and I was like 'awww birds! welcome back!' So when I saw Rose do this in the comic strip I was like OH MY GOD THAT'S ME!!!
Last, but not least - feast your eyes on the phone I shall buy very very very soon from SPRINT! :)
Go check it out at sprint.com :)
Tired so going to sleep. *HUGS* to Jade, Miyu-chan, Sarah Beth, Memory, Susan, Stephanie and Caro-chan! see everyone tomorrow :)

10:05 p.m.
where to begin today's entry......I'm enjoying a 'Dove Chocolate Flowers' chocolate treat right now....bought them along with the easter baskets for my cousins yesterday. After yesterday's entry, Papa and mummy and I piled into the car after mum made me change out of what I was wearing into something "nicer" even though I knew that at these family gatherings kids always played with me and would pull on my clothes and inevitably anything really nice would come back home with me looking more worn than it should! But I dutifully changed into this new lipstick red cardigan sweater I got from Victoria's Secret (their sexy boyfriend cardigan - it's SOOO nice :)) and my Kenneth Cole jeans and a white belt and my red skechers sneakers. Mummy was happy. I saw my little cousins Kriba (Kripa?) and Kevin (only 1.5 and 2 or 3 months respectively) and they're SO FREAKIN CUTE! Although Kriba is a handful! I now know what moms mean when they say they get a lot of exercise running around after their 2 year olds! ;) I followed that girl up and down the stairs a million times, ran after her whenever she wandered near the basement door stairs, had to run to stop her from ripping off all the leaves on the plants (which she did anyway the naughty girl!) but she was SOOOOOOOO cute and precious! I have a picture of her wearing my red skechers which fit her VERY well!! My small size 5 feet look almost right on an almost 2 year old - that's so not good. Ah well.
Then we went to the party house and I played with all my cousins. Manisha and Michael - thought only like 2 and 4 years are VERY mature and actually understand things on a very adult level - they are just too cute for words. My uncles are all very sweet and funny and I love them. It was really good seeing everyone. Downstairs, Mahima, Melvin and Megan (3 of my other cousins) and a bunch of their friends and I wound up playing games and played truth or dare. No joke. Seriously. And ya know what? It was FUN! I got Mahima to call up a guy her friend knew and pretend to talk "sexy" to him and make up a fake name and she did SUCH a good job!!! That girl can act! She's awesome. All my cousins are so much fun - I have 15 cousins on my mom's side and 11 on my dad's so 26 cousins in all and counting my 3 sisters and I - that makes 30 of us in all - I've got a great family.
We wound up staying there till 1am because my uncles got out the karoke machine and they and my dad and everyone - soooooo drunk - were singing and dancing till that late. I had to keep coming up and remind them "11pm....it's midnight....10 more minutes and we leave....twice...." I recorded their shannanigans! Was tres funny.
I got dared to reveal one of my most embarrassing moments and to do 'the robot' - that robot dance thing? I thought I did a great job but they said I looked really funny. hmph.
Anywayz, so sleepy....only 5 hours of sleep.....going to bed early tonight.
Booked a flight to L.A. for the weekend of April 8th. Can't wait. Sunny beaches here I come! :D Can't wait to wear my new swimsuits and/or bikinis! :D
Hot showers before bed make you so sleepy.....I took a long hot shower just now....slathered on that Oil of Olay treatment and eye serum too! I haven't seen that line again! WHEW! Time for sleep and to call and talk to my Ricky.
Jade I'll look for your email! *HUG* and ur not mean! :) Sarah Beth you got PAT to watch Barbie?? OH MY GOD! I got Ricky to watch Marmalade Boy and Kodocha and he loves those but I think he'd spontaneously combust if I made him watch Barbie as Rapunzel ;) Kudos to you and Pat! :) Azure Kaze ahhhhhh that's cool! I knew the blue part - it was the Kaze part I wasn't so sure about! Feb 1st? I'm Feb 6th! YAAAYY :) *HUGS*
Ok night everyone :)

04:40 p.m.
Happy Easter everyone :) went to church this morning and afterwards, we all helped mum cook an easter lunch at home! Well not me really ;) I stayed upstairs and looked through my newest US Weekly! :D hehehe :D But I helped set the table! :) My sisters all just left around 2pm and now I'm waiting to go with my folks to our relatives for easter celebration in upstate NY. I hope we don't come back too late because I have work tomorrow morning.
I wonder if I should pick up last minute easter baskets from CVS or the local supermarket for all of my cousins upstate.....I have I think 4 families to buy for so I think 4 big baskets for each set is good.
Last night I watched Barbie - Fairytopia and it was such a cute movie! Although I was a little disappointed in how they painted the "evil" character Laverna - not allowing any redemption and just writing her off - they showed how she was never made to feel like she fit in and as a result turned to bad ways but one could see she wanted to be loved and that was why she was doing the "evil" things she was....also I thought Barbie's character Elina should've been revealed to be the Enchantress' daughter! :D That would've made it an even better story. But overall, good movie. If any of you out there like children's movies like I do and like the Barbie ones - rent "Barbie as Rapunzel" <-- SOOO GOOD and "Barbie of Swan Lake" <-- a TAD tedious at some points but still good overall and "Barbie in the Nutcracker" and "Barbie in the Princess and the Pauper" - both good but the Rapunzel one is my favorite! :)
Ok I need to start getting ready now. Maybe make myself a cup of tea or hot chocolate before I go - this house is so COLD! It's a very cold Easter this year. Gosh I can't wait for warm spring days already! But before I go - msgs to friends: Azure Kaze hi :) aww thank you very much!! Casablancas has a broken link? UGH! Geez louise! I'll have to fix it next weekend - thank you for letting me know :) Where is your nick name from? Ya know in that 'Fairytopia' movie I saw - one of the main character's names was Azura :) LIZ I'm there! I'm SOOOOOOOO there :D thank you!!!! We should totally meet up! Miyu-chan they're gorgeous!!!! I wish I could get my dvd thing to work right with my paintshoppro so I could take a snap of the scene I like so much myself! For some reason when I try to do a screencapture, paintshoppro keeps playing the movie selection and I can't actually capture the image even if I pause it. *shrug* Memory unfortunately, I totally forgot to research Egypt for you :( I'm sorry :( I'll look into it more this week! I still think you will be fine if you go :) *HUG* Jade hi :) I still don't know where you blog and you should totally email me the url ya know! I won't link to it or post it anywhere. :) Josh Hoffman wow! thanks! :)
I'm off - I've been blogging for almost 20 minutes! Ciao all :)

11:38 p.m.
Happy Easter everyone :)
what a weekend so far!! I've been so immersed in family life since Friday morning I've forgotten everything else! Friday morning we all got up early and went to church upstate and lord was it a long service with like a million kurielaisons! But it felt good to sing the old songs and because I've been singing so much lately and really stretching and using my vocal chords, they've become SO much stronger and I was really belting songs out nicely :D I was listening to my sisters too - Mekha has a very pretty voice and Nithi surprised me - she never really sings but for a moment there I caught her in an unguarded moment and she has such a strong beautiful voice! I wish I could get them all to really practice and use their voice - I bet they could sing amazingly! I can't be the only one of my sisters who can sing! I saw so many of my cousins and family friends there - service began at 9am and wasn't over until 4pm! After visiting with family for appam and pal (traditional Maundry Thursday meal) and watching a little of a coopy of 'Bride and Prejudice' one of my cousins had obtained (it's SOOOOOOOO corny and I think it'd have been better all in hindi instead of 'english-ized/americanized/westernized' but Aishwarya was awesome as always) well after all that we didn't get home till late at night.
Today - I took my family in the afternoon to see Ringling Bros & Barnum & Bailey Circus at Madison Sq. Garden! We had so much fun! I even got a large plush elephant, a whirlamajigger that lights up and spins, and a decorated horse mug that was filled to the top with a snow cone :) I acted just like a little kid - I said 'HEY' and 'JUMP' and sang along and everything - the best parts were with the horses, the elephants, the acrobats, and the comedian guy and the acrobat in the cylinders they spun around in the air and spun inside of - it was so scary when they climbed on top - we thought they'd fall! Everybody loved it and we all had a great time :)
Today's Review of a Nail Salon: ANGEL TIPS
The only bad part of today was getting the WORST manicure/pedicure of my LIFE! I went to ANGEL TIPS here in New Rochelle and I had the worst manicurist/pedicurist - she (1) didn't pumice my feet - in fact all she did was put them in water, file, trim cuticles, and then lotion - nothing else - no pumice, no actual cleaning of the feet - I saw the 2 other ladies there pumicing and after she lotioned my feet and I realized she hadn't pumiced I was like 'ummm you didn't pumice?' she looked all 'oh I forgot' and acted as if she'd go get a pumice stone but I told her it was ok now that she'd lotioned but "next time"..... I was willing to forgive her at that point but THEN (2) in my manicure she pulled the skin off my inner thumb and made it bleed and it still hurts (3) filed my nails all wrong and with various lengths, unmatching and (4) her polish job sucked in places where she didn't put enough polish and thought she'd 'fixed' it by placing some nail polish remover on the area and wiping it in such a way as that should be enough. At one point I told her, in a VERY nice way (but my sister said she heard me and thought I sounded like a biiiaaatch! I sooo wasn't! I thought I had used my kind but firm voice!) and told her that she was filing wrong and not checking to see nails were all matching in length. What was I supposed to do? Sit silent and endure a horrible manicure and meekly pay over $22 + the $6 tip she didn't deserve? I refused to be docile and instead spoke up! She was bordering on horrible. Unsanitary too. Her equipment wasn't sterlized and was all in one tray and when she took the cuticle clippers out she didn't spray alcohol on them, didn't clean them - nothing. I should've walked out then and there but I had also taken my sister Mekha there and she had a wonderful lady do her feet and hands. Maybe I got the worst lady in there. Maybe everyone else is GREAT and cleans their equipment and KNOWS how to do a proper pedicure and manicure. The girl I got really didn't.
Somehow, today was not my day with service people - even on line at MSG to buy a drink with a tiger cup on it this lady said 'next on line' and I told her my request - square in the eye - and she instead took the request of the person behind me. I was like 'WTF!' and moved over to the guy next to her (after giving her a semi-dirty look) and placed my order with him. My thumb is still all red and it hurts! Stupid salon.
But still - good Easter so far! Aside from a lousy salon and a lousy service woman.
I have to get up very early tomorrow morning for church service so must get to bed now. Will respond to all msgs tomorrow :) Night!!

11:32 p.m.
wrinkles, scented bowling balls, the universe & God - geez louise what DON'T I talk about in here!
I'm getting back into my beauty routine! All these late-late nights of recording and engineering for my cd and only 5 hours of sleep or less have taken a HUGE toll on my eyes and skin - I think I might actually have *sob* a wrinkle! This morning on the drive to the train station, I opened up the mirror thing in - what's that thing called in the car that you pull down when the sun is hitting you straight in the face to prevent the sun glare - well that and I saw a LINE under my right eye! A LINE! I was like what the hell IS THAT!? AGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I don't KNOW if it's a real wrinkle or not cause I just inspected my skin now with my magnifying mirror and couldn't spot a line anywhere but I swear it was there this morning! So I have a plan! Every night for the next 30 days I shall dutifully slather the skin around my eyes with Origins' Nightamins Eye Cream or Oil of Olay's Eye Serum and during the day I shall use Nivea Q10 Anti-Wrinkle eye cream thing with SPF 4! I'm 28 dude! I'm WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too young for wrinkles!! And I'm gonna keep it that way! I have perfect skin! I'm very proud of it! I work hard to keep my skin gorgeous even though I abuse it with late nights and I don't moisturize as much as I preach to others to. I was blessed with great genes from mummy and papa (they have like no wrinkles and they're 53!) and I refuse to have wrinkles! I hope it's not a wrinkle. I hope, I hope, I hope. Meanwhile I'm not, like, gonna move my eyes at ALL. Hard to do cause I'm quite expressive with my eyes - I tell STORIES with them - they travel all over the place when I'm excitedly talking. I can't help it. Why do I always use the word 'like' in my sentences? So anywayz, I slathered my eyes with Origins' eye cream and the rest of my face with Oil of Olay Total Effects Intensive Restoration Treatment with retinol. 8 weeks of using that baby and my skin will look as good as NEW. Yes sireee bob. I just looked again - no wrinkles. Good. If I wake up tomorrow and pull down the car mirror and see one again I swear I'll scream bloody murder.
So I heard on Live with Regis and Kelly that some folks have came out with scented bowling balls. They come in cinnamon, orange, amaretto and cherry and other flavors. Kelly said it best: who the heck sniffs their bowling balls anyway? Amen sister! (or Amen Sistah! I can talk black! *inside joke with my friend Kristen* She says I can't talk black and I said I so can! Isn't it obvious? I wonder if someone is going to get offended that I said 'black' and 'talking black' - I'm a colored minority too - I don't mean any disrespect - no disrespect yo! Agh who am I kidding, I seriously can't talk black.) Other interesting tid bits: unclaimed baggage from airplane flights at this place in Alabama - they found the following things - a 41 carat emerald, a replica of a full suit of armor and a mummified falcon and shrunken head. Yup. Uh huh. Ya wonder why these things went unclaimed although I'll take the 41 carat emerald :D Shrunken heads though? EWWWWWWWWWW!!! I saw this thing on Ripley's Believe it or Not on how they make shrunken heads - ugh! Let's just say it involved removing bones and a lot of boiling. EWW! EWW!! EWW! And last thing I found interesting: this 8-months pregnant russian woman went into labor during a parachite jump from an airplane. She jumped out of the pain, and wham - went into labor - thousands of feet above ground. WHAT WAS SHE THINKING even flying at 8 months??? Amazing the stuff I hear.
Speaking of amazing - I watched David Letterman last night and BRIAN GREENE was on it!!!! I saw him speak live at the Isaac Asimov debate last year at the Hayden Planetarium and I thought he was SOOOOOOOOO cute! I have his book 'The Elegant Universe' and am a strong advocate for the string theory the book is about - string theory is the theory proposed for what is the actual make up every atom, quark - every THING in this universe - it's this vibrating packet of energy. Too much to explain here but he has a new book 'Fabric of the Cosmos' I'm going to get. So last night on Letterman he talked a lot about the origins of the universe, and how the universe didn't begin with just the 'big bang' - the big bang happened a split second after whatever was the actual THING that started it all. I think the THING was God. I believe God exists and I believe He is a conscious entity that is in EVERYTHING - all over the universe. I believe he *is*, on some level, in everything - a consciousness that exists in everything on a minute level. Like - I'm not saying that this desk is alive or anything. I'm just saying its atoms, its particles are the same things that we're made of too - we're all made of the same protons, electrons, we all came from one original source and we're all interconnected and He is the interconnecting thing....with a consciousness that propels the exapansion of the universe, propels laws of physics etc. I believe HE is the source of our universe and as the source, is the material this whole universe and ourselves are made of - that is why he is everywhere and all around. I think when we're aware of the existence of God as a consciousness, a conscious entity that is out there, and we reach out to Him, to speak to Him, he DOES hear us and does work miracles to help us. I believe in Him - he has always answered my prayers and on the few times where I didn't get what I wanted, I knew deep down it wasn't His fault or that it wasn't because He didn't want me to have it but there are things He can't change and one of those things is human will and human choice.
Anyway, to ensure I don't get wrinkles tomorrow I'm going to go to sleep now. I'm already up later than I should be considering that I'll be back at the engineering studio in NJ tomorrow night. Time for sleep. G'night everyone and *HUGS* to all who left me msgs on the comment box - I responded to all msgs from yesterday in the entry below! Will respond to newer ones tomorrow or Friday :)

08:52 p.m.
evening folks :) I'm a very happy girl tonight - I ordered some stuff from bodyc.com and LOVE what I bought! The clothes were only $15 or $17 a piece and look SOOO gorgeous on! I have all the club and casual summer attire I need now. However, I also got my order from Victoria's Secret and was sorely disappointed. Am returning EVERYTHING from VC except a red cardigan sweater. I hope the bikinis I ordered for the summer are much better!
I'm getting ready for Easter Sunday - going to get baskets, green grass, egg coloring kits, creme-filled chocolate eggs - the works! :) We're going to family for the day so it should be a lot of fun! :)
I can't wait for this Saturday cause I have tickets to take my entire family to see the Ringling Bros Barnum & Bailey Circus at Madison Sq. Garden!!!! :D I haven't seen a real circus since I was a kid! Can't wait wait wait! :) ok time to respond to my friends' msgs:
Tanja thank you very much! *HUGS* Caro-chan awww thank you!! Story will be ready after this Thursday :D Pooza hi there :) checked out ur blog and love it :) Liz G. WAI!!! June??? I want to go!!! Where do I order online tickets? :D What was in the goodie bag they gave you? Diana Cho awww *HUGS* thank you very much! So glad you found my site and so happy you like UsagiandMamoru.com :D It's my favorite site ;) It's very nice to meet you! Susan turns out my cousin is marrying a guy who's pentecostal and so her engagement night/pre-wedding night party are the last times she'll wear jewelry!!! Malayalee Pentecostals don't believe in wearing jewelery - has to do with how the love of jewelry can lead to vanity or preoccupation with material things instead of complete dedication and service to the Lord. So can't get her jewelry! No idea what to get her now!
memory *HUGS* Egypt! I've always wanted to go!! Egypt is as safe as any place to travel provided you stay at reputable places and go with people you can trust. It's no more dangerous than any other popular foreign travel destination although I'd advise that you read up on local culture and customs before you go because some places might have rules on what women are supposed to be wearing while there. Where in Egypt are you going? Egypt has the same kind of reputation as NYC - people are more scared about the hype of murders and burglary etc etc and when they get here they wind up seeing it was all nothing and that majority of that stuff happened long, long ago. One word of caution - Americans aren't well-liked anywhere we travel these days so I wouldn't advertise you're American. If you're worried, I advise getting in touch with the U.S. Embassy in Egypt and get their advise on friendly/safe places to stay, visit and what areas to avoid. Try to keep a low profile and you should be fine :) That's everything I can think of. I'll do a little research this weekend for you and see what I can come up with :) *HUGS*
Miyu-chan YES YES YES :) PLEASE :D :D :D :D be83398@yahoo.com :D :D :D :D *HUGS* I adore you :) Sarah Beth sawahhhhhhhhhh *HUGS* I know how busy you are babe!! It's ok! But keep me aprised of the wedding details! And thank you for your prayers for my cd!! You are SO AWESOME! I can't wait to see you married!!!! *HUGS* Jade LL Cool J has a song called 'Hush' too? Doesn't surprise me - 'Hush' is a pretty popular song title - I think the Cranberries or Cardigans had that as a title to one of their songs and I remember another artist too. Doesn't matter - you can name your songs whatever you want but it sucks if a song with your title becomes very popular and then you try to promote YOUR song with the same title and everyone's like 'oh THAT one? No I meant THIS one.....' just confusing. I hope that doesn't happen with me! @_@ I mean if my songs ever get radio play....*prays very hard* Stephanie *HUGS* thank you :) How're you? What's new on your end? Jitendra right back at ya dude! :D
Tom why thank you very much! But I already do make someone happy - his name is Ricky :D Joanna Glasner I've sent you an email - would love to respond to your question on evite :) Gabrielle first off, *BIG HUGS* :) I applaud you for loving God and being so spiritual! And I also applaud you for trying to steer clear of trouble. Can you tell me how those people in school are bothering you exactly? If they're being mean to you, calling you names, there's not much you can do without looking like a tattle tale. The best way to deal with those things is to avoid the jerks and pray to God really hard for peace for yourself and that those jerks stop bothering you. However, if they're getting physical with you - hitting you or anything, alert a teacher you trust right away. I can't really advise you unless you tell me exactly how those girls are bothering you. You can email me at be83398@yahoo.com and I'll give you better advice there. There's no reason for you to write your whole story here and have the world read it. *HUGS* Be strong. I'll say a prayer for you too.
ok guys, I have to eat dinner and go to sleep soon. See ya'll tomorrow! :)

spring is here :D yaaaayyy :) actually, I feel like I didn't get to enjoy the snow enough this year - not one snowman or snowball fight and not enough time spent indoors watching the snow fall and drinking cocoa. But I *have* had enough of the darn cold! I wish it could snow without being so freezing cold.
I didn't go to work today (family emergency - won't tell the details here but everything's fine now) and spent the day cleaning the house. Productive. My whole closet is totally organized now and my room is neat and tidy. But whatever you do, don't look under the bed or in my desk drawers cause that's where I stashed most of the mess :D hehehe :D I'll clean out under the bed and the drawers another day cause I'm tuckered out!
so tired and sleepy....gotta get a good night's sleep to be ready for work tomorrow. Heading down to eat dinner with the family. No time to respond to msgs tonight but I shall respond tomorrow *HUGS* to all! and good night :)

i was going through my list of songs - compiling what'd been finished and what still needed to be completed (I finished today the celtic ballad 'Vercingetorix' I started last summer) and came across a song I wrote about Ricky back in the fall of 2001 or spring of 2002 called 'Is There Hope for Us?' and it's this soulful song about how much ricky and I went through in the beginning of our relationship (a lot of fights) and it was very R&B and soul - I think it's more soul actually - but I'd scrapped it not finished it because I thought it was too depressing. But when I sing it, it shows an amazing range of my vocals - a lot of my songs I sing at a very comfortable, soft and pretty spot and only on the really painful songs do I belt stuff out - this is a painful song so I'm like yelling at the top of my lungs. I sang it now and it's amazing how much I've improved vocally in 3-4 years. I hit amazing notes that I hadn't before. Wonder if I can record an acapella of this for the demo. I'm going to. It'll give listeners a good feel for my range of vocals and range of material I'm capable of.
So now on the album I'll have a good range of material: rock, pop, alternative, indian, celtic/new age and soul. Very good I think and it's a good reflection of me and who I am - everything I love and am about.
I still haven't cleaned the bathroom or my room yet. Gotta get started now.

happy sunday everyone! I am SO HAPPY!!!! :D So remember on Friday I wrote I was worried about my vocals? Yesterday I went out to NJ to record the vocals for Oblivion and my GOD I did it :) I totally redeemed myself :) I hit every high note - and on the final chorus where I have to hit SO HIGH - it took I think 15 minutes of work or more and drinking hot water - but I finally nailed it! Harmonies, back ups, all of it recorded beautifully :D I love my voice :) I'm so happy with my vocal abilities :) EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :D I'm just very proud of myself that I was able to hit that high vocally and hold it too! :) I go back to the studio Thursday night to work on engineering 3 of the songs, and we finish Oblivion one day after that. And that's it!! Mastering, cd design, make a bunch of copies (which is going to cost a small fortune), put it up on cdbaby.com and shop the cds around to labels and I'll start performing the material live sometime soon.
It's a dreary day outside but I'm a happy camper. Going to clean my room, clean the bathroom, work on my finances and work on some motions I need to finish.
Will respond to all msgs later tonight :) *HUGS* to all :)

home at last.....worried about my songs...worried about my vocals...worried if I can really sing tomorrow's song beautifully - I just did a horrible test/scratch/reference at Ash's place for me to use to rehearse for tomorrow's session - I was so flat and it sounded so gross :( What's WRONG with my voice!? Why can't I make it do what I want it to do every time!? And yet when I was waiting for a taxi tonight at 11:30, I decided to give it a go and whadya know - I was able to sing so beautifully. I have to make sure I sing just like that tomorrow when we cut the vocals for Oblivion - that song is DYANMITE. GOLD! AMAZING.
Went to court today and was so tired because I came back from the engineer's studio very late last night and barely slept a wink all night. We cut harmonies on 'Hush' and it's beautiful but the song feels like it's got everything + the kitchen sink in it. I have to trim it down and make sure the lead vocals shine and that nothing overpowers or fights with them - there's heavy guitars and like a billion vocals I did that I want to have IN there. I might have to make the unwanted and very tough call of just not using some of the beautiful stuff I recorded. I hate that. I want to use everything. But I'll see.
I should cut my self slack - I haven't slept more than 5 hours each in the past 5 days so my body and vocals and everything are tired so I shouldn't expect myself to hit my normal tones and heights etc......but still.....I hardly think Christina Aguilera or Celine Dion have an off day! I think I should start taking voice lessons formally. I tried 2 one-hour sessions back in 2003......but I didn't have the time and money to really do it......I know for a fact that when you regularly take voice lessons your voice improves 10-fold because you actually learn how to sing BETTER and the warm ups and techniques to make your natural talent shine on demand. I want that - on demand.
Good news - I'm getting a program called PRO TOOLS - it's what Ashish and the engineers use to produce music. I'm going to use it, my trusty violin and my hopefully-soon-to-be-on-demand vocals (LOL! :)) to record references of exactly how my songs should sound to help future producers I may work with to do the rest of my songs.
It's midnight and I have an early-afternoon session to do the vocals so let me sleep so I can get up in 8 hours and start my own vocal exercises and rehearse so I'm ready. I'm going to do my BEST JOB. I want to redeem myself.
I'll respond to all msgs tomorrow night or Sunday.

12:09 p.m.
hi peeps :) this morning was a monstrosity. I had court again today in Kings County Brooklyn Supreme and the 4,5, and 6 trains weren't running so I wound up taking and transfering onto all these trains and wound up in Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn and had to take a train back down to where the courts were. I still made it to court by 9:30 which is when calendar calls start. Whew. After court, my friend Ed took me to Hale & Hearty where i paid a very expensive amount of money for a soup and sandwich combo. Sheesh. After grabbing a white chocolate mocha from starbucks I headed on back to work and here I am. Thank God for Starbucks.
I'm wearing these amazing yellow/brown suede calf-length boots that I got at a 'Shoe Mania' on 34th Street for only $50 on sale - they're Viga Spiga (one of my favorites!) and even with 4.5" heels and walking around a LOT i'm not in as much pain as I *thought* I'd be ;)
Alex *HUG* hi :) I won't be putting the music on this journal - this journal isn't my site really ;) it's just a journal host. It'll be located off of miakaandtamahome.com or usagiandmamoru.com or I might just go and buy my own domain which is what I think I should do because I don't want my music to be found through my anime/manga websites. I've put the book aside for now - it was a 5 or 6 book series on the legend of Atlantis and the 1st book covered Aztec, Incan and Mayan mythology ;) Book 2 covers greece and then book 3 India ;) I need to focus right now on music 100% and the book after that. Jade *HUG* you'll hear it I promise :D Caro-chan what'd u think of Nightingale? :) Ebe I got ur emails again - sorry I haven't responded - I'm very bad about replying to emails so just be patient - I swear I'll get to it ;)
I gotta get back to work now. See ya'll later :)

I have a new favorite band: The Bravery. Heard their song
'An Honest Mistake' yet? SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! I'm sleepy...was up late last night till 2am finishing threshold motions.....i'm going to sleep in a bit.
Went to court this morning and have court again tomorrow. Today was at NY Supreme - call wasn't till 10am so I was able to sit at one of my fave breakfast joints on 42nd and Madison and have an omelette and toast and potatoes. I put my 5 songs into my mp3 player last night and couldn't stop listening to them - especially 'Oblivion' all last night and all day today. I let mummy and papa and ricky listen to 'Nightingale's Song' and they told me they loved it :) Papa said it was beautiful :D and mummy said she loved it so much. Ricky - who is SOOO critical - told me 'Nishi it's AWESOME' :) I'm very happy :D
So sleepy though....time for bed. Night everyone.

just got home from an afternoon and night working on 'Oblivion' and my GOD that song is AMAZING. It is, I think, THE BEST song on my 5-song demo. That's the song I came up with back in 2003 (or 2002?) and everything I ever had in mind is DOWN - gorgeous music - almost done - still needs to be finished perfectly, vocals recorded and engineered, still need to finish engineering Hush, Steal and Story I think and we'll be DONE AND READY to MASTER :D
Divine Wind Hi there :) Yes, I was one of the first to announce it back when it was in the planning stages! :) I own some of the volumes and PGSM acts and love them all :D How are you? Nadine I'll try to do that :) Don't know when or how soon but will definitely try! ;) Liz omg Shecky's!! I totally forgot!!! I wanted to register for it back in like January or February when I saw it in amNewYork or METRO! I hope it's not too late yet! I want to go!! Are you going? Miyu LOL! hah, yeah right ;) I don't have time. We'll figure something out. Donna how much did the Nanny weight on the show? Well she seems about 125-135 I think.
I need to stay up late now and work on thresholds and work on music. So much to do and very little time to do it all.

One of my favorite sites is Manolo's Shoe Blog (link on the left under Fun Blogs) but Manolo doesn't like ponchos! :( So he out this pledge thing on his blog and I saw some other blogs posting the pledge too and it made me sad. Granted, not ALL ponchos are pretty or anything but some are just gorgeous and are totally flattering on you! I own 4 very beautiful ponchos - one from Bebe, another from Knits Landing, another from BCBG Max Azria and finally one from QVC I recently ordered - it's black with this gorgeous trim and it looks SO HOT on me!!! Here's the link to the site - order it in black or white as I think those are the best colors for it: http://www.qvc.com/asp/frameset.asp?class=0009&tmp=hp&cont=sn
So anywayz, to do something about it and promote love for ponchos and the message that you should wear what you want, I created a badge of sorts. Click on the badge below to go to the page where (if you like it and the message) you can copy and paste the code and place it on your blog! :)
The woman in the picture is Jennifer Aniston and the black poncho from QVC I ordered is very similar to the one she's wearing, so if you love that order it :)

Today's Rose is Rose and March 3rd's are both SOOOOOOO me :D I'm soooo the girl who relishes in being an adult but a child at heart :) And she has a journal too :D hehehe ok yeah I'm corny. Click the comics to see the bigger images and read them better:
Slept in late this pretty Saturday morning until 10am....had upa mav with mummy and papa and shared the newspaper with them. Since I started getting the newspaper mummy cuts coupons like crazy! :D hahaha it's fun :) I have to sweep the floors and do some laundry and pick up dry cleaning and I'm debating whether to get a mani/pedi and then settle in to do threshold motions - I gotta make money to pay off all my loans and debts.
Ricky got me this book - Suzy Orman's 'The Fabulous, Young and Broke' or something like that - he thinks I spend so much on clothing and such that it'll help me be more frugal. He's got a point, so I'll read it - he's like one of the most frugal guys I know and he even said there was stuff in there he learned - I could definitely use more pointers in being frugal - I've been spending waaaaaay too much since Christmas.
I might go to L.A.next weekend but am debating on whether I can afford it - have to check the ticket prices - I miss L.A. SOOOO much....Ricky and L.A. are my two favorite things :D I'm debating because I'm also going to India in April and although papa is getting me business class, I need to still chip in like a thousdand dollars or more - I think possibly 1700 cause I don't want to mooch off my dad! Money woes....you think being an attorney would mean ur rich - so not true. Between repaying loans and credit cards and expenses, you're not left with much and I've been making it a priority to pay off my loans and credit cards till I'm '0' by 2007 - HAH sooo not gonna happen ;) but I'll keep trying. I don't wanna enter my 30's and be married with debt!
I keep forgetting I'm not 27 anymore and that I'm 28 now - keep thinking I have tons of time before I turn 30. Blech. 30. Let's not talk about that.
So I read Hillary Duff is taking online classes through HARVARD's Extension School which offers classes/credits towards a future degree. She's been getting flak from a Harvard newspaper and some online news articles I read but I think she's really setting a good example for other young actresses and young kids in general by pursuing school and taking classes - whether it's online or not is unimportant - she's still taking an important step towards education and I applaud that! It's not often that you see rich, young kids with a sincere interest in school and education and instead of ridiculing her for trying Harvard online (someone probably told her that would be great for her!) I think we should be proud that she WANTS to be educated and smart. So 3 cheers for Hillary! :)
Lastly, speaking of education and smart - tonight on History Channel they're doing a special on the Lincoln Assasination and his life - the short blurb I read said 'One of America's most beloved leaders was actually a very hated man in his own time.' I've always been fascinated by Lincoln because he was an Aquarius too so I'm definitely watching tonight :)
I'm off to sweep and start my afternoon. Sun's so bright outside and reflects off the snow.....blinding, but pretty ;)
Susan I go in mid-April for a little over a week :) I have to go find a pretty present for my cousin Princy - don't know what to get her! What sign are you by the way? Henry hi there :) Miyu-chan aww karate?? so cool!!! I still think u should get the MuVo! :D Caroline like I said in the entries below - let's try to gab tonight? Ebenezer very nice to meet you! Thank you so much! I got your email and will respond later today. :)

in the entry 45 minutes ago I said I was upset about something.....to find peace again I went back to my site Nishi's A Dream I Dream and re-read stuff I had written and always go back to when I need a reminder of my strength and ideals.....and it worked. I feel like I've gotten myself back. :) I wound up re-writing and re-doing the Queen section: The Queen Within/The Queen Inside - it's a write up I wrote in my hard cover journals of everything I want to be. Reading it always puts me back together again. I feel so much better :)

10:30 at night and it's snowing outside. The wind is blowing against the house pretty hard......my mind feels like the weather outside - all tumultuous and stromy.....I'm worried about something and need to fix it....I've let it get too out of control....I need to be better than this.
Caro-chan *HUG* I miss talking to you too!! Whadya doing tomorrow night? Let's gab then? Miyu-chan ur going to be so close! that's not fair! what's this rideshare thing all about?

I just got home - saw RIVERDANCE tonight!!! I booked these tickets back in January for Opening Night of the 10-show 10th Anniversay of River Dance and because my boyfriend Ricky couldn't go, I asked one of my very good friends, Neil, to go with me and we had an awesome time! The show was wonderful BUT I felt like they kept the solo music/song numbers TOO long and the spectacular dance numbers too SLOW! Especially that finale dance number it over way too fast! Like Neil said - every segment seemed to last only a few minutes before it was on to the next segment. Still a good show. I want to see Michael Flatley and the LORD OF THE DANCE now! :D
SO after a hectic day at work, went to meet Neil and his gf Kristin at this great indian restaurant on 48th and 6th called 'SHAHAN' and we had a bunch of food I'm not all that familiar with - one was lamb vindaloo and chicken biriyani and everything was fantastic! One of my fave desserts - gulab jamun was practically perfect! :) I'm taking Ricky and my family back there.
Before dinner, I stopped at one of my favorite little boutiques - TRISTAN on 49th and 6th - they always have really good work clothes and today I scored 6 new gorgeous and very flattering long-sleeve shirts in lavendar, bright green, 2 different blues, red and easter pink! I already had a beautiful long sleeve easter yellow shirt so now with these I have every color in the rainbow except orange! ;)
very sleepy so time for bed. Work tomorrow and looks like we're due for another snow storm tomorrow and/or Saturday. Jade *HUGS* I'll keep an eye out for the Aries tank on there too! :) And send me the link to your journal! :)

oh my GOD! it's like a blizzard outside! old man winter is still strong! The wind is literally HOWLING - I can hear it! I just got home - work let us out early at 3:30 because of the awful weather - my dad got me from the train station and the roads were a mess! Looking outside the train windows I felt like it was still January and I lived in Alaska! So much wind and snow! It's blowing ferociously! Every sentence I wrote here has an exclamation point!
I find this weather exciting though :) It's so much fun to be warm inside - and I'm making hot chocolate as we speak - and watch the fierce snow outside fall. I thought I cleaned my room over the weekend but I made it a mess again in 2 days. Dammit.
Time to take advantage of being home so early at 5pm and clean my room and settle in to do threshold motions - maybe a little tv too :D hehehehe

fashion, fashion, fashion!
Spring is HERE (almost!) and all the stores are decked out with gorgeous things which make my credit cards quake in fear at how much I might spend! I don't know when it happened but my tastes have gotten more and more expensive! I'm in love with clothing by Oscar de la Renta! I wish I could afford these gorgeous pieces because they are SOOOO me! The white and gold embroidered tulle gown was featured in ELLE's January 2005 issue and I fell in love with it back then! I want a creation just like that for my wedding gown one day!
I'm also in love with the following pieces - the dress at the bottom by ESCADA and this gorgeous floral jacquard strappless dress and cardigan by Kay Unger:
I was reading my March 2005 issue of Vogue and I was thinking that while some people follow every fashion trend from "oh gold eye shadow is SO in this year" to "uggs are out, and round toe pumps are in" - I'm more like 'wear what you want!' It seems like fashion critics love to make fun of Uggs when they see celebrities wear them but I have to say - some of those Uggs are REALLY cute and *FUN* to wear! Fashion is supposed to be about wearing what makes you feel GOOD, what YOU love. If you dress for others, you'll never really uncover your unique sense of style. For example in this month's Vogue, Emmy Rossum (whom I adore - she was SO GOOD in Phantom of the Opera!) dresses often in Ralph Lauren (and you all KNOW how much I love Ralph Lauren too!) but she said something in the interview that struck me: she wouldn't be caught running around Hollywood in cotton velour athletic clothes and ugg boots. I was thinking to myself "what a shame! why not!? she would look so pretty in them!" I think if you try to define yourself by only one style of clothing (classic/feminine whatever) you're missing out on a whole world of clothing that would look AMAZING on you. I dress predominantly in feminine clothing (florals, skirts, pastels etc) but you'll often see me in also in cotton velour or terry track suits (like the new ones I got from Victoria's Secret!) and chunky sweaters from J.Crew or Banana Republic, I dress a lot from Banana ;), but I also wear pieces from GUESS like crazy and from BCBG - and jeans are a fashion staple for me as are slacks and trousers of every color, especially more 'manlier' clothing like pin striped black pants and a classy black blazer.....I love people like Angelina Jolie who can dress both sophisticated and classy and then feminine and sexy and then very casual and grungy! She's worn everything from tuexedos, to floral dresses, to black goth stuff and army-like clothing and looks GREAT no matter what! I say wear anything you want (as long as it looks good!) and don't CARE whether pointy toes are out and round toes in - they're just shoes (unless they're by Marc Jacobs or Gucci or Jimmy Choo or Manolos in which case they're SHOES!)!!! ;) LOL!
I have to save up for everything I want to buy - later this month I'm going to hit GUESS, ARDEN B, BEBE, ANTHROPOLOGIE, Ralph Lauren and check out the new JLo line at Macy's. I should be spring ready by April ;)
I responded to all messages in the March 5th entry below.

Jade-chan *big hugs* I think YOU are awesome. I started this journal in 2000 and kept it very private - nobody knew about it and slowly I told my sisters and a few friends and in 2002 I made the journal public and linked it from my websites and allowed my friends to link it from their sites and blogs. I'm actually amazed by the people who stop by - I've met you and other really cool people through this blog :) But I don't write for anyone but myself. I *need* this blog and my hardcover "real-life" journals ;) - besides God, they are my sole source of comfort when I really need to vent and rage and get all my sadness out. Don't write your blog expecting anyone to read it because then you're writing for your readers and not for you. Just write about your life, your pain, your troubles, and that's it. Write openly, honestly....bare your soul. My sister has a blog on pitas she shared with me and I'll read it once in a blue moon or so because she wants to keep it very private - I designed it for her too :) She didn't want her name or any personal info on it so I left it all out. I don't know if anyone ever found it in the random 'new entries on pitas' whenever she updates but she doesn't write expecting anyone to read it and she writes SO beautifully....I can feel everything she goes through. She writes for herself and that's the real reason people blog - to write out their thoughts, problems, troubles......it's cathartic and therapeutic and healing. I agree 100% with what Miyu-chan said - write like no one's reading and stay at one journal host. :) And one more thing - im blogging, don't expect people to care......some times people DO and they'll respond - if they've actually taken the time to go through a lot of journals to come across yours - but often, people are just looking for something, probably see your blog and move on - too absorbed in their own lives and problems to really reach out to you - it's a rare person (and I've met a lot of those rarities) who'll take the time to reach out to someone....one last thing - is your journal M_Jade @ pitas? I have it linked on my 'friends journal' section.
Sumit LOL! I'm glad I didn't fall into the 'just another ABCD blogging her brains out' category ;) I was actually born in New Delhi :) Haus Cas area or something like that is where my folks lived once. Anywayz, thank you for your kind words and maybe I'll run into you again on here another day :)
Lisa thank you very much *HUGS* :)
I finally got a full night's sleep....and I feel SO much better.......Wednesday night came back from the engineering studio - "HUSH" sounds better but I'm not happy with how I sang the song....I'll still put it on the demo track but it's not the song it has the potential to BE....I'll fix it one day when I know how to use pro tools and can make my own music and record vocals till I'm happy with them. We're almost finished engineering all the songs - 2 more songs to go and DONE! Mastering and cd cover design and duplication and that's IT! :D Well....that's it until the next hard part - shopping it around to people who'll hopefully listen and like.
We're supposed to work on the 5th song this weekend but I'm not going anywhere today. My life feels like a mess - my room is a mess, I need to work out my finances - I've spent so much money since Christmas and in February alone that I need to really budget things now.....and PLUS - I haven't hit the kickboxing gym or jogged regularly or danced regularly in months and I'm....*sob* gaining weight......these pants which were so gorgeous and comfy on me are now tight - WAY tight :( They look awful and it's not just that - it's a lot of my clothes :( Stupid winter lethargy. So I'm getting back in shape and getting control of all areas of my life - and first things first, I am cleaning my room! An organized room and organized closet are the first signs of an organized LIFE.
And seeing as how I just woke up, it's time to get breakfast and start my day! See ya'll later!

Hey Suni :) yes, you're right - many christians believe homosexuality isn't right because they say the
Bible states that Adam had only a female mate and that the new testament authors also state homosexuality is bad.
But what many people who are Christian don't EVER question is WHY they are taught these things - WHO was the kind of person
who wrote that homosexuality was bad - did they even ever actually say that or was that just added in later by someone
and taught over and over so that people came to naturally believe it and didn't question it anymore? And if some
professed Christian or Jewish Rabbi did believe homosexuality was bad - why were HIS views attributed as divinely inspired
and as the view of God? I could stand up right now and say all people who have a black mark on their face are sinful to God
and create such a strong following of equally prejudiced-thinking people that hundreds of years from now this form of thinking would blossom into a full-fledged
religion and preached until everyone believed it to be
the word of God. How much of what Christians believe to be the 'truth' and 'word of God' actually IS? If you want to
believe it's divinely inspired and that it IS truth - that's fine - but don't go making laws by it and enforcing what you
believe to be the truth upon other people who don't share your views! Go create your own little community that only
allows people who think like you and make rules there - don't make a blanket rule to affect people who don't even think like you! That's tyranny!
Many scholars today say Adam and Eve are just allegorical symbols - not literal people who ever existed. This is in the same way
many mythologies and religions taught that certain Gods or a God or Godess existed, and that certain men and women existed
who did great acts for this God or those Gods. The same applies to Christianity and Judaism as well but staunch believers
of a religion will, of course, argue 'No way it's just made up - it's REAL. Adam and Eve really existed! Homosexuality
really IS bad in the eyes of God.' Blah blah blah.
Why are the lessons and views of a nomadic group of people (the Jews) given such weight in the Western world? As a student of history and many different
cultures I've learned how winners often re-write history and their views & beliefs become law and the accepted norm.
This was the case with Greeks, Romans and any ruling empire or religion. When the Assyrian and Babylonian empires
were conquered, their religions (which everyone believed as much as we believe in the Christian and Jewish religions) were
replaced by the conquering culture's beliefs and institutions. Homosexuality was NOT always believed to be wrong. It is
sad that the views of people who were close-minded and prejudiced became codified into stories and lectures that were
taught over and over and accepted as established religion and called the Word of God. People used the Bible to argue
that blacks and anyone colored weren't children of God, and used the Bible to denigrate women.
Today, much of the Western world accepts Christian views on everything from the existence of God, Jesus to the rules and
lessons in the Bible as fact and use it to argue against such things as homosexuals getting equal rights. It's a clear case
of the winners (Christian expansion in Europe due to the bloody crusades) converting the masses by war and winning such that
their views are now held far and wide to be correct and unquestioned. If you dared to question the facts of what they
said were in the Bible, you were killed/tortured or something like Galileo and Copernicus - who by the way only questioned
and tried to show that the Earth wasn't the center of the universe - a fact we KNOW now.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I'm not comfortable with homosexuality either - I'm not used to it, it kinda freaks me out when I see 2 guys or girls kissing. However, thank the Lord, I'm able to be mature enough & wise enough to rise above my own personal feelings and realize that just because *I* am uncomfortable with
homosexuality doesn't give me or anyone else the right to deny homosexuals equality in ALL areas of human life. Whatever your views or personal opinions on homosexuality may be, witholding equal marriage rights
to them is discriminatory and wrong. Under the eyes of the law, all humans have the same rights - regardless of color, creed or sexual orientation.
One day - ONE GLORIOUS DAY - seeing 2 guys walking down the street holding hands will be normal and no one will be weirded out by it.
One glorious day people will finally realize that love is love, whether between a man and woman or woman and woman or man and man and that's that.

Andy wow! thank you :) you just made my day! LOL! :D When do I sleep - good question! I'm still trying to find the answer to that ;) What can I say except that pursuing all my interests and passions makes me a happy person :) But I sleep. A lot. I need my 8-10 hours or I might chew someone's head off ;) It's very nice to meet you :)
Lydia LOL! Chris Rock said that? hahahaha that's SO funny! I thought he did a great job at the Oscars on Sunday. By the way, I was reading the NY Post's Page Six and watching the 'Fashion Police' and certain commentators couldn't stop beating up on Renee Zellweger who I thought looked WONDERFUL. They said she was too scrawny but hello - she looked great! Did you see her beautiful arms? They were muscular and toned - gorgeous. She looked so good I can't believe people would call HER scrawny! The media is way to obsessed with people's bodies - fat, thin - who the hell cares? Sheesh.
Jade and Miyu-chan why don't you guys come on AIM and we do a group chat or something? Miyu-chan I rarely see u online on IM anymore! *sob* we still need to do that road trip!
I thought I wouldn't be back home till way late today because I had planned to be with the mixing engineers to work on my cd tonight but one of the guys wasn't feeling well so we cancelled. I hope he feels better. Everyone is coming down with something lately - keep reading in the paper about the avian flue (Bird Flu "epidemic" in Asia) and how the world is just helpless for the eventual flu pandemic that should strike sometime soon. Great news.
It snowed a ton here last night - woke up and helped my dad shovel the snow and was able to catch the 11am train in to work after heavily debating if the roads were good to travel on.....the whole world was so pretty on our tree-lined wooded residential section - all white and glittering.....until we finally got to the downtown part of the city and saw the slush and grossness. Blech.
Snowy days like this make me want to curl up with my Calvin & Hobbes comic books :D Tuesday night....what should I do.....I think I'll change into my comfy victoria's secret pajamas, make myself some hot cocoa and finish reading my newspapers and magazines. I have threshold motions to work on but I'm too tuckered out to work now....maybe tomorrow.
Hope everyone had a great day and see you guys tomorrow :D

Oscars Glamour & the snow is coming!
How gorgeous was Gwyneth Paltrow at last night's Oscars? I *loved* her dress! The Oscars were very nice though so LONG.
I also loved Gisele's dress! She has the same dress (almost) as one of my victorian dolls!
Went to Ashish's studio yesterday and the music for Oblivion is coming along nicely :) Right now, I'm home & feeling sick - I think I ate something bad last night - I woke up feeling sick to my stomach and have been nauseous all morning - barely eating anything cause I'm scared of hurling! That and I'm watching for the storm - they're predicting a HUGE storm to fall over NY this afternoon through tonight and tomorrow as well. I just went out to get the mail and the sky is WHITE - matches the snow already on the ground perfectly. The wind's blowing and I can *feel* the snow coming ;)
My boyfriend just told me Oprah's show is having a big Oscar program so I'm gonna watch. It was nice to be home today - got to see Regis and Kelly (I love that show - I miss Kathy Lee but I love Kelly too! She's HYSTERICAL and so pretty!) and I even tried the Tony Danza show. All good :) I'm gonna go rest and read in bed. See ya'll later :)
Oh before I go: Memory go to archaeological.org (I think thats the website) and sign up to be a member - read up on their packages and pay for the best membership deal you can afford. I hope you go to school in Philly - it's only a stone's throw away from NYC! :) Jade Your weekend sounds fabulous :) Pigging out at mom's is always the best :D I saw Alexander when it first came out and loved it - my review is somewhere on this blog ;) Loved Colin Farrel in it! But as for the gay thing - Miyu-chan says it's common knowledge and that's what I read too but I also learned it's still debated heavily - whether bisexual, straight, gay or just experimental ;) I'd have to study and research more on my own before I came to a conclusion. Jamal to use the Slooh program, after you signed up and login, you click to enter the mission and from there click on the 'view chat room' and enter the slooh chat - any questions you have - the people there will answer. Turn on your speakers too so that you can hear the Slooh Radio where they narrate some missions too! :) If you want I can coordinate a time to be on the same time you are and walk you through it although I'm very new to the program too! :) Paul Mazzola hi there, how about being online pen pals instead? :)
Alright, I'm out to rest - ciao :)

Ok so you guys know how I'm totally into ancient civilizations and ancient cultures and LOVE archaeology right? (If you didn't know, you do now) Well I'm a member of the Archaeological Institute of America and its New York chapter and through it I always gets lots of interesting invites to archeological lectures and exhibitions but I rarely ever have the time to GO; *however*, yesterday I got the most intellectually exciting of invitations to attend The International Historical and Archaeological Conference on “Alexander the Great and his Era”. It's an all-day event on Saturday March 12th at the Olympic Tower Atrium on 5th Avenue in the city. I'm definitely going! They have amazing speakers from all over Greece and the rest of Europe and from some of the best schools here in the U.S. too! I'm especially interested in what Professor Hugo Meyer of Princeton University has to say about the 'Holy Shield of Ilion' - that looks SO interesting! I think my friend Sashi and/or her husband Andreas might be interested in this. I'll pass on the word!
Woke up this morning and had a bunch of errands to run - had to return all my victoria's secret stuff and lugged the heavy box to the post office where 2 women joked with me on how the boxes were bigger than I was ;) After dropping the boxes off there and at the UPS drop off, I saw how awful my nails looked and went to a nail salon I hadn't been to since last, like, August and the women greeted me like I was long lost family - I got an awesome shoulder and back massage and my nails look gorgeous! :) Went and picked up dry cleaning, picked up some tea pots etc for my mom, the new issue of Town & Country Magazine which I LOVE now and finally came back home only to go back out for lunch! Back home now and have to cherindih some coconuts for mummy and then I settle in to work on some threshold motions for work, read the Saturday newspaper, watch some tv and relax! :) Better get started cause it's almost 3:30!
I responded to all msgs in the entry below. *HUGS* to all :)

I love the clothes I got from Venus Swimwear - they're perfect practically every time! I almost ALWAYS love and keep everything I order from them - everything fits GORGEOUSLY! Try them :)
I'm going to keep this entry short cause I'm very tired and need good sleep! Last night it snowed, we had a 1 hour delay at work - hectic work day with lots to do and I got a horrible headache towards the end of the day - Mekha (one of my 3 little sisters) had an interview with the psychology grad program at Columbia University and she did SO wonderful at the interview - I met her for dinner at 5 and we went to TGIFriday's and had shrimp and it was just very nice :) Lord I'm sleepy.
Callie *HUG* sweetie everybody DOES know Adam and Adora were twins ;) the 'hook up' thing in the fwd was meant as a joke ;) Miyu-chan you nodded too? YAAAY! :) the 80's rocked but let's keep that safely in the past ;) if big hair and flourescent stuff came back I think I'd go nuts ;) I'm more into the late 90's and early 2000's fashions - I love wide-leg/flared pants and love belly-baring tops - I think it helps keep people in shape! I'm not too crazy about the 'prim/proper' 50's trend in fashion right now - I think it makes girls look older and I look so young and short so I like a youthful, fun, sexy feel to my outfits - whether it's sexy-sophisticated or sexy-cute or sexy-athletic or just sexy-sexy ;)
Tabithaaaaa *HUGS* I love YOUR journal :) I miss Fraggle Rock!!! That was SUCH a fun show! I loved when they went to the 'human world' ;) Lady omg! Jay won??? But he was so MEAN! what happaned to Wendy and Kara? Darlene awwwww GOOD LUCK SATURDAY ON YOUR EXAM!!!! *HUGGGGGGGGGG* lemme know how it turns out ok? I know you'll do great!!! Congrats on almost finishing the thesis by the way! :) Sarah Beth LOL! you were younger than ME when He-Man and She-Ra were on! I am really surprised you remember *HUGS* :) How're the wedding plans coming? Memory thanks for thinking of me and I know what you mean about thinking about cultural things from their point of view - however, regardless of what they think of our 'captial punishment' (which I'm against), it doesn't change the fact that what they're doing in punishing that little girl for her uncle's misdeeds is wrong. Just goes back to that whole '2 wrongs don't make a right' or 'wrongs don't justify other wrongs' I know how you feel though.
Jane thank you for recommending L'Occitane! I've actaully NEVER tried them - was never excited by their products but since you suggested it, I think I'll go and take a look next time I'm at the mall :) Jade LOL! Keanu is just AWESOME :) What did you think of Constantine? How's your week been? *HUGS* I'm sorry I took so long to respond to you - your msgs in the comment box cracked me up with the 'beep' ;) LOL!
ok guys I have to sleep. I'm soooo exhausted. See ya'll tomorrow :) *HUGS*

11:05 p.m.
evening folks :) so much happened today! my friend Stella at work is leaving! I'm so sad about that and sorry to see her go but she'll be happy working with her husband in their jewelry business in the New Jersey mall......her uncle opened up a brand new salon on 35th & 8th so during lunch she took me to the salon for its grand opening and I got 30% off a manicure! Painted my nails in Essie's "Ballet Slippers" and it looks so pretty :) They served wine and cookies - was fun and a very nice place :)
This evening I went with friends after work and saw CONSTANTINE! Keanu Reeves was amazing - such a fantastic actor. And Gavin Rossdale (Gwen Stefani's husband and Beck singer) was a wonderful actor as well - I completely forgot he had anything to do with Gwen - he was so convincing in his role as Balthazar. It was a very good movie overall :) GO SEE IT :D
I have a new What the $#$%%^ to write about today that I read about in today's paper:
Girl, 2, ordered to wed in Pakistan
A tribal council in Pakistan has ordered the betrothal of a 2-year old girl to a man 40 years older to punish her uncle for an alleged affair he had with the 42 year old's wife. The council decreed the girl must marry the 42 year old (who is actually her uncle's cousin) when she turns 18. The 42 year old divorced his 32-year old wife over her alleged affair with his 20-year old cousin. The 20 year old is a bachelor and has no children.
So lemme break this down for ya - because 2 stupid people screw around and get caught, the tribal council is gonna punish the guy by marrying off his 2 yr old niece to an old geezer? How is that punishing the 20 year old?? Sounds to me like they're punishing that poor baby girl! At 18 she has to marry a freakin practically almost 60 year old??? WHAT DID SHE DO WRONG TO BE PUNISHED EXCEPT HAVE THE MISFORTUNE TO BE BORN INTO AN AWFUL FAMILY WITH AN IDIOT OF A 20 YEAR OLD UNCLE?
Excuse my language but that is so f---ed up!
Well aside from the usual awful news making me SO mad whenever I open up a newspaper, here's something that DID make me laugh :)
A Boise, Idaho ordinance bans complete nudity at all gentleman clubs (strip clubs) but one strip club has challenged that ordinance by distributing pencils and sketch pads to patrons during "art night." Turns out this ordinance allows nudity only for artistic displays like dance, ballet and dramatic performances, so every Monday and Tuesday the club encourages customers to sketch the models during nude routines a.k.a. 'art night' ;)
LOL! This world.....so much horror, tragedy, and ugliness and yet so much love, humour and beauty. All part of life.
It's almost my bed time and I need to get good sleep cause I'm back in the NJ studio tomorrow night to work on the mixes of my 4 songs. WOO HOO! :) See ya'll tomorrow night late or Thursday :) I'll respond to ALL msgs on Thursday :) *HUGS* to my friends who left me msgs :)

12:19 p.m.
snow, snow everywhere! up where I am it's still falling. So pretty. I have to head out in a bit and help papa shovel the snow. I just woke up though :) It's too bad the snow fell today instead of tomorrow because then we could've gotten the day off work! :) As it is, they gave us President's Day off and with this snow, there's no way I can head out to New Jersey so I'm going to enjoy the day at home and work on the rest of my 6 threshold motions for work.
mummy made pancakes :) yum :D so did anyone watch the re-run of Project Runway yesterday on Bravo? I've only seen like 1 other episode and it was just a clip while I was waiting at a salon for a manicure so yesterday is when I really sat and watched it and I don't understand why everyone hates Wendy so much - I LIKE her - she didn't do anything wrong I could see. Everyone is so mean to her it made me feel bad for her! What could she have possibly done in the show to warrant that? Even the selection of the orange? Come on - she didn't do that to copy the other girl - she selected orange and that was that. Agh whatever. May the best designer win!
Meanwhile, kudos to the SIMPSONS for airing an episode about same-sex marriage! Patty Bouvier came out of the closet! (Ya know, Marge's sister?) I am 100% FOR homosexual rights and marriage! I believe being homosexual is genetic and that they are children of God just like any of us and it's the fault of human kind's own dark prejudices and dislikes that enforces an 'evil' or 'sinful' mark upon other humans whether because of the color of their skin, religion or sexual orientation. I am sick of people saying things like 'I'm personally against it' and then depriving other people of equal rights. It's the same attitude people had towards blacks in the 1950s and 1960s - there was so much dislike and discrimination of blacks because of the color of their skin and culture. Same applies today to homosexuals but everyone - white, black, male and female is now guilty of this similar prejudice because now all of them can join together in their mutual dislike of homosexuality. Homosexuality is now 'the other' - the foreign, the unknown - the ok thing to hate. It takes a very liberal and open-minded person to realize homosexuals are NOT that way by choice, alone, but are oriented this way from their very DNA or brain or hormone makeup. They're different from us but that doesn't mean we go and make rules depriving them of the same rights we enjoy. Even if it WAS purely by choice - who the hell CARES??? Since when do we put rules on other people's personal choices as to WHOM to love and marry?????? You put rules on people not to steal, murder or commit adultery. You don't put a RULE on WHOM TO LOVE AND MARRY! I read a letter to the editor in my newspaper yesterday where some old lady was harping about marriage being between a man and a woman - I'm like 'what the hell - who're you to say marriage is between man and woman alone?' Marriage is a ceremonial committment of 2 people to love each other - whether these 2 people are men, women, or both! Jeez louise people - wake up and stop being prejudiced and discriminatory. I can't stand homoPHOBIA. I'll be honest - homosexuality makes me uncomfortable, I'm not used to it, BUT, BUT, BUT and ANOTHER BIG BUT - I AM 100% FOR and will ALWAYS BE 100% FOR equal rights for homosexuals because they're beautiful, good people TOO and nothing by way of sexual orientation changes that! And I wish people would realize that too!
ok, end rant.
Gee I wonder how many conservative "you're not a real christian" emails I'll get now ;) You'd be surprised - the other day someone left me a comment on the comment box (which I promptly deleted and banned the author of) who said he found my blog by mistake because of the word 'christian' (my site tracker showed someone searching for 'christian dior dresses' - not very christian is that? ;)) and when this person saw the word 'christian' under my faith and read my journal he didn't think i was very christian because of my love for shopping, shoes etc etc. I can't believe the idiocy of some people. Can't stand people like that - they'll never know the TRUE meaning of christianity and of godliness which, among other things, is not to judge others because you're no saint either and only God above knows who is truly his child. So I shop, and love shoes, so I support homosexual rights and I am also pro-choice in abortion rights, I also have a very close and personal relationship with God and pray to Him every night and I KNOW, *KNOW* that I *FEEL* Him in my heart and *KNOW* I have not done anything sinful to him in my stances and things I support. I have peace in my heart - others don't - they're over-zealous and rampant - screaming damnation upon others - believing strongly that what they believe is right, and everyone else wrong. There's no way to prove they're right, or we're right. EVERYTHING is faith-based with one arguing their faith is right and everyone else mistaken or ill-informed. *roll eyes* in the end, we'll know - when we're all dead.
I think I got the political rants out of me for now - haven't written about political views in a while - long overdue ;)
Finished my pancakes while writing this and am now off to shovel the driveway. See ya'll later!

04:53 p.m.
the snow is coming! the snow is coming! we're on a winter watch alert - first it was 4 inches, then 6 inches, now it's 8 inches! Snow's supposed to start this evening, go all night, and almost all day tomorrow - which sucks cause I was hoping to head out to New Jersey to meet with the mixing engineers and finish the engineering of the 4 songs - but with the snow and my dad's "you're off tomorrow so you can help me shovel the snow" I'm home-bound! Well hopefully the snow'll clear up by mid-day tomorrow and I can head out in the afternoon - the cd's supposed to be mastered next Sunday and I still haven't laid the tracks for the 5th/final song which is worrying me even though it's so simple and beautiful....
Some new goodies I'm going to buy when I get my new paycheck in 2 weeks:
Click on the images to go to the sites and order. The first will help keep my myriad of leather and suede boots in shape, and the latter will help...um..keep ME in shape ;) Hollywood Fashion Tape is necessary for girls I think because we always wear dresses and things that sometimes show just a BIT too much (inadvertantly) - so this stuff helps :)
Looking outside and it's all grey and overcast....it FEELS like snow in the air.......I love the moments before a snow storm or thunderstorm - when the world gets all quiet and dark and expectant - when all the animals (squirrels etc) disappear and you don't see birds anywhere....everything's hushed and waiting for the storm to hit.....it's beautiful.....
Lady Jeanne you KNOW the girl who sells the whipped shea butter!?? WAI!! WAII!! Hook me up pretty please :D LOL! I'm such a sucker for beauty products. I wound up signing up for this Beverly Hills Hydroderm wrinkle serum thingamajig even though I don't have a single wrinkle (hey! never too early to start protecting your skin though!) and by signing up for the free trial for the stuff I somehow enrolled in a program to automatically receive a new supply every 30 or 60 days at a low price - I gotta cancel it after it comes - stupid me. I'm eyeing her brownie/chocolate soaps right now.....it's SOOO tempting....I could really go for a brownie right about now too......that site again for those of you interested: everythingshea.com.
Sarah Beth I can't wait for the wedding! I've been IMing you like crazy but you've been idle for like HOURS it says ;) 30 pounds lost? OMG!! I have to see you!! I love Apricot Scrub :)
Lorie oh my goodness - deck out my phone in sailormoon or love of xanga?? oh no no nooooo.....first, I don't love xanga and I don't even use it - I have this lovely pitas blog :) Second, while I DO love SailorMoon, and it's one of MANY anime and manga characters and stories I passionately love, keep in mind I'm also a 28 year old attorney and other professionals would see the phone ;) no matter how much a child at heart I am, I still have a grown up sense of style - having sailormoon on your phone screams immaturity and tackiness...maybe a really beautiful manga image of selenity like the one here on this journal could be done nicely but again - to have that on a cellphone would seem a tad....tacky....the blue floral design I chose is much more in keeping with my sense of feminine & girlish style and I am VERY much about style :D I keep sailormoon and anime/manga related designs for my desktop and web-layouts and for use as art decoration in paintings and collectibles in my home - I would never dream of having it on my ipod or mp3 player or cellphone...those things call for something more classier or stylistic. What would you choose as a design for your phone?
Suni awwww and here's 3 ---<-{@ ---<-{@ ---<-{@ roses for you :) *HUGS* how's ur week and weekend been? Jade boy do I know how you feel! Us kindred minds should stick together! War is never the solution. I haven't read an issue of TIME in so long...I'm knee deep in back issues of Archaeology and Mysteries magazines now :)
ok ppl I am out! see ya'll after the snow :)

3:19 p.m.
why in the heck does my Saturday newspaper have the Sunday comics in them?? NOOOOO!! It took a lot of effort to ignore the Sunday comics and put them aside to enjoy tomorrow. They're even dated 'Sunday, February 20, 2005'! Meanwhile, today's "Rose is Rose" made me laugh cause that's SOOOO like me:
My parents came back from Las Vegas last night - they went because of papa's company's trip - they had seminars and stuff and gambled and saw a ton of the casinos. I miss Las Vegas! Ricky and I went there almost every summer the past few years. Can't wait to go back again this summer. We went and got them at 1:30 a.m. and didn't get back home till 3a.m. and my sister Nithi had to leave to go to Barbados on vacation with her friends this morning so I wound up being awoken at 7am since she slept in my bed and her friends in our guest rooms. I am SOOOOOOOO tired. I wound up getting sleep till 11:30am this morning but still not enough ;)
So I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE lotions and creams and stuff right? And I found this new cream I'm in love with:
It has the consistency of whipped cream cheese and sinks into your skin. Shea butter comes from the nuts of the shea tree and has been used for centuries as a skin soother. This nut fat is high vitamins A, E and minerals. Whipped Shea Butter contains more than 55% shea butter, along with other oils such as luxurious, moisturizing meadowfoam seed, and the natural antioxidant, vitamin E. All of these good ingredients made for instant relief of winter ravaged skin. The site everythingshea.com reports Whipped Shea Butter can be used for all your skin care needs including relief of sunburn pain, for massage, & as a hair conditioner! Get yours for $19.95 at everythingshea.com
:)
One last thought for today - one good thing came from the tragic tsunamis.....an Ancient City in India Uncovered by the Tsunamis: Perhaps it's the legendary 7 Pagodas? In Mahabalipuram, India, archaeologists began underwater excavations of an ancient city and parts of a temple uncovered by the tsunami off the coast of a centuries-old pilgrimage town.
I have a ton of work to today - tons of threshold motions to write and work on. Thought I'd be working on music today but haven't heard otherwise so best I get to work. See ya'll later :)

1:27 p.m.
oh godddd I am on 4 hours of sleep and am somehow managing to be productive ;) it's lunch hour and I'm back at work. Last night I went to this awesome studio in Spotswood, New Jersey where the engineers have their studio called Firedog Studio. It's SO beautiful - reminded me of where I grew up in Patterson/Carmel in upstate NY. With a gorgeous recording room, state of the art recording equipment and tools, we re-cut the vocals on HUSH and STEAL YOUR HEART AWAY - I sang gorgeously and I'm just so excited that in 2 weeks my cd will be DONE, DONE, DONE! :D I love the engineer guys - they're so cool and fun and patient :) I wound up getting the train at New Brunswick and having a conversation with this guy who had a strange growth on the side of his head - I tried to avoid looking at it but I couldn't help it! I was praying so hard that I'd make it back from the woods of New Jersey to Penn Station in NYC in time to catch my 1:30 train (the LAST train) from Grand Central back on up to NY and, thank God, I made it. GCT closes at 1:30 and doesn't open till 5:30 a.m. If I'd missed that trai I would've been stuck in the city ALL NIGHT!! Not safe for a girl like me. Got home at 2-something and didn't go to bed till it was almost 3am.
I got a daily subscription to The Journal News - the local daily newspaper for Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties and was reading all about the car bomb in Lebanon that killed the ex-prime minister. What saddens me is how that death and car bomb is leading the country to strife and turmoil now - to where the lebanese citizens are assaulting syrian citizens of Lebanon in the street, and breaking the windows of a syrian bakery and worse. They're blaming Syria for the car bomb and because Syria has soldiers and citizens living in Lebanon, they want Syria OUT - these feelings exist because of an awful bloody civil war they had until 1975.......it's terrible - the newspaper author wrote that with the ex-minister's death, a powerful moderate voice was permanently silenced and now the extremists are the only loud voices being heard. Syria's Ambassador to the U.S. was quoted as saying that it's illogical to presume Syria is the cause of the car bomb - they have nothing to gain from something like this - I agree - why should the whole Syrian gov't be blamed for the actions of a man or small organization? Why would Syria orchestrate something like this that would wreak havoc upon the nation and throw the country back to 1975 terror?
I disagree with our country's decision to withdraw our Ambassador to Syria in protest. For starters, it hasn't even been PROVED the Syrian gov't had ANYTHING to do with this car bombing. Why are we withdrawing an ambassador in protest? Condoleeza Rice was quoted as saying that "the Syrian problem was a serious problem and that our government always had problems with the Syrian gov't. Apparently, (according to a friend I work with) Syria is next on Bush's hit list - Syria and Iran - for sponsoring terorrism etc. I'm going to become a full fledged activist anti-war demonstrator if we go attacking Syria or Iran.
Anyway, more on that later. In other news, turns out a painting attributed to the artist Fra Bartolomeo - the 'Adoration of the Christ Child' - might actually be a painting by Leonardo Da Vinci (one of my most favorite painters and inventors)! Fingerprints and stylistic touches uncovered during the painting's restoration are being studied to determine if Da Vinci is actually the artist! Apparently, scholars had never been confidant on the authorship of the painting but had attributed it to Bartolomeo for decades nevertheless.
Also in other news, turns out coffee is good for the liver! ;) Good news for Starbucks lovers :D I still drink my starbucks de-caf though :D
Susan have fun at ur bro-in-law's wedding!! :) Tell me all about it when you get back! :) Zain thank you very much! Happy belated Valentine's to you too! Jade LOL! *HUGS* I hope ur v-day was awesome. 12:33 a.m. - past midnight east
after midnight and I just finished working.....I need sleep!
After wanting to do this FOREVER, I'm going to finally do it - I'm going to *drum roll please* - decorate my cell phone.
It's a tad pricey but worth it because my cell phone (bought early 2004) does everything: video phone, txt, voice dial, records videos etc, and now it even has tv (mobi-tv) and I recently tried out the channels (MSNBC, NBC, CBS and even Fashion TV!)) and it's in almost perfect condition - Sprint :) I love Sprint :)
This is what my phone looks like now and this is the design I'm getting done to it:
It's exactly me :) Floral and feminine and pretty, calm shades of blue which I love :)
Ok time to sleep :) I responded to all msgs in my VALENTINE'S DAY ENTRY BELOW :D

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Yes I love Valentine's Day. All the more because I have my Ricky to share it with :) He sent me a dozen red roses at work today - they were SO beautiful and he wrote the most beautful sentiment on the card about how this gift was a token of all the love he had for me and all the love yet to come :) Melted my HEART! So mushy - but when ur on the receiving end u can't help but love it :D Isn't this animated gif to the left too cute? ;) I like how the girl gets to choose b/t her suitors ;) LOL!
I stayed up to watch the Grammy's last night - it was by far the BEST Grammy's show I have seen in AGES! Evert performance was spectacular! My favorites were the country performance and Alicia Key's! I love Gretchen Wilson and Keith Urban! I filled out 80 valentines for everyone at work while watching and left them on everyone's desk this morning - but I wound up STILL forgetting people. I can't believe I know MORE then 80 ppl at work.
Susan thank you! Happy V-Day to you too! You're leaving April 15th to go where?? I can't wait to see India again!! Better roads? Woo hoo! :) Jade Happy V-day! DOing nothing but talking to my Ricky :) You re-size the image using the "resample" feature on paintshop pro. Resample with the ratio of the image included. Don't manually resize it or html-resize - the first warps the image and the 2nd doesn't really resize it AND warps it. And as for lack of bf - PISH! I say go out, have a drink, hang with ur friends (guys and gals) and have FUN - a great guy will come into your life when the time is right :) Benji well nice to meet you and hey back! Amberrose499 um the Geiha what? Tenzing/Sonu hi and nice to meetcha! Welcome to one of my many, MANY webpages (I have like a zillion)! Good luck with designing. Lorie awww I am so happy for you! CHange of jobs is always good :) *HUGS* I wanna hear the details! Must visit your blog! Nikki thanks :) unfortunately, no time to email you sites but check out the links at usagiandmamoru.com :) Mayra hiii and yaay for February 6 girls! :D I wish you all the success in making it into law and being a lawyer! You live in Miami? I've always wanted to visit :) I've lived in NY almost my whole life! It's so nice to meet you. Please do visit again :) Evan hey there and thank you! I'm Christian because St. Thomas visited India and spread Christianity there. My church descends from the 1st followers of Thomas in India.
Ok I have to go do a TON of work now - see ya guys all later and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

LOL! I love reading the Sunday comics!! Fox Trot is one of my favorites! Read today's! Click the comic to see the full strip so you can read it better.
Exactly - if my hubby did that for me I think that would be SO romantic but of course I better get flowers too ;)
In addition to Foxtrot, I also love Cathy, Luann, Curtis, Garfield, *always* Calvin & Hobbes, Peanuts (of course), B.C.....Rose is Rose....what else...oh Hagar the Horrible and the Family Circus, For Better or Worse, Beatle Bailey, Blondie, Wizard of Id, Hi & Lois....and of COURSE the one with that married couple with the sarcastic comments all the time? He's bald and she's middle aged housewife? Oh what's the name??......THE LOCKHORNS!!! That's it :) I used to love The Far Side - want to collect the comic books of it now. I have all the Calvin & Hobbes I think ;)
Such a beautiful Sunday and I have so much work to do. Wouldn't it be nice to do nothing but lazy around all morning with the Sunday comics? Ah well.
Next weekend I was supposed to visit Ricky in Los Angeles (L.A.) for President's Day weekend/holiday. But now because he has a baptism on Saturday to attend, and he can't get out of work on Monday, it limits how much we can see each other and he doesn't think I should come :( I was so looking forward too :( This sucks. Well, I'm not going to lose hope yet. I'll wait till Wednesday to cancel the tickets.
I have good news though! Remember how I said I'm going to India this April for my couin Princy's wedding? The tickets are booked! I fly out Friday April 15th and come back on the 23rd! It's not a lot of time but at least I'm going again! I haven't been back in India since 1996!! I can't wait to see all my family - all my cousins - I have a TON and now they're all married with kids and so it's just going to be SOOOO much fun :D
I've been writing online for half an hour and have to start my day now. I'll see ya'll later - will respond to all msgs later too!

12:55 p.m.
just woke up. sorry for not writing in days - been VERY busy. Went out last night with friends for my birthday celebration. We met up at Benihana - 47 West 56th Street in midtown and we had such a blast! It's a Japanese restaurant hibachi-style where the chefs cook for you at your table. I had made reservations this past Monday for 8pm but they messed up! They had my party down for 7pm and so the guy I spoke to was nice and moved our party to 8pm but said our entire party had to be complete at 8. Well by the time I left home and got there it was 8:30 ;) I had so much trouble getting a cab! It was like every cab in NYC that night was full! I had to walk all the way to 6th Avenue from Grand Central before I was able to hail a cab and I usually never have trouble hailing cabs. Anywayz, my friend James came but I think he'd already drank WAAAYYY too much and he hit on one of my friends and then somehow left our party and wandered away somewhere else - he wound up calling me from Avalon - a night club downtown and asking if we could come down there! He's such a character - really funny and with a great heart - but by that time it was like after 11:30/close to midnight and I didn't want to miss my last train home at 1:30. My friend Andreas - Sashi's wonderful husband - told the people at the place it was my bday so they wound up bringing over this birthday dessert thing for me at the end - it was so sweet - and they all sang Happy Birthday and then in Japanese they did some singing too and it was all just too sweet :)
Today is a bright sunny day and I have a TON of work to do. I need to jog my 4 miles - I haven't jogged or worked out in months and it's showing - I want to get back in shape and the only proven way is to go back to working out.
Music is coming along well. I think the engineering on 3 or 4 of the songs are all done - Ash and I'll work on the 5th song tomorrow and this coming week and they'll engineer it next week and VOILA - DONE :D I do my mastering and duplication and I'll have my cd!
I need to do a lot of work now so I'll see ya'll later. Respond to all msgs later too.

08:28 p.m.
I learned an important shopping lesson today: when I want something that looks fabulous on me and I really, REALLLLLLY love it, regardless of price, I should buy it.
Some of you may remember that a few weeks ago I went shopping in Soho and stopped at the Ralph Lauren boutique and saw this GORGEOUS size small white sleeveless puffy down vest / jacket with a fur collar - it looked *gorgeous* on me. But I decided not to buy it because it was SO expensive and instead asked the sales clerk to call and let me know when the price went down. Well, I decided to call today and ask about it and turns out they sold it. And they can't find another store with it :( And even if they did, it certainly wouldn't be available in size small. It's gone, sold out, and although I searched polo.com and all the internet - can't find it. That made me very sad because I'm 4 ft 8.5" tall and weigh 100 pounds and finding things that actually FIT me & look good on me is very hard. Plus I'm very into clothing and fashion and it makes me happy to wear things that make me look my best. Next time, I don't care how expensive, I'm buying whatever it is that I REALLLLY love. But ONLY if I really love it :)
Went to court today - Brooklyn Supreme at Willoughby - wore these stupid knee high brown suede high heel boots from Skechers (whom I normally LOVE) that I bought last fall and they hurt the bejeezus out of my toes - this is the 5th or 6th time I wore them and they still hurt!! Even buying Dr. Scholl's "corn cushion" thingamajigs didn't help ease the pressure put on the sides of my pinky toes. Stupid boots. Now I need a new pair of brown suede boots ;) LOL!
I want new feet. I want slender, non-wide, size 6.5 or 7 size feet. And while I'm at it, I'd like to be anywhere from 5ft-5 to 5ft-7. Hope someone up there's listening! Oh and I'd like to be rich. Thank you very much.
I saw my old friend Sherri from my 1st law firm I worked at! We talked sooo much and we're going to get together some time in March when she gets back from Paris. It was SO good to see her again! She told me everything going on at the old firm. Was so nice.
I passed out invitations to my birthday party today at work. It's going to be at this Japanese hibachi restaurant on the west side here in the city. Hibachi is a style of Japanese cuisine where the chefs cook in front of you at your table (flying eggs, fancy knife tricks) etc :) After dinner I think we'll all head down to some bar or lounge and just chill.
It's 8:30 and I need to get stuff done. Suraj Singh thank you very much! :) you're right - impossible doesn't exist in the dictionary where we come from ;) LOL! Susan *big hugs* thank you VERY much :D hahaha you have a funny driving instructor! Muttering in arabic! And your hubby's teaching you too? awwww how cuteeeeeeeee :D My parents and all my family in India are from Mulanthurithi (they also say Ernakulam District) and the little villages nearby there. Jade thanks babe! *HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG* :D Skot I'll drink to you in Canada when I celebrate on Friday ;) Mubeen why thank you very much! :) Mila thank you SO much! I really hope I do too.......

Happy Birthday to me on Super Bowl Sunday!!!
It's my birthday!!! I had SUCH a nice day!! First off, thank you to everyone who left me birthday wishes on my comment box! *BIG HUGS* I just got home now and to see all those sweet msgs made me feel so good inside. Thank you :)
At midnight, Ricky called me and sang me Happy Birthday :) He was so cute! Mekha (one of my sisters) called and left me a msg, and this morning I got up and went to church with my mom and dad and afterwards we rushed home and had breakfast and cut cake - a football cake!! It was a yellow cake with chocolate icing all in the shape of a football complete with green icing for the grass :) My sister Nithi called and wished me happy birthday from Connecticut and my parents sang me happy birthday and then it was off with my mom to my little twin sisters' place in Long Island for lunch there. We got there around 12:30 or so and spent the afternoon cooking a ton of food: spaghetti, broiled chicken, tuna cutlets, corn and tons more. I ate till I couldn't eat another bite! My sisters loved the cake :) We didn't leave there till 5pm and I just got home now.
Superbowl's almost on!! I watch it more for the commercials and the half-time special! This was such a nice b-day! I can't believe I'm 28! I still don't feel any older than 25! ;) This weekend, I was talking to my friend Sashi, I think I'll do a birthday party celebration with friends - I'm thinking hibachi - you know, the japanese restaurants where they cook the food right in front of you? :) That'd be a lot of fun!
Such a nice weekend....Liz thank you very much! *HUGS* :) Stepahnie thank you too! Good luck with singing and song-writing! I'm constantly writing new songs :) Darlene graduating in May?? Congrats!!! And thank you for the birthday wishes! *HUGS* :) How've you been otherwise? What's new? Lady hahaha thank you my friend *HUGGGGG* :) I shall find the golden shoes! I shall! :D Mark awwwww thank you Mark!! *HUGS* Sailor Callie my parents are going to contribute so I can buy a big new telescope, and my sisters are all getting me dvds of seasons of FRIENDS :) Thank you *HUG* Miyu-chan thank youuuuuuuu! *HUGGGGGGGG* :) Sarah Beth LOL! Superbowl should not be in EITHER of our bdays! :D *HUGS* Angle 17 thank you very much :) It's very nice to meet you. Jade LOL! Thank you!!! Isn't the mp3 player awesome? hahaha *HUGS* Nido thank you for the bday wishes :)
Ok I am out to enjoy the rest of my birthday! Superbowl time!!! YEEEE HAWWWWWWW ;)

what's a girl gotta DO to get a pair of gold diesel sneakers???
I want theeeeeeeeese. Turns out they're like from 2002 fall collection I think and are almost impossible to find now. I bet if I DO find them, they won't be in size 5! I found this cool guy who lives here in the city - his blog is here: Procrastinatory Musings - and turns out he bought these gold sneakers down in Union Square!! They're unisex I think - or were made for women? Doesn't matter. I'm gonna GO and FIND them.
Never doubt the powers of a girl on a mission for shoes!

my eyes hurt. I didn't get home till 1am last night - was recording and working on the music at Ashish's studio last night - I met the engineers - 2 guys named Tom and Kevin - they're so sweet and cool :) The engineers did a great job with the music, my only problem was with how wispy my voice sounded instead of clear and strong like it had been in the original recordings and how there were so many effects added. I have a soft singing voice generally to begin with unless I'm really belting a song out and I'm in peak performance level that day/night so Ash had double voices given to the engineers to work with to do that double effect because when we did the recordings I was recovering from that blasted horrible 8-day cold I had in January - I wanted that double voice effect definitely in two of my dance songs but not the ballads or the alternative-rock song....so I was a tiny bit disappointed with the vocals - but the music's engineering was done beautifully. They're going back to work on the 3 of my songs they presented to me and will begin work on the 4th and 5th songs next week I think? Such cool guys.
so because of the little sleep, my eyes hurt and I can't wait to go to bed now.
Today was national Wear Red Day to generate awareness for the American Heart Association and heart health. My gal pals at work and I had arranged to all wear red today because Macy's on 34th was giving out 15% discount passes to people wearing red - good for clothing and accessories! So my friend Jenn and I went during lunch and we had so much fun! She's such a sweetheart! She's this gorgeous 5 ft 6' blonde and I haven't really hung out with her outside of work but I should really get us all together to do something because she's so cool and funny :) After going through a maze to get to Gift Wrap to get the discount passes, we searched for the Shoe floor (it's on the 5th Fl.) and boy did we shop - I bought 3 BCBG shoes - white, black and this pink floral print thing - so pretty! Did serious damage to my AMEX ;)
Took the train home with my friend Kerry - she's so wild and crazy and cracks me up! On the train she was talking loudly about everything and I'm terribly considerate of people on the train riding home in the evening and try not to talk loudly on my cell or talk loudly in general so I kept trying to shhh her (especially when she brought up topics on sex etc ;)) but she couldn't have cared - she's so free spirited she told me 'I don't care - I can do what I want' and I thought 'wow! I wish I was more like that!' I'm so worried about appearances and stuff sometimes that I don't always just throw caution to the wind and just BE with a "damn what people think" attitude! :) I admire that about her! I even tried to prevent her from talking to this guy with his laptop - she was going to ask him about using his internet connection to search for the directions to this place she needed to go to tonight - and I tried to stop her because I had no idea how he'd react, if he'd be nice, or if he'd look at her like she was crazy but he wound up being sweet :)
I have this eclectic assortment of friends - not all of them mix with the each other well but I find great things about each of them that makes me friends with them. Kerry thinks I'm some sort of 'princess' and that I don't cut loose and get wild enough but lordddd I *have* done that in the past....and just haven't now/recently....and when I hang out with her I feel like she's wild enough for the both of us! So that curbs any need for ME to be wild ;) Now if I was with people who were boring or unadventurous, I'd prolly be drinking shot after shot at a bar and dancing on the tables to compensate but when I'm with people wilder than me - I lose my wildness I guess ;) I hope all of this made sense.
Anywayz, enough writing - time to sleep.
I'll respond to all msgs after I've gotten 12 hours of sleep ;) Night all.

technology, mp3 player & telescope & my birthday
boys and girls, say hello to my new mp3 player: the MuVo TX FM 1GB MP3 PLAYER!! :D
I seriously *love* having cool gadgets and am all about new technology that performs multiple functions. This beautiful mp3 player has 1GB of space, has a 2.0 USB for fast transfer of mp3s from your computer, both downloads to *and* uploads from the player so I can save a song from my pc to the player and transfer it to my laptop for example, and it plays FM radio, records FROM the radio as an mp3 file (how cool is that to hear a song I love on Z100 and record it instantly?), and does voice recording so I can record hours of stuff (lectures, conversations etc), and finally it doesn't just store mp3s, I can save ANYTHING - powerpoint presentations, pdfs, whatever I want to save onto it and upload somewhere else. AND it is SO TINY and was MADE for people to use while exercising so it comes with a special case and arm band and from all the reviews I read it has great performance while running, even Tai Kwon Do! ;)
This is my birthday present to myself! :D
Speaking of, I don't know for sure if I'll be having a party on Sunday or not (I turn 28 on Sunday the 6th! Incidentally, I was also born on a Sunday ;)) - so far a few people told me they could definitely come but I have to hear from the rest. Plus I'm doing a family thing with my parents and sisters - driving down to Mekha and Mili's in Long Island for lunch and my family and I will cut cake there. Whether I have a part in the evening during SuperBowl I'll decide this Friday....
Last night we began the music for Oblivion and Ash got the guitar chords perfect and it was EXACTLY how I'd always heard it in my head and dreamt it would sound! I couldn't believe the song I came up with in 2002 was finally becoming a reality. It sounds so gorgeous! I can't wait to have the finished product! :)
I go back tomorrow night to work on the rest half of that song and do the real vocals I think (?) .... so excited about my mp3 player!!! And my parents will pitch in for the telescope I want! I *think* I'll get the Meade ETX-90....but I'm going to B&H Photo and VIDEO tomorrow during lunch to check out how big that scope actually is - I want something not too big for my room and which isn't too heavy so I can take it with me outside during the summer.
Almost midnight and I have to get to sleep and call my Ricky. Good night everyone :) Will respond to msgs tomorrow or Friday :)

8:17 p.m.
so I'm thinking of having a small party for my birthday Sunday - just a small gathering of really good friends - and I'll have it here at home and we'll watch the Super Bowl :D and since it's good friends, no pressure to entertain and make it something crazy ;) I'll help my mom cook this weekend - good Indian food that everyone'll love :) and of course fattening good junk like chips, and marshmallows, hot cocoa and mmmmmm other good stuff ;)
my friend Marc came back to work today - his mom passed away recently. I took him out for lunch and we talked about everything under the sun. He's such a sweet guy - only 20 years old....so young and he wants to be a nurse. I felt so bad about his mom - he's an only child and his mom was ALL he had (dad had already passed away a long time ago). So it's tough for him right now. By the way girls - he's single and African-American so if you or a girl you know are African American and in the 18-21 range and want to meet him lemme know ;) LOL!
I'm playing matchmaker tonight - I was talking to Ashish before about his friend Pete. Pete's this very cute blonde guy and I have a friend, Andrea, who's a gorgeous blonde from Europe whom I think would possibly make a nice match for him. So I told Ash I'd talk to her tomorrow about Pete. Who knows - maybe I can play Cupid this Valentine's! ;)
I went ahead and booked my flight to L.A. for President's Day weekend! Fun in the sun is only 3 weeks away! :D
Mila awww thank you SO MUCH! *HUGS* That means a lot to me. It's not being released in stores - yet ;) This is my album-quality demo of 5 songs which I'll be selling through cdbaby.com and through my website(s) to recoup on all the costs of production, studio and the cost of the cds themselves. I'll be shopping the cds around to as many industry people as possible and hope someone will listen to it and like it. If someone likes your demo and are associated with a record label, they will back you and do a full album and distribute it and sell it (in stores). :) It's what every artist dreams of....to be signed with a major label who'll put in the time and money to market you and your music and who won't screw you over in the process!
Bix hi there :) I totally believe you. People find me searching the net for Lindsay Lohan pictures! ;) It's weird what the search engines will pick up on blogs ;) A cashmere coat is very nice :) Nice to meet you!
Diana long time no see!! how are you??? No that 'me' guy hasn't come back in years ;) hahahaha enjoy the 6th! Can't believe you're so young! You always acted way mature :)
Tabatha thanks for the link! Will pass it along! Alan thank you! you too! Shaun hi there :) I don't know too many songwriters so it's a pleasure to meet you! I'll send an email on over to you :) Michael and Christine hi there both of you :) Lady awww when I email you I'll try to include the recipe for putih :) You need specific cooking equipment though! You should just visit me in NY :D my mom'll make it for you! LOL! :)
Ok I'm out - see ya'll later :)

10: 31 a.m.
one slightly used chocolate candle for sale ;)
that's right - that chocolate-scented candle I bought from Anthropologie? It smells waaaaaaay too sweet and chocolatey that instead of being pleasant, it's sickening. Only one of my 3 sisters (Mekha) loved it and I told her she could have it but then Mili (her twin and both share an apt) was like 'nooo chechhyyyy hideeeee itttt don't let her stink up our aptttttt' - LOL! I think I'll stick to and light my trusted vanilla candles instead.
We went to this diner in Portchester yesterday for lunch - my sisters and I were like "diner?" but when we got there, typical diner on the outside, not on the inside! The food was FABULOUS! For once my WHOLE family and I loved everything from start to finish. Service was EXCELLENT.
Achhoooo! Lord that was a big sneeze - either someone's talking about me or I might be getting another cold? ;) I'm not superstitious but years of people saying stuff like 'oh your nose itches or you sneezed or your ear rings - it all means someone's talking about u' kinda gets you believing it after a while, almost anyway ;)
I totally re-did and organized my closet yesterday. Took 1/2 the morning and ALLLL night but I (stubbornly) put away my cami's and tanks and sleeveless stuff that was ok to be put in a drawer (it took 3 drawer spaces to fit everything ;)) and I say stubbornly because I'm the kinda girl who likes everythng she owns to be in her closet so I can take one look and see it all to decide what I'll wear. I refused to put anything I actually like and use in drawers (which is nearly everything) until I finally couldn't stand it anymore having to yank stuff out of my closet cause it was in there so tightly or that I actually *couldn't* see what was there cause it was lost between clothing. I have a big closet, but it's not big enough to hold all my jeans, capris, slacks, winter sweaters, long sleeves and t-shirts and camis and tanks and dresses and nightgowns, robes, jackets, coats and court suits. I really need a walk-in closet with double-tiered levels for hangers. So everything's been removed and put either in my sisters' room's closet or in my drawers. My dad wants me to get my own apartment or put all my stuff in the basement ;) LOL.
I'm gonna spend the rest of today cleaning my room & cleaning the bathroom and then finally work on 2 threshold motions (you get $150 a piece for each one you do) to help pay for a ton of expenses I have and whenever I finish THOSE, relax with a good book or a magazine or three ;) My sisters all leave this afternoon but I'll see the twins again next Sunday for my birthday - I still can't believe Superbowl Sunday is on my BIRTHDAY! Why couldn't it be TODAY? What's wrong with January 30th? Sheesh.
So I just finished praying to God - a big huge tear-filled prayer, telling Him to please make this wish of mine come true - to be a huge music success. I really don't want it to be like 'oh so she made a cd but nothing came of it' - it'll be a HUGE sorrow for me - and what's left after that? I just get married and then what? Continue on being an attorney, human rights activist? What about music? I can't....I can't imagine my life without my songs being out there - BY ME - not by anyone else. I just HAVE to succeed. I HAVE to. Sure I'm aware of the reality - the high likelihood that nothing'll happen and that makes me feel terrible - but I'm not gonna sit here and shoot myself in the foot - everytime I doubt and give sway to the hardness of reality that's less motivation and determination I'll have to go after what I want - for now, until I fail, I'm going to keep believing it's gonna happen and do everything I can to make my belief in musical success a self-fulfilling belief/prophecy ;) Doubters don't succeed. Those who believe do! And should I fail.....well.....I gave it everything I got but that'll be little comfort. When you believe in something so passionately, want it to much, unless you succeed, nothing less than success will make you happy. I'm scared. Very scared about the future - but GOD HELP ME - PLEASE HELP ME - to make it! If God's with me, I don't have to be scared. So please, be with me.
Not in a mood now to respond to msgs so will respond tonight or tomorrow.

cleaning, snow, shopping in SoHo
good morning :) I can't believe I actually woke up at 9am on a Saturday! Just finished breakfast - mummy made putih with banana. Snow is on the ground everyrwhere in my backyard and the lake is still covered in ice and snow but I can see some parts of the woods and grass which have cleared up a bit. They say we'll get a fresh coat of snow next week. Hope it snows a lot and we get the day off from work! hehe :D
Today we're going out to lunch to celebrate my parents' birthdays this month! Some restaurant/diner up in Portchester. All my sisters are home (Nithi to be coming home any minute this morning) and I think Mek wanted to get a mani/pedi but I just got one LAST Friday and don't need another yet. Yesterday after work I went shopping in SoHo - visited the Patricia Field's store, didn't find anything, so headed across to Ralph Lauren (you know how much I love his clothes and bags!) and found the most GORGEOUS puffy sleeveless white vest/jacket thing with a fur collar and it fit me perfectly but I almost had a heart attack when I saw the price: $495!! The girl who was helping me was a total sweetheart and she took down my name and info and gave me her card and promised to let me know when the price came down on the jacket so I could get it. I told her all about my karate & kickboxing gym I go to because she was commenting to me how toned and fit I looked and so I gave her the info for the class. Hope she comes - I think she'd love the classes! I hope the jacket price comes down and it doesn't get sold out. *sob* I'm so tempted to just go back and charge it but $500???? I have to spend a lot of money to complete the balance due on my recording of the CD - right now, I cannot afford $500 at ALL! I wish I was rich.
But whatever, after stopping (and not finding anything I liked much to the relief of my wallet) at Dolce & Gabbanna and Max Mara and Max Studio and Anthropologie (where I only bought a chocolate scented candle - it smells like heaven - just lighted it now!) I finally found amazing clothes at this new European-styled place that opened up near the corner of W. Broadway & W. Houston! I wound up buying this gorgeous sleeveless 100% leather black vest (it looks so hot and at an even hotter price - everything in the store was 50% off for the grand opening!) and this very pretty black floral multi-layered cami to wear out clubbing. Those two didn't set me back at ALL. Whew! :) Thank goodness for AMEX though ;)
Ok so enough shopping! All I really need now are suits for court, white & black & brown shoes/sandals, and that white puffy sleeveless vest. That's it! My wardrobe is MORE than complete. (Or so Nishi says until she walks down 34th Street and sees the sales at Express & Forever21.... ;))
This week has been all about shopping it seems but hey - you shop majorly 4x a year - fall, winter, spring and summer. So when you do, go ALL OUT! :D
Ok so my room - usually a very pretty, girly room - is a pig sty right now. I have to clean it and get rid of old clothes I hang on to for no good reason to make room for the new. I just woke up the twins now - they're so cute asleep. Nith came home and I hugged her and made her so cold cause my hands are frozen in this cold room LOL! ok time to clean - have a wonderful Saturday everyone :) Will write more and respond to all msgs tonight! :)

8:10 p.m. EST
oh my goddddd commuting is such a b$tch now on the E line! If you live in the city you know about the fire on the C subway line that has left the C completely unusable for what will be MONTHS - well this affects the A and E lines too - with overcrowding and limited service - it's hell! Using the subways, as it is, is like an 'eat or be eaten' world - people push, shove and act like getting on a subway car is life or death. Wait to let people OFF the trains before getting on? They always say that on the programmed voice on the 6 and other trains, but trying telling THAT to the 200-pound pushy woman who practically shoved me and the girl behind me as we tried to get off the 7 at Grand Central. Meanwhile other people don't think twice to tell ME off if my bag so much as touches their knee ;) I'm way too nice and will apologize for the slightest infraction - I haven't turned into a screaming, irate New Yorker yet despite years being here now - and lemme tell you, I have come close to it when riding the 7 or the 4 & 5 downtown.
Another brown slushy wintry day here - went to Brooklyn Supreme Court today but got lucky - all my motions got adjourned! Going to court is the WORST part of being a lawyer for me. I love writing, love motions, love my co-workers, but court - UGH - doesn't matter how many times I go, how often I've argued and won or lost, I hate it. My friend Ed's such a sweetie though - he's in charge of assigning attorneys to Kings Supreme Court and asked for my help today in court - after my motions he bought me cocoa and chatted with me. He's a sweetheart. My friend Sean (also a co-worker who was handling other motions at Kings Supreme) then took the subway half-way back to work with me before we went to run our own errands. I'll say this - I love having cool friends to work with as attorneys in court.
I don't like the city in winter - everybody's just meaner, it's messier, UGH! The ONLY good things about winter in the city? (1) the fact I get to dress up in awesome winter fashions and there're like a million stores to shop at ;) (2) excuses to go to Starbucks to warm up with white chocolate mochas (non-fat, decaf, no-whip and no-foam of course!) and (3) christmas in the city and (4) skating at rockefellar center and at Central Park! The city's MUCH better in the spring and summer - esp the summer with the concerts and movies at Bryant Park. God I can't wait for summer!
For visitors to my journal who left me msgs - you may not be aware but me writing in this journal is called 'blogging' - the journal is a blog - I started online blogging back in 2000 and then again picked it up in 2002. This blog here goes all the way back. My friends at the time got me in to blogs. A LOT of my friends online (listed on the left under 'friends') have blogs and write about their lives, or interesting stuff. I rant about my life, politics, and everything I'm interested in. Right now the biggest thing in my life is the fact that I'm coming out with a CD in a month and am intent on making a successful music career (trying anyway). So for you guys coming late into the show of online blogging and online journals/diaries, familiarize yourself with my friends blogs or go to the main page www.pitas.com and scroll down and click on "member pages" and read what all the other people at pitas write about. There're also blogs at XANGA.COM and LIVEJOURNAL.COM as well as DEADJOURNAL.COM and DIARYLAND.com. Online blogging has been around for YEARS and it amazes me everytime someone unfamiliar asks me 'wow you actually write this stuff online for people to see?' LOL! It's not like I'm writing my most PERSONAL dark secrets on here! NEVER! ;) I only write and say what I feel comfortable letting friends and strangers read. I keep the private stuff private. You never see me talking about my boyfriend and our personal private life here ;)
For the guys who've been emailing me asking about friendship and other things: I HAVE A BOYFRIEND. He and I will most likely get married. I LOVE my boyfriend and am NOT considering ANY OTHER MEN!
So anywayz, now that THAT's said ;)
Susan *HUGS* you and me both (about the music) You're learning to drive? NOW!??? GOOD LUCK! It takes time to get comfortable behind the wheel but I know you'll do great! :) I had a terror of a driving instructor when I was 16 and had gotten my permit. He made me CRY on my very first day learning to drive. I hated him. Lady oooooh I want a prada purse SO MUCH but it's SO EXPENSIVE!! I'll email you tonight with my addy! Thank you SOOOOOO much for the soap - you don't know how much I love it!! Nishi Kapoor hi there! :) You're like the 50th Nishi I've met since I started this journal in 2000! Nishi's a rare indian name so when we meet a lot of other Nishis it's cool :) It's more of a common Japanese name :) Do keep in touch. Tell me about life in India. I'll be doing back to India to see my cousin's wedding in April - can't wait! :) John Wilson cool thanks! :) which work in particular? Vrunda hi :) I *am* a writer :) I write articles for magazines and journals and online publications and in my spare time I work on several books, write a lot of poetry, and I've been a song-writer forever! I wrote all my songs on my soon-to-be-released cd :) Writing is my passion and I can't imagine life without it! Jes yup it is and thank you very much! :) Please check out my friends' journals too when you get a chance :)
Off to have dinner with my folks. See ya guys later :)

10:03 p.m.
I just bought the 2 most amazing pair of suede 3.5" high-heel loafers at KENNETH COLE! They were in my SIZE!!! Size 5!!! And - this is the deal-cincher - they were comfortable. So of course I bought them. They come in brown, pink, kelly-green, baby blue, and I think they also have it in orange and purple! I got brown and pink suede heels and they're SO GORGEOUS! I also got a gorgeous white bag and a pair of pants ;) I want the kelly-green shoes too but they didn't have them in size 5 :( They'll have more in March they said. *sob* You don't know how hard it is to find comfortable and stylish shoes in size 5! They either don't make it in size 5 or are sold out. I'm a total fashionista & I love to stay trendy and buy the most newest styles of shoes and clothing. The clerks are so sweet at the Kenneth Cole in Grand Central - the gay guys are SO CUTE - amazing bodies and faces - it's too bad for girls that they're gay but great for guys! ;) One of the guys saw me putting my purple belt on and was like 'that's so pretty - that's ours? (meaning they sell it?) and I was like 'nope, it's mine. From Macy's' :) Although my friend Andrew at work called me a pirate when he saw me wearing it - it's a gorgeou lavendar silk cord belt with the ends flowing out as a sashes that tie at the side - somehow the tying made me look like a pirate I guess? ;)
Most of you guys know I'm VERY, VERY into fashion (at the expense of my savings and budget...and hell credit card debt ;)) - I think looking good helps to make you feel good! Of course, REAL beauty and feeling good comes from within - from solid values, and faith and love, family & friendship, but once you got that down pat, you can move on to some good fashion ;) There's nothing like stepping out in a comfortable pair of gorgeous shoes, pants, a shirt/sweater/jacket/coat and knowing you look wonderful - it makes you FEEL good about yourself even if you're having a crappy day. They say clothes make the man - they also make the woman. So anyway, I feel good right now ;) Although my credit card hasn't stopped screaming ;) Agh - just means I can't really buy anything else until I've paid it down. Luckily, I won a threshold motion so I get a bonus, and work is giving out performance bonuses this Friday or next Friday so I'll have the money to pay off my recent purchases. Whew!
I'm doing laundry now and getting ready for bed. I had court today and have court again tomorrow! The city was such a slushy brown mess! UGH! Snow is gorgeous when it's all white and pretty on the ground - but once the cars start driving, and they salt and sand, and people walk - it gets all muddy and brown and slushy and gross and gets ALL over your pants.
My CD news: Ash took 2 of my songs (Nightingale and Story) to the engineers (2 of them) and they "dug my stuff" ;) hehehehe :) that makes me happy :) the other 2 songs are going in Thursday and now the we're going to work on the 5th song, Oblivion, next week.........the NEW date for mastering is Feb 14th so now I think I'll have my cd finished by the end of february beginning of March. Whew! :) The date keeps getting pushed back but ya know what - it's actually happening. it's THIS CLOSE to happening :)
Ok time to put the 2nd load of laundry in, tidy up my room and go to sleep. I'll respond to ALL msgs tomorrow night :) *HUGS* to all!

10:17 p.m.
whew! just got home! I did some major damage to my credit card today! I went to Macy's after work to buy bags - professional ones to wear to court and work etc cause the ones I have now are more casual and make me look like I'm still a student and don't exactly scream 'hey this girl's a lawyer' ;) So I found 3 bags and bought them all. 2 by Etienne Aigner - one black and one a tan/brown mix, and the 3rd is a Ralph Lauren white bag - I own tons of Ralph Lauren - his style just looks really good on me. I also splurged on belts too...and a gorgeous scarf......and then went to the Clinique counter and asked the girl there to give me natural eye look and she showed me the best way to put on eye make up: light shade all over the eye and brow bone area, and then put a darker shade on the crease area of the eye and near the outer corner, follow up with an eye liner, smudge it, and re-line and you've got gorgeous eyes. I only bought a brown eye liner from the counter because I knew I get great but cheap make up at CVS so I then hit CVS and bought a LOAD of make up. If you know me, then you know I don't wear make up - at all - unless it's a special occasion. My make up is lip balm or gloss and maybe some cover-girl powder in the summer to control shine. I just hate looking made up every day and feel like it's too much stuff on my face. But I'm a GIRL and I love to TRY this stuff and I love putting make up on for special occasions - it's so much fun :) Just not for everyday ;) I think I struck gold with the make up I bought today - I just tried this blue combination palette on my eye the way I was taught tonight and it looks AMAZING! My eyes look like one of those 'maybelline' models! This is fun :) I wish someone had taught me how to properly put on eye shadow and stuff when I was younger or I wish I had more interest in make up when I was younger - but if that had happened I might've turned out to be one of those girls who can't walk out of the house without "their face on" - hahahaha :) I'd hate to be someone who couldn't bare to be natural - natural beauty I think is best but when it can be enhanced with make up that stays natural and true to you - making you look even more beautiful - well then - that's a great thing :) Even with this make up I still look like me - just a lil flashier ;)
I'm STARVING! I think I still have that buttered, toasted chocolate chip muffin somewhere.....I need to put away my new purchases (god my poor budget and credit card - I'm WAAYYYY off now with the computer purchase, tickets to shows, my shopaholic ways ;)) and after I eat, I need to get ready for court tomorrow - Supreme Kings (Brooklyn).
Amnesty International's first meeting of the month is tomorrow! If I don't have to do anything music-related with Ash I'm going to the meeting :) I'm excited to see what I can do and how to get involved in a human rights effort!
Sarah Beth what's a prisoner of conscience? When can you come? Lydia's back up at Rochester now.... Nizal umm...you can be my online pal. :)

8: 16 p.m.
brrrr I am one frozen Nishi!!! It snowed a ton here and this morning I had to help Papa shovel the driveway and walkway. I think I had 5 cups of hot chocolate today - not good for the thighs ;) I need to get a manicure and pedicure - my nails look awful!
I have fun news! This March, on Easter Saturday, I'm taking my whole family to see the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey CIRCUS at Madison Square Garden! Just booked the tickets and got LODGE seats - close to the center ring for SO cheap! Turns out today was the opening day to buy tickets so I was very lucky in getting such sweet seats at a great price :D
This spring is turning out to be event-packed! I had booked RIVERDANCE tickets as well for Opening Night on Thursday, March 10th because my boyfriend Ricky might be visiting that weekend (I hope he does) but if he doesn't, my good friend Neil will be my back up date - not missing Riverdance at all! :) Then, after the circus over easter, in April my cousin Princey in India is getting married and I'm going to INDIA!!! :) I have to put in a request at work now for April 15 to April 26! I'm going to be so jetlagged and seeing as how I really will get only 4 real days there - cause everything else is 4 days total of flight time - I'm going to make the MOST of my time there. Can't wait to see all my cousins!!! When I can afford to go on a lengthier trip I will go back to India to see my wonderful relatives but for now - a week is all I can afford.
This is gonna be a fun week! I didn't have to go to do any music or recording work today - Ashish is busy with mixing the 4 songs we've done so far - tomorrow I think we finalize everything and begin work on Oblivion and hopefully give it to the engineer by Thursday. I thought all had to be given to him by Tuesday but Oblivion can wait - whew!
Thursday after work I'm doing a drinks think with my friend James and a bunch of people from work! And on Friday all my sisters are coming home and we're celebrating my mom's and dad's birthdays that weekend! Mummy's birthday is this Tuesday, Jan 25th and Papa's was January 6th so we decided we'd all celebrate on a weekend everyone could be home and next weekend's it!
And then the weekend after that is MY birthday!! And then Valentine's Day is the weekend after that and I think I want to do a CD release party that weekend, and then I'm going to L.A. the weekend after THAT.....and before you know it's March...LOL! LOTS planned.....I'm looking fwd to everything :) Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed!
I'm still frozen - house is so cold so I think I'm gonna take a long hot shower, read a good book, maybe watch Desperate Housewives and go to bed early.
Sharon awwwwwww *HUGS* thank you so much!! I'm SO glad you liked my sites!! You live in Minnesota? Wow - all I know about MN is that it snows alot there ;) LOL! I practice insurance defense litigation/personal injury litigation as an attorney - I work for a firm which is inside counsel for an insurance company - we defend all the insurance company's clients - they insure a ton of the taxi cabs and livery car services in NYC so we deal with a lot of autombile injuries. It's interesting but not something I want to do for life - my passions will always be creative things like singing and writing and intellectual and humanitarian endeavors. Tell me more about yourself! Do you have a website? Feel free to IM me anytime but I have privacy settings so have to add your IM first before anyone can IM me. Memory *HUGS* a friend of mine went to Rutgers Camden Law School and he had, I think, a wonderful experience there. From what I know and hear, it's a great law school so if you get in or got in, go! Then you and I can meet up and go shopping here in the city! :D

11:32 p.m.
ok so you guys know how deeply passionate I am about human rights, right? Well, up till now I've only written articles related to human rights abuses around the world and submitted them to magazines and online publications, but tonight - I finally decided to do something more - I'm going to be an activist. I became a memeber of Human Rights Watch and am going to join the local chapters of Amnesty International here in the city. Amnesty International has a bunch of great local groups which do work related to many areas of human rights abuses - my main interests deal with abuses related to the war on terror and war-related abuses in other countries. Human Rights Watch has this 'Young Advocates' group I just emailed about joining and they do a great job of creating awareness about human rights issues on every level. They're both excellent organizations I'm happy to participate in and help. Check out their websites at AmnestyUsa.org and Human Rights Watch.org.
It's still snowing like crazy out there - so pretty :) I did absolutely nothing today! Didn't even set up my new computer! :) hahahaha perfect Saturday doing nothing ;) Still gotta go and work on the music tomorrow for my cd - hope the roads aren't too bad tomorrow afternoon and evening. Wonder if I'll have time to shop in Soho - want to go to my favorite "Guess?" boutique on Broadway and Spring Street and go uptown to the Ralph Lauren store on Madison and 70th Street - there're these gorgeous things I saw in my recent issues of 'Shop Etc' and 'Vogue' that I want to try and find.
Aishah I almost got you confused with another friend of mine who's also named Aisha and lives in Singapore - she's 21 though and is musical and plays in a band - her blog's at http://notyourtype.pitas.com - anywayz, I checked out your blog and what a gorgeous layout you have! I love all your pics! Good luck with work! And thank you so much for the well wishes on the album! *HUGS*

it's almoosssssst HHHHEEEEERRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! The big snow storm!!! Supposed to get anywhere from 4 inches to 1 foot of snow! Wish my sisters were home - I want to go play in it when it's coming down :D hahaha :) The lake outside is covered in snow and ice....there're flurries flying in the wind outside my 4 windows - all the trees are bare and look just like twigs - everything's ripe for a huge snow storm and I'm excited and warm indoors with breakfast and a cup of hot chocolate :D
it's my saturday off....what should I do? I need to really clean my room and the bathroom but I hate spending a day off doing those things....agh.....I just wanna sit and read my books and magazines and watch tv and call and talk to friends I haven't spoken to in ages and use my water-color painting kit I haven't used since the summer - I'll do a water color of the winter scenery behind my house! I broke a glass in my room the other night coming in at midnight - fumbled for the lamp on my dresser and *crash* thar she fell....so I should really clean huh....bits of stray glass on the floor is so not good. Geez my parents raised me too well - I actually have a sense of responsibility and cleanliness ;) LOL! Ok I'm off to finish my cocoa and begin cleaning. See ya'll later :)
Ajaz hi :) thanks! Rahul err....umm who are you? and yes I *was* sick with a cold a week ago but I'm much better now. Eric Rouleau thank you very much :) Your name sounds french - is it? Chad dude...chill. lilpimper same goes for you.

10: 18 p.m.
I'm going to do something I do rarely - go to bed early. Last night I didn't come home again till midnight because I was recording 'Nightingale' and it was always a gorgeous song but now it's so freaking beautiful with my harmonies added in over the chorus - I experimented and came up with stuff and it's just - wow :D Ashish's friend Sadna was there and her reaction to the finished song was fantastic so it made me very happy :) Now just ONE more song this weekend (the final 5th song) but with the snow and everything I'm worried about getting there on Sunday and making sure the music's good. It has to be perfect to record on Monday night......The stuff I'm hearing in my head and always pictured with it is just guitar and drums and follows the melody of the song......I trust Ashish implicitly with the music (he and Moises underatood my music perfectly) but I'm still always fearful that there's a chance it might not come out the way I hear it in my head....that's why it's important I learn the piano or guitar so I can start writing music arrangements myself and composing and putting down the music exactly as I hear it in my head....
anywayz that's why I'm going to bed early tonight - I need rest :) Work was great as usual except for the fact that I got a horrible paycheck - I didn't get paid for the 6 days I was sick (per company policy) even though I had doctor's notes - their policy is if you're sick, you don't get paid - they give 5-days worth of sick pay at the end of the year instead. So whether you're sick 5 times or not during the year, you get 5 days at the end in December. So I'm out 6 days pay and it shows on my paycheck *sob* I have to work hard on overtime stuff now to make up for it.
Aaron I sent you an email :) thank you SOOOOOO much! *HUGS* :) Miyu-chan I have 'My Own Prison' :D I'll listen to that song! :) Kari you're very right and I've been planning on creating a music-site for a while now but wanted to wait till I had a cd and mp3s and everything :) Right now I'm thinking about the cover design for my cd and it'll prolly be the basic for what the website will look like too. I love your blog by the way! *HUGS* Nikki LOL! me too! :) Musa well that's what this journal's here for ;) Nice to meet you. Efss hi back :)
Ok sleep. Now. Night :)

08:15 p.m.
it's snowing outside - it shouldn't be too bad tomorrow morning - they're predicting the worst for this weekend though. In L.A., however, it's sunny and 87 degrees ;) I'm so jealous of my boyfriend over there now! :)
Tonight I came home early - well "early" - didn't have a recording session tonight afterall so stayed late afterwork to work on a threshold motion. One of my friends at work, Sandra, has a daughter named Kristy who's 14 - I adore both Sandra and her daughter and have SO much fun when her daughter comes to work! Kristy comes over to our work place to wait with her mom till Sandra's done and then they go home. So once when the computers weren't working, Kristy and I played cards right there - in the open - when if upper management had walked by I surely would've gotten in trouble ;) LOL! So today Kristy was there too and seeing her just picked my mood up! :) She's like another little sister for me :D
SO anywayz, last night I didn't get home till midnight because we recorded 'Steal Your Heart Away' and laid down the test/reference vocals for 'Oblivion' - Ashish loved the song 'Oblivion' and I'm so happy about that cause I love the song so much too!
It's really hard work making a cd & making an album happen but ya know what - when it comes to your dreams and making those things that you love the most come true - you have to work hard. Nothing gets handed to you on a silver platter. If you don't have famous relatives to get you an 'in' on the industry - you need to have ambition and the dedication to hard work that it takes to get you into the industry. I'm working hard and can only hope and pray it all works out. But I'm keeping reality in sight too - the chances of failure FAAARRRRR outweight the remotest possibility of success - it's one thing to have my cd done - another to have a record label actually LIKE it and deem it worthy to put their money and time behind on. My backup plan, of course, is my career as an attorney - I'm going to work as as an advocate for human rights - whether as a lawyer or as part of a think tank or organization that deals with human rights and foreign affairs, write and continue to get publushed in magazines and go back to school to get a masters in international affairs. It's painful to think about not succeeding in music but I have to - I can't leave my head in the clouds and only think 100% of the time I'll make it - what if I don't? I have to keep one foot firmly on the ground and have a back up plan. But dear God I pray I make it somehow. It'll be such a sorrow for me if nothing comes of any of this....
Anywayz, i'm really tired - running on less than 6 hours of sleep....going to get a good night's sleep tonight.....'Oblivion' still runs in my head....my songs make me so happy....I just HAVE to get them made so people can hear them - I want people to love them as much as I love them - to make THEM feel good and happy listening to them like how I feel when I listen to some of Creed's songs or Dido's songs. This cab driver last night asked me if I was like JLo and I was like no....I'm more a mix of Shakira and Dido ;) hahahahaha such an odd mix but I think that's a good way of describing me - I have a very earthy-ballady yet exotic & intense quality to a lot of my songs....
Response to Messages holy cow - who ARE all you random people? ;) Miyu-chan I never heard 'One' - at least I don't think so? I'm going to double check my cds :)Sirucek99 thank you very much :) Lolita sweetie do us all a favor and take one long flying leap off a tall building. Lady Jeanneeee why not pitas? it's fully customizable with html! :) I'll send you an email with my addy!! Thank you for the soap! *HUGS* James thank you very much :) Mel hahaha wow yeah I found out I passed the Bar Exam back in Nov. 2002 - that was 2 years ago! Wow time really does fly...it feels JUST like yesterday! I just visited your page and it's gorgeous! Good luck on finals! Zarar dude you ain't gonna find one here. Nischka thank you very much! it's very nice to meet you :)
Ok I'm out. See ya'll later.

10:00 p.m.
music I'm listening to: Creed's "Who's Got My Back Now" from the 'Weathered' album
I am *this* close to having my cd finished :) and I hope to get a 5th song on it to round it out tomorrow. The 5th song, titled 'Oblivsion', is very 'Creed-like' because it's very alternative-rock and I'm yelling out my angst and sorrow, like Creed, and it's all guitar and drums - made it up back on November 17, 2002 so I checked my archives on this journal to see what I was up to back then when I wrote that song and here's what I'd written:

02:06 p.m.
eating pork curry and rice and having chocolate brownies nuked in the mircowave - mmmmm. I'm spending the day song-writing. Inspiration struck as I was washing dishes. The song is sad...about the moment when I lost my first love...made me so sad I burst into tears with a soapy glass in my hands. It's PMS dammit! Like I was telling ricky on the phone I always get soo emotional in the days right before IT visits. Somehow he manages to deal with it ;) hahah - back to my song...and the choc brownies mmmmmmm
Update: 3:23 pm
I finished the song - it's titled "Oblivion" and my sister Mekha refuses to let me post it here cause she says someone will steal it. Agh.
Mekha was right to not let me post it - the song is AWESOME. All my heart comes out when I sing it. I hope we can add it to the demo cd.
After work tomorrow, we're recording "Nightingale's Song" and "Steal Your Heart Away" I think and then maybe banging out "Oblivion."
I want to get a good night's sleep to go back to work tomorrow! I want to look like the picture of health! :D I got my doctor's note they faxed to me - I'm all set. Gosh darn it - there're only a few songs I really love on Creed's 'Weathered' album: #3(Who's Got My Back), #5 (One Last Breath), #8 (Weathered), and the last one #11 (Lullaby).
Ricky's gonna call now - time for bed. Night everyone :) Responded to all msgs in the post below.

11:38 p.m.
Mili and I just finished watching the Golden Globes - SOOO happy Desperate Housewives won and Teri Hatcher was soooo cute accepting her award! I thought my favorite actresses Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson and Charlise Theron all looked beautiful!
We recorded 2 of the 4 songs' vocals (with harmonies) today! Hush and Story are practically DONE! I'm a lil worried about Hush but Story sounds perfect! Doing harmonies was hard because I hadn't given that much thought to that kinda stuff when writing the songs and had just assumed I could come up with it later but I have to have that stuff planned out and ready in advance from now on. Lessee...was at the studio from 2 till almost 8pm today.....hard work but so worth it. Mil leaves to go back to Long Island tomorrow - I'll miss her :(
My voice still wasn't in top condition - I'm still suffering from this cough and my voice still doesn't have its normal range and strength and clarity because of my nasal congestion.....the vocals still came out sounding very nice and I'm so relieved.
I have tomorrow off (Martin Luther King Jr. holiday) but still have to be up by 9am to drive Mil back to her apartment in Long Island and take her to an interview and a bunch of places. Need to get that doctor's note tomorrow too!!!
Susan yes they're wonderful at work. I love almost everybody :) How're you doing? What's new at your end? *HUGS* back! Memory *HUGS* to you too and thank you! How'd you spend your weekend? Are u off for Martin Luther too? Lydia ha ha :P shut up :P hope you're feeling better from your cold. Lady *HUG* thank you!! I wish you'd bring back your journal. I miss reading about you! I miss your soap too. I want to place another order! :) LOL! Jade hee hee :) My birthday's Feb. 6th! What's Moetan? When's your birthday? *big hugs* :)
G'night all :)

they atually sent me home from work cause they say I'm too sick still!
listening to: Alison Krauss and watching the snow and rain fall outside even though it's also 60 degrees out ;)
I got this new Usagi and Mamoru cel on Wednesday from Christy of ani-chan.com :) Very happy about it.
I work in the strangest place on earth. They sent me home cause I'm still too sick. Trevor the manager upstairs was like 'Nishi you're still coughing and you're still sick, I'm sending you home, this is not debatable.' I went to work cause I was better now! Yeah I still have this crappy cough and it acts up frequently but it's not THAT bad. IOt just acted up the second I needed to talk to him about my doctor's note and then I couldn't STOP coughing and ugh. My throat is very hoarse. Anywayz, am drinking tea and trying to call my doctor's office who now is out to lunch and before wasn't answering their phone. Good thing I'm not calling deathly ill! I sure hope they can give me a doctor's note for yesterday and today!
I'm going to record this weekend, get my cd's schedule back on track and start plotting the next course of my life! I turn 28 this February!! 28....gawd...am I really 28? Didn't I just turn 25...26...27....these years are going by WAY too fast. Sometimes, I wish time could just slow down.
I spent a lot of quality time with my mummy wednesday and yesterday. She got really sick from this new seratonin medication she was trying - she was up ALL night wednesday night throwing up because of it and I stayed home yesterday taking care of her. She's better today and is smiling and beautiful again :)
I am actually pretty tired so I'm gonna rest for a bit while I wait to reach the doctor's again. Jade *HUG* thank you :) I'm MUCH better - just a stupid cough and nasal congestion. Vicki thanks :) you're oresome too ;)

10:29 p.m.
*crackle* *crackle* *crackle*
that's what all the ice, snow and sleet sounds like that's falling against my house and the 4 windows in my room.
like a million *crackle* *crackle* *crackles*
it's gorgeous.
feels like something out of a semi-scary children's book where the brother and sister get out of bed when they hear these strange crackling noises and find that elves etc DO exist ;) *ahem* see story below ;)
So the other day I was dragging my poor sister Mili around on errands and I just HAD to stop at the book section at Stop & Shop and picked up the last book in this Pixie Trickers series where this human girl and boy help this pixie trick all these other pixies back into a book where they came from. Such a cute book - I didn't buy the whole series since I'd read the last book but I highly recommend it to kids, parents who have kids, and other adults like me who enjoy children's books still :)
That's what all this crackling, snow on the ground, it's night-time etc reminds me of.......I'm such a child at heart with an overactive imagination still so I wrote a story :D hehehe enjoy :) (or if u hate it, NYAH I don't care :P :D)
Tessa and Timmy Meet the Elves! copyright Nishi Rajan January 11, 2005
Do you know? Elves exist. Yes, they do. So do Gnomes and Fairies and Pixies - well they're almost all the same. And in a little red-brick and wood-beam house on Mayberry Lane, little Tessa and Timmy would find out soon.
Oh it was a delicious winter night! The snow was falling in leaps and buckets and the wind was throwing ice and sleet against the windows of Tessa's and Timmy's room. With all this racket, poor Timmy just could not sleep. So, in his best loud-but-so-as-not-to-distburb-indoor-whisper-voice, he called to his sister across the room.
"Tessa...psst...Tessa....are you awake?"
Tessa stirred from her sleep and mumbled groggily, "Now I am. What is it?"
"I can't sleep."
"Shhh or you'll wake mum and dad!" Said Tessa. "Here, come to my bed and sleep."
Timmy, all of 4 years old, shuffled out of bed and climbed in greatfully next to his sister, all of 8 years old. The two were as close as any brother and sister could be, although Tessa had to admit that sometimes her baby brother could become a tad exasperating.
It was just as they were settling in to sleep again that they heard it.
Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.
That wasn't ice.
Tessa's ears listened more closely.
That wasn't snow.
Nor was it sleet.
Timmy definitely couldn't sleep now.
The children sat up in bed and that's when they saw them: 4 little creatures who looked just like you and me but no bigger than the size of your hand! Oh they had longer & skinnier arms and legs, longer noses, and their ears were more pointed, but Tessa could swear one of them looked a lot like her Great Aunt Trinity who always sent her pajamas for Christmas. The little creatures were appearing right through the window pane! As if by magic! And everytime one of them entered, there would be a sound like a crackle.
"Well that would explain the crackle!", Tessa thought and asked very crossly, "And what do you think YOU'RE doing?"
The little creatures froze for an instant and looked back at the 2 children with mops of chestnut curls on their heads - although Timmy's head was now half-covered by his blanket, so scared was he.
"Yes, YOU." Tessa commanded. "You can't come into our house and room, wake us up, and then do as you please!"
One of the little creatures turned to face the children and said "Yes, yes, you're very right."
He straightened his red velvet jacket and tipped his red velvet hat to Tessa before continuing.
"We are very sorry to disturb you, but we are elves visiting from Elf-Land. We used to live in this house and we left something of great importance here and if we don't find it, it will mean great misfortune for us all!"
Timmy stuck his head out of the blanket. "Great misfortune?", he asked.
"Yes," continued the Elf with the red jacket. "You see, the King and Queen of Elf-Land are having a party for their new baby daughter, the Princess Cassie! Every elf is expected to present a gift. We four are from a family of goldsmiths and years ago we crafted a beautiful gold mirror which would show the holder any place they wished to see. But alas, we lost the mirror in this house when we left it."
Tessa looked pensive. Where had she seen a tiny gold mirror before?
"I know!" She gasped. "My mother. In her jewelry box above her dresser - she has it in there! Mum found it one day cleaning and didn't know where it came from or who it belonged to. I'll help you get it back!"
Timmy looked at his sister. "You will?" he asked.
"Yes, of course! They need it to present to the princess! And Timmy you have to help me."
Timmy wondered how his sister always got him involved in crazy adventures, but nodded anyway, "Yes, I'll help."
The elves cheered and gathered around Tessa and Timmy.
"I'm Elinore!", smiled a blond and rosy-cheeked female elf who wore a spendid dress of blue, lined with white lace.
"I'm Jonas! Pleased to meet you!" Said a muscular-looking elf wearing a black sweater and black pants.
"I'm Isabel!" said a sweet raven haired elf wearing a green and gold-fringed dress.
"And I am Morgan!" Said the elf with the red velvet jacket and hat. 'Top of the evenin' to ya laddies!', He said with a smile and a wink. "So how do we get the golden mirror?"
Tessa thought carefully. Her mother and father would be sound asleep by now and the jewelery box was high above at the top of their dresser across from their bed. There was no way Tessa or Timmy would be able to reach it.
Just then, something from the corner of her bed caught Tessa's eyes. It was the blue ribbon sash from her Sunday church dress! She had a wonderful idea now.
Quickly, the children and the elves crossed the hallway and went inside the master bedroom where Tessa and Timmy's parents were sleeping. In the dark, the dresser looked even taller to Tessa.
Taking a deep breath, she turned to her brother and the elves. "Ok here's the plan. You see this ribbon?" She held out the blue ribbon sash which she had now tied one end into a loop. "I'm going to throw this on top of the dresser and when I catch the jewelery box, I'll pull it down. Elinore, Jonas, Isabel and Morgan - you have to be there to catch it when it falls."
The elves looked at each other and nodded.
"What do I do Tessa?" asked Timmy.
"You have a very important job Timmy. You have to stand near mum and dad so that if they wake up, you can distract them, cry and say you woke up so they don't see me or the elves. Think you can do that?"
Timmy nodded. "Piece of cake", he thought.
Tessa looked up again at the dresser, and over at her sleeping parents. "Let's get started."
Timmy stationed himself near his parents. His father was snoring softly.
Tessa came up to the side of the dresser and held the ribbon carefully in her hands. "1, 2, 3" she said softly and threw the ribbon up. It missed completely. "1, 2, 3" she tried again and this time got something. She pulled and down crashed a paperweight.
Tessa's mother and father stirred but didn't wake up. Timmy gave the sign that everything was ok. Tessa looked at the elves. She had to get it right this time. She threw the ribbon up once more, "1, 2, 3!" This time, she got the jewelry box. Carefully she pulled and brought it to the edge. One more pull! She pulled gently and the jewlery box came falling fast!
"Oh no!" Tessa thought.
But the elves were ready.
"Tsheir nuhaw geshoh" they chanted.
The box floated down softly to their hands.
"Wow! How'd you do that?" Exclaimed Timmy.
"Shhhh!" Tessa cried. But it was ok. Their parents were sound asleep.
"That?" Morgan smiled at Timmy. "Oh that was just magic."
Back in the children's room, Tessa opened the jewelry box and took out the golden mirror. It was so beautiful and small. She handed it to Morgan. "Here you are. A mirror fit for a princess!"
The elves all looked at the mirror admiringly. Elinore then asked Tessa and Timmy, "Would you like to see Elf-Land, through the mirror?"
Tessa and Timmy nodded their heads in excitement and gathered around Morgan.
With a wave of his hand, the mirror changed from a looking-glass to a beautiful lake, surrounded by flowers of every color.
Tessa gasped, "Look! A unicorn!!"
"Oh those are very common over there. They eat all my mulberries!" said Isabel.
Elf-land was every bit as beautiful as Tessa and Timmy could have imagined.
"I wish I could visit there one day." Timmy said.
"You can.", said Morgan. "For helping us find this mirror, Tessa and Timmy, we'll give you a gift in return." From Morgan's pocket he took out a key. "This is a key to Elf-Land. Keep it safe. Whenever you wish to visit, simply say mine, or Elinore's or Jonas' or Isabel's names and we'll come and take you."
Tessa took and key and looked at Timmy happily.
"Can we come now?", asked Timmy.
"I'm afraid not." Said Morgan straighgtening his jacket. "It's late and we must get ready for the party. But try tomorrow night!"
And with a wave of their hands, and another wink from Morgan, the elves left the way they had come, with a crackle, crackle, crackle through the window pane.
Tessa held the key tightly. "Let's go to bed Timmy. And in the morning, let's see if this wasn't a dream!"
The two climbed into their beds and went to sleep, with Tessa holding the key tightly under her pillow.
In the morning, the key was still there.
And this, was only the first of many of Tessa and Timmy's adventures with the Elves of Elf-Land.
So what'd you think? :) Remember it's rated G! ;)

i have a new name - it's 'the coughing monster'. Everytime I take a deep breath I cough up a lung or two. I just got off the phone with John from work and turns out a bunch of people had more or less the same symptoms as me the past couple weeks. I dunno how they came to work with fevers and painful sore throats but they shouldn't darn it! It just makes the rest of us sick! Stay home pleaseeeeeeee and get betterrrrrr I'll buy you flowers when you get back. I love work but I gotta start taking vitamin c pills while there and washing my hands more and avoid sick people like the plague.
I just woke up 2 hours ago - my sore throat is finally letting up I think. The cough is in full effect though and the nasal congestion makes my head hurt. Still snowing....it's dark now....
I bought a new computer - a Dell Dimension 8400 desktop PC 17" flat panel with 80GB of space, 1GB of memory, speakers, and an all-in-one printer/scanner - finally a SCANNER - and it has a combo cd-rw/dvd drive - I can burn cds now and watch dvds on my comp! YAAY :)
Lord....John made me laugh and that made me cough - crap. Throat hurts again. I'm going to get some more OJ or tea.

I just got back from the doctor's - I have a virus and a fever of 100.7 and a doctor's note to rest till Thursday when, if I feel better, I can return to work. I just tried to call work before i tried to fax the note over but nobody's answering their phones! I don't wanna send the note and have it just lie somewhere forgotten.
My doctor's assistant was the one who examined me first and WOWZA was he CUTE! Tall, caucasian with a mop of dark brown hair and the sweetest smile! His name was Ryan David I think. Such a cutie! Wish I knew somebody I could match him up with! Anyone in the Westchester area wanna meet a cute white doctor? ;)
Anonymous I was expecting some grand pronouncement of pneumonia or tonsilitis or something deadly to explain how painful and terrible I've felt past 4 days but all I got was "virus." Everyone and their mother gets a virus - I wanted to be told 'wow you have a severe case of XYZ and you need antibiotics pronto!' Then only would all the stupid pain and misery I'm in have been validated! Agh. Whatever. I just want to get better fast. I'm still trying to figure out who you are ya know. You must be someone I know and male because only a male friend would be so cheesy (no pun intended) to choose to hide their identity as 'AnonyMouse' ;) Oh and um not to insult your intelligence or anything but you do know it's spelled anonymous right? ok - juuussst checking! ;D But then again I think you wanted to emphasize the point of 'mouse' so the spelling's intentional. I analyze this stuff too much.
Miyu-chan *HUG* I'll try and get to it when I feel a lil better - I'm in no healthy mood to enjoy any movie right now and just getting up from the bed to the computer felt like a chore ;) *big hugs*
Susan LOL! wow I haven't had vicks in forever! how're u doing? thank you for your well wishes *HUGGGGG* :)
Ok I'm going to sleep soon. I constantly feel tired. Night everyone.

I'm going to the doctor. Whatever I have is serious and isn't going away. I'm still coughing with a chest cough and my throat - no matter how much water I drink - remains painfully dry/parched, my voice sounds like crap and I'm scared about my singing voice. God. Make me better soon. My throat hurts like hell. I hate this.
Liz I never worked in commercial litigation - it's always been insurance defense litigation. And I can't name the name of the firm. I'm sorry this is going to be a brief response because I feel terrible.

aaarrgggghhhhhh! It won't stop!!! My coughing! So all weekend I've been sick. mid-yesterday I started developing a hacking cough and now I have a full-blown case of it. At least the painful sore throat is gone but my nose won't stop being stuffed, can't stop sneezing, can't stop coughing everytime I take a deep breath!
The worst part of it is I was supposed to record vocals this weekend for my cd! I just tried to sing and it sounds awful and I know it's bad to sing when you have a cold cause you'll create tears in the vocal folds, leading to scarring of the vocal tissue which can alter or permanently hinder your singing voice! So I'm taking it easy for now. Hopefully by tonight or tomorrow I'll be better enough to sing :)
So pretty and sunny here today but my bf Ricky tells me it's been raining in L.A. for the past 2 weeks save for the morning of the Rose Bowl ;) At least it's 62 degrees there - it's only 41 today in NY! So I learned yesterday that Jennifer and Brad Pitt are separating! :( They were such a sweet couple and it makes me sad cause I was one of those people who wanted to believe in their relationship - that it could survive fame and busy lives of actors.
my eyes are tired, I need to blow my nose again, and I feel another cough coming on (there it came) - I'm getting back in bed. See ya'll later.

I performed! and now I'm sick AGAIN
Updated at 7:00 p.m. EST BELOW
ugh - what the heck is wrong with my throat! I was just sick last Thursday! I performed last night and I've been rehearsing till 2am every night this week so I guess that did it. Now I have this super-painful sore throat worse than last Thursday's and I'm not going to work. My face is flushing hot and this is making me miserable.
Ok my performance:
I did 2 songs: one of my original songs 'Steal Your Heart Away' which is this fast dance song with an indian feel to it but is a mix of rock and pop. It started out ok but I could hear myself and I sounded off-key at many places and just wrong, wrong, wrong! This is MY song guys - I can sing this song in my SLEEP perfectly and I performed it not so great last night. Probably because I hadn't rehearsed dancing AND singing it together enough time to make it perfect. Of course, everyone told me it was great but I know better. My friend Mark was like 'That's the first time I heard that song and it was GREAT! You Rocked!' But I heard myself - I definitely know better. I know when I'm not performing up to my capability.
But I think I redeemed myself on the 2nd song, Alanis Morrisette's UNINVITED - I NAILED that song :) I did it beautifully! :) That one I'm proud of :)
But I'm really disappointed in myself in my dance and singing of Steal Your Heart.....granted I had only 3 nights to really rehearse and put a dance and song thing together but I could've done a LOT better than that.....
Plus I think I SHOWED the audience that I knew I was messing up (rolling my eyes and I think I made a face here and there) UGH! Not what I would do if I could do it over again. That's what I used to do when I was younger - bad habit! When you have that many eyes on you, you better make sure you don't let the audience see what's going on in your head and don't show signs of bad showmanship.
Well lesson learned and I'll just do a BETTER job next time. Last night was PACKED - I'd never been to BL'VD before (199 Bowery Street) and it was great! The sound was awful but a great place nonetheless.
My face is very hot and throat hurts so badly I can't sleep - I'm gonna make tea and take advil and hope I feel better. I wish I could go to work - need the money - but I can't write and work when I feel like this. Ok I'm out. See ya'll tonight if I feel better. Will respond to ALL msgs tonight *HUGS*
Updated at 7:00 p.m. EST
how much better I think and feel after sleeping - I was feeling a little low about not performing to my stellar capability on the 1st song like I did on the 2nd but when I woke up a little while ago the first thing that came to me was that in the grand scheme of things - this is only
ONE performance and I may not have kicked ass on BOTH songs but I did amazing on the 2nd and I can be very proud of that!
I'll have many MANY other chances to prove myself. And I think I DID prove myself with the second song. I'll prove Steal Your Heart Away too. I am going to perform that song and next time I sing and dance it, I WILL steal people's hearts away! LOL! :)
That said I have something to say about Ashlee Simpson:
In Defense of Ashlee Simpson
Unless YOU have tried to get in front of a ton of people at half-time at the Orange Bowl or had to get up on stage and perform well - you shouldn't speak ill of her! She is SUCH a sweetheart and she CAN sing - beautifully! Maybe she didn't perform so well sometimes live but you have to understand how HARD it is to get up in front of a ton of people and SING and perform well! It's nerve wracking! Even when I don't feel nervous or scared at all my mouth goes dry and I have to do everything to keep it together. She's brand new to all of this and just starting out - she's young and of course she'll mess up and have some bad performances but she has amazing talent! I know *I* can sing and I can perform well but sometimes I suck ass! So cut her some slack because just wait and see - i think if she continues to perform and if people believe in her and encourage her - and stop being so mean to her - a year from now she's going to do amazingly performance wise! I like her :) I hope she succeeds!
Ok I just woke up a while ago and mummy made me ginger water (warm some water till it's lukewarm and crush a piece of ginger the size of 1/3 a deck of cards and strain it into the water. Then had dinner with lots of protein, iron and antioxidants and finished with chamomile tea with lemon strained into it. Throat still is VERY painful and my face is still hot. Not much different from this morning but hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow. I HAVE to record the vocals on my cd this weekend so we can give it to the engineer and then give it to be mastered and have copies made.
Lady thank you very much! *HUG* Hemal LOL! sorry I write so much! I can't help it!:)memory I will totally go see Phantom of the Opera! :) I think Phantom is one of the most tragically romantic characters ever! Susan happy new year my friend *HUG* I wish all the loving blessings in the world for you this year! Tabithaaaa *HUG* I left a msg on your board :) Mr. Napa I don't know anymore if the NY bar is harder than the California one - I know when I took it, it and all exams prior were all toted as harder than the CA bar even though more people failed the CA bar then NYers did but I learned that the reason why more people fail in CA is because CA is a huge state with MANY more exame takers than NY so comparatively of course more would look like their failing if more were taking the exam ;) Callie well I'm glad u had a nice christmas nonetheless. *HUGS*
Ok I'm out to go back to resting. I can't sit in front of this computer anymore. See ya'll later!

05:06 p.m.
hey everybody! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I haven't written much because everything's been SO busy!
I'm performing tomorrow!!! It's for the Tsunami Relief Concert (100% proceeds going to UNICEF and another charity for the victims) - it's at Crash Mansion - BL'VD downtown here in the city. I'll be singing (and dancing probably) one of my original songs we just finished work on and doing a cover of Alanis Morrisette's 'Uninvited' :) I've been rehearsing since Sunday night when I decided to definitely be in it and it's SO hard to choreograph a dance within only 3 days - I decided to do nothing complicated cause I need at least a week to memorize a routine. I'm just gonna keep it simple and sexy like the song is.
Rehearsing tonight - hope it doesn't snow too much before I leave.

Words I live by:
Man is never so tall as when he kneels before God - never so great as when he humbles himself before God. And the man who kneels to God can stand up to anything. -Louis H. Evans
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. - Eleanor Roosevelt
"All human wisdom is contained in these two words: wait and hope." - The Count of Monte Cristo

"The only dream worth having, I told her, is to dream that you will live while you're alive and die only when you're dead. [Which means:] To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget." - Arundhati Roy
