While the war raged on, she fell in love with a fellow officer. He had no idea she was a woman. After the war was over, he came to visit his "comrade in arms," and she revealed her true identity to him. Her goodness and beauty were irresistible and he fell in love with her. They were married and lived to a ripe, old age.
