ACT 29

"Pluto!!" Chibi-Usa calls. She runs to her and wraps her arms around her. "Pluto! Is it really you!? Pluto!?"

"Small Lady," Pluto says. "No, Sailor Chibi-Moon. I borrowed the power of your beautiful mother, the great Neo-Queen Selenity. I was reincarnated. For my important mission."

"Important mission?"

"What is it..." Chibi-Usa thinks. "She's not like the Pluto of before. Stronger. Bigger."

Usagi's sailor suit transforms, and she appears in her flowing white gown.

"Sailor Moon!?"

Pluto kneels with Haruka and Michiru.

"Greetings," she says. "The one who will be our new queen, Princess Selenity."

"I am the soldier of the sky, and I carry the protection of the outer planet of the wind, Uranus," says Haruka. "I am Sailor Uranus."

"I carry the protection of the outer planet of the sea, Neptune," says Michiru. "I am Sailor Neptune."

"And I carry the protection of the outer planet of Hades, Pluto," says Setsuna. "I am Sailor Pluto."

"We are the three soldiers of the outer solar system!"

"Our princess," Setsuna says. "We will do whatever is necessary to make reparations for our rudeness. Forgive us, so we can protect this planet. Since ancient times, we fought as soldiers from deep space against invaders. We defended the Silver Millennium from a distance. The princess and the Silver Millennium have been resurrected again in this world. And we, too. Like you, it was promised we would be reincarnated. We have newly awakened on this planet. But it seems we are too late. Our full awakening came in the time of crisis. They are already invading. Deeply, quietly, they built their fortress. We've let these invading enemies slip through. It's our mistake."

"The Death Busters..." Minako says. "Where did they come from?"

"The Death Busters?" says Michiru. "Is that what they're calling themselves? They've come from outer space to invade this planet. They're aliens."

"The Tau star system," says Ami. "That's what she said... Is that where they're from?"

"Yes," says Setsuna. "From a far away time and place. This land sparkles with a great power. The area of this Infinity zone is veiled in the great aura of a hidden power. They've probably been drawn to it."

"Intentionally... Accidentally..." Haruka says. "A twist in the time and space here is occurring. They could be coming from it. And, unless we defeat the being, this planet will be cornered into ruin."

"The being?" Usagi asks.

"The one we are supposed to defeat," says Haruka. "The biggest enemy. Pretending to be students, we finally infiltrated the Infinity School. We almost had them. Until somebody interrupted us by barging into the school."

"Haruka!" Michiru says. "We're sorry for dragging you into this."

"But! You're ally soldiers like us!" says Usagi. "Right?"

"But these enemies, the Death Busters," says Michiru. "We must face against them. Interference is useless."

"We'll help you!" says Minako.

"Don't," says Haruka.

"What?"

"It's too much for you," says Michiru.

"But! We've been fighting until now!" says Usagi. "We're sailor soldiers too!"

"Until now it's been different! The form the Death Busters are taking, and the way they're invading, is a complete mystery. So defeating the biggest enemy is something you can't do. This is our jurisdiction."

"But...!" Usagi says. "We can't even help you?"

"Princess," Michiru says. "Don't waste our time. The mission must be accomplished smoothly."

"Come on, you can't be serious," says Makoto.

"We had to leave the school because our cover was blown!" says Haruka. "The enemies might come looking for us! Is that the kind of danger you want to face!? We live in those condominiums, to keep an eye on the Infinity zone. We will not fail. We will take out the being."

Usagi stares at her.

"Don't look like that, Princess," she says. "We didn't want to confuse you."

"Princess," says Michiru. "Uranus is both a man and a woman. A soldier of both genders, with the strengths of each." (There has been much controversy over this one line in the manga and I read that it is meant to mean Uranus is both a man and woman in MIND not physically *shrug* I don't know if that was factual or not.)

"We three have special powers you don't have. We've been awarded stronger powers and stronger items. Leave things to us."

"Wait," says Mamoru. "What kind of thing is this biggest enemy? Is it that powerful an enemy?"

"Prince."

"The stronger items you carry," he says. "Are they the three talismans that will lead to ruin?"

"The ominous oracle..." says Rei. "If the talismans must not be gathered... The talismans you use as weapons... What are they!? Your mission..."

"The talismans we carry, and our biggest mission, are to bury the biggest enemy. The god of ruin."

"The god of ruin!?"

Later: Luna reads the newspaper in the Tsukino kitchen.

"'Students at the Infinity School have gone missing. They are looking for the responsible party. Dead bodies were found in the Infinity botanical garden. The garden has been closed, and the land development has been stopped.'" (one big difference to note in the manga is that the consequences of evil are very real, their energy isn't being stolen, its their lives, people ARE actually dead)

"What next?" she thinks. "The Death Busters. And Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. What do they want to do? The god of ruin. What could its true form be!?"

"So the mad scientist is causing an uproar again," says Kenji.

"Dad, do you know him?" Usagi asks.

"He was a world-famous scholar of genetic engineering. Seven, eight years ago. But he was probably too quick to announce his research, and he was banished by the scientific community."

Mamoru sits at a computer in the command center.

"Wherever I searched," he says, "there was no data on Professor Tomoe's past. Finally I accessed the scientist net and found something."

"Life's work: 'Superhuman'?"

"He continually repeated his genetic experiments on animals, and was outcast by the scientific community. He put his experimental know-how out for sale, and it was bought up by the Infinity district. Two years later, there was a fire while the buildings were under construction.

"After that, all life vanished from the professor's face."

"Say, Chibi-Usa," says Luna. "You should watch Hotaru-chan's appearance. As sailor soldiers, you must search out the enemies' territory, uncover their real identity, and get rid of them. Their invasion is being concealed. We must stop it at any cost. I still think Professor Tomoe is suspicious. Your duty might be dangerous and full of hardships. Can you do it?"

"As soldiers..." says Chibi-Usa. "I understand. I'll do it."

"Ohh..." says Pharaoh 90. "The source of life, the Taioron Crystal, is losing strength. We must get it quickly... We will eat up the tiny souls of the humans soon. For my revival, take the infinite power similar to that of the Taioron Crystal! The lights of the planets' protection should be gathered. Our ruin will be eliminated! We've finally found the land of peace. We won't give it up to anyone!"

Kaolinite walks to the pool of water. "The lights are rapidly gathering in this land. They're being drawn to the land's aura. Something is going to happen. The lights of the protection of three new planets... This does not bode well. These lights are stronger than the others. Are these the carriers of the three talismans!? Is it too late to stop the path to ruin!? My reflecting pool is always clouded. The sailor soldiers are sending out a strong vortex from the planets' lights! Or else, is the cloudiness the fault of the increasing abnormal aura power in this land? Master Pharaoh 90. This sacred land has seized the Omega Area's abnormal aura, and the strong lights of the planets' protection. We can't escape..."

Pofessor Tomoe walks in as Kaolinite orders the last of the Witches , Cyprine, to do away with the Sailor Soldiers.

"Ikuko-mama!" Chibi-Usa says. "Today after school I'm going to see a movie with everyone. I'll be getting home late."

"Oh, great," says Usagi. "What are you seeing?"

"It's a secret! Well, I got a phone call from Hotaru-chan. Hotaru-chan invited me. She wanted to talk about something. I can ask her about the professor."

"Hey, Chibi-Usa," Kenji says, holding the chalice. "This is pretty. What is it?"

"Oh, Kenji-papa! That's the legendary holy chalice. I made it with Usagi and Mamo-chan! Say, Kenji-papa, do you know about the holy chalice? During a sacred ceremony, it's a special cup you use to drink the wine and holy water."

"You've been working hard, like a soldier, Small Lady," says Diana.

"Really," says Luna.

"Looks like it's going to rain again today," says Usagi.

"We've been having really bad weather," says Ikuko. "Every day now it's dark in the middle of the day. I wonder what's going on."

At the Movies:

"Chibi-Usa-chan," Momoko calls. "The movie's starting!"

"Hotaru-chan hasn't come," thinks Chibi-Usa. "I've already waited nearly an hour. What's wrong?"

"You go on ahead," she says to the others. "I'll call Hotaru-chan's room." She goes to a phone. "Nobody's answering... Maybe... she's fallen down again, and can't contact me..." She walks to the Tomoe Research Labs. "It's so cold here..." she thinks. "All those dark clouds..."

At Hotaru's house:

"How does using those new parts feel?"

"Fine, dad," Hotaru says. "I'm getting used to them."

"They're a new development of cells and neurons," says Tomoe. "The materials and receptors are state-of-the-art. Soon you won't have any more accidents."

"I have to hurry," thinks Hotaru. "Chibi-Usa-chan might have already gone home. I'm really late." She bends her arm up. Her skin begins to glow, and wires joining her muscles together show through.

Chibi-Usa stares in through the window. Their eyes meet. "Chibi-Usa-chan!?" Hotaru calls.

"I'm sorry," she says. "I... Er... I barged in here..." She turns and runs away.

"Chibi-Usa-chan!" Hotaru grabs her chest and drops to her knees. "A fit... Again..."

A fire blazes among the buildings being constructed.

"Hotaru!" Keiko shouts.

"Mom!" calls the child. "It's hot!"

Hotaru opens her eyes. "Dad?"

"Good morning, Hotaru," says Tomoe. "You're awake? How are you feeling?"

Wires are under the skin of her arm and her legs.

"Are these...?"

"I didn't want people to know the secret of my cold body that blood doesn't flow through. I was all by myself. Dad only cared about his research. I thought I was going to die all alone." "I thought it would be a good idea to give this to you as a sign of friendship," Chibi-Usa said. "I finally made a friend. Until she saw my body like this. How is there any use in living? Is there a point to my life...?" She holds her head. "My forehead... hurts! Like it's on fire!"

Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna watch her through the window.

"Who are you?" Hotaru says. "Are you... Death? Why are you looking at me with such pity!?" She throws her amulet out the window, and it flies through the three vanishing figures. "It hurts..." she thinks. "From my forehead, through my whole body... Like someone's trying to burst out... Someone's taking over my body..."

"What should I do?" Chibi-Usa thinks. "I shouldn't have seen that..." "From an accident long ago, I have many wounds..." Hotaru said. "It surprised me. What should I do? I ran away from Hotaru-chan... Did I hurt her!?" She looks to the sky. "Rain? This is... Hail? In this season!? It's numbing... I'm losing strength... This is strange hail!"

"It's hailing," says Mamoru.

"Let's hurry home, Mamo-chan," says Usagi.

They see Chibi-Usa lying on the ground. "Chibi-Usa!?"

"The dark clouds are spreading from the direction of the Infinity School," thinks Haruka. Cyprine appears outside. "The Infinity School runaway, Ten'ou Haruka," she says. "I've found you."

The glass in the window shatters.

"Haruka!?" Michiru and Setsuna think.

"Heh, you're here, Death Buster," Haruka says. "Uranus Planet Power, Make Up!"

"Uranus!" Michiru calls.

"Neptune! Pluto!"

"Carriers of the planets' protection!" says Cyprine. "The new sailor soldiers! You've appeared!"

"Artemis," says Luna. "Look at the monitor!" "Uranus! Neptune! Pluto!" The girls run in. "Everyone!?" Luna says.

"Luna, Artemis!" says Minako. "It's serious! The whole city... Hail is assaulting the city! All the people are suddenly bloodthirsty!"

"Uranus and the others are fighting an enemy over the Infinity zone!" says Luna.

"We don't need to save those guys," says Makoto.

Usagi runs in with Chibi-Usa. "Let's go, everyone!"

"Usagi!"

"We'll save the people of the city and those three!" she says. "Chibi-Usa! It could be a violent fight! It's dangerous, so wait here!"

"Usagi!" Chibi-Usa says.

"Leave it to us. Mamo-chan, please watch her!"

We now turn to the battle. Cyrprine unleashes some 'Ribbon Buster' that is a form of witchcraft making the Outer Senshi and Inner Senshi hungry to kill eachother. Rei uses her Mars Snake Fire and announces that they will be the ones to kill Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Usagi tries to shake sense back into the Senshi and realizes they must be under Cyrprine's witchcraft. Cyprine reveals that her witchcraft merely attacks the deapths of the spirit and magnifies the blackness within, their true intentions are exposed and those are to prey on eachother. She cackles. (Whether this is the truth or not we do not know)

"Moon Spiral Heart Attack!" A burst of light flashes. When it's gone, two identical figures smile.

"I am Cyprine," says one.

"And I am Pucherol," says the other. "Together we are one."

"She split!?" Usagi thinks.

"Where is the power similar to the Taioron Crystal, Cyprine?"

"Together, no one can stop us, Pucherol! Not even the sailor soldiers! Look!"

"We'll kill you, scum!" the three outer soldiers shout.

"Die!" shout the others.

"Everyone!" Chibi-Usa calls. "Wake up! Don't fight! Be friends again!" She thrusts out the moon rod. "Pink Sugar Heart Attack!"

"Nuisances!" Makoto shouts as she attacks them.

Mamoru holds Chibi-Usa down.

"Tuxedo Kamen!" Usagi calls. "Chibi-Moon! Everyone! Stop it!!"

"Damn!" says Minako.

"Stubborn fools!" Haruka says. "You're still attacking!"

"Heh heh..." says Cyprine. "Ahahaha!"

"Why must we fight!?" Usagi thinks. "Are we all hostile in our souls!? No!! Those three always came to save us." "We defended the Silver Millennium from a distance." "They fight to defend what's important! Their goal is to fight, just like us. We can't be led astray! Make our spirits one, to fight! We are sailor soldiers!"

Chibi-Usa and Mamoru join hands.

"Make our spirits one..."

Usagi places her hand with theirs.

Light glows around them.

The holy chalice appears above them.

The golden crescent moon shines on Usagi's forehead.

"All our spirits into one...!"

"The holy chalice is shining!" Mamoru thinks.

"Sailor Moon!?" says Chibi-Usa.

"Everyone...!" Usagi commands in loud voice that rings with power, order and rule.

The seven sailor soldiers halt.

"Sailor Moon!?"

"Make our spirits one, to fight! We are sailor soldiers!"

"Sailor Moon is..."

"Calling us..."

The three objects carried by the outer soldiers glow.

"My talisman," says Michiru. "The deep aqua mirror..."

"My talisman," says Haruka. "The space sword..."

"My talisman," says Setsuna. "The garnet orb..."

"They've started to resonate!?"

The lid on the chalice opens.

Luna, Artemis, and Diana watch from the command center. "The legendary holy chalice!?"

"Power to Sailor Moon..."

"Power..."

The chalice shines as it rises above Usagi.

"Crisis!" she shouts. "Make Up!!"

Her sailor suit transforms. Her skirt becomes multi-colored, a heart shape like her brooch above it. A long ribbon flows out from the bow in the back. The crescent moon shines through her tiara.

The brooches on the other soldiers transform.

"The brooch..." Minako thinks. "Changed to a heart!?"

"Sailor Moon!?" Chibi-Usa says. "No, that's... Super Sailor Moon!?"

"Sailor Moon is undefeatable," says King Endymion.

"Mom!" Chibi-Usa says. "Sailor Moon was undefeatable! She came to save you and Crystal Tokyo. I want to be a soldier like Sailor Moon!"

"Work hard with your training, Small Lady," says Neo-Queen Selenity. "Keep watching, and someday you will see a Sailor Moon that is much, much stronger. Super Sailor Moon."

"Super Sailor Moon!?"

"Super Sailor Moon!?" Cyprine and Pucherol gasp.

Kaolinite stares into the pool. "Sailor Moon! She powered up!?"

Tomoe looks into the sky. "Such grand energy! But the center of the power receives no damage!? I don't believe it! Sailor Moon!! What on earth is this power!?"

Hotaru coughs hard, kneeling on the floor. "My forehead hurts... Like it's splitting... I'm nauseous... It hurts... From my throat, from my forehead, from my whole body, something is trying to get out. It must not get out! It mustn't!"

Her voice and manner changes. "What a storm of light! Such a strong aura! I can see a pillar of energy running up to the sky! Once on our mother planet, the Taioron Crystal was full of energy. Thousands of times the power! I can see an awful number of starlights in there. Sailor Moon! That enormous power! What is it!? Does that give you all power!?" Hotaru stops coughing. Her eyes sparkle. "It's the power of the Mystical Silver Crystal," she says. "Master Pharaoh 90."

"We won't be led astray any longer!" Usagi shouts. "I won't hesitate anymore." She holds out the heart moon rod. "Rainbow Moon Heartache!"

The bodies of Cyprine and Pucherol are distorted in a flash of light, and vanish.

"Damnit!" says Kaolinite. "Sailor Moon! My precious servants, the Witches 5! The final, strongest witches, Cyprine and Pucherol, have been defeated! The outsiders must be eliminated quickly. We were supposed to see the start of our new world here with the master. But things are happening like this! You have angered me, Sailor Moon!"

Hotaru holds her amulet from the string. Her eyes sparkle.

The image of Kaolinite is projected on the amulet. "So I can become the master's partner," she says. "Nobody will stop me!"

"Heh heh," says Hotaru. "Magus, you will be the master's partner. You are driven to become that." She holds her head. "My forehead's splitting!!" She cries out in pain as she collapses.

"I...!? I powered up...!?" Usagi thinks. "It suddenly came, then vanished. Power from the holy chalice..."

"Super Sailor Moon!" calls Chibi-Usa.

"It was power from everyone..." Usagi thinks. "Devoted to me from the holy chalice."

"The legendary holy chalice!?" thinks Mamoru. "Is this the power of the legendary holy chalice!?"

"The talismans gave power to Sailor Moon...!" says Haruka.

"They began to resonate like this...!" thinks Michiru.

"There was this kind of power in our talismans..." says Setsuna.

"I don't believe it," Haruka says. "The talismans were to awaken with a key... But like this..."

"Uranus!" says Michiru.

"I asked for all our spirits to become one," says Usagi. "I asked for you to lend me your strength. Your brooches are changing. We can surely work with each other. I want to save everyone. I want to defeat the enemies. We both felt that way. Then with the legendary holy chalice, I became Super Sailor Moon. We can be as one like that. So we're the same kind of soldiers. We're allies."

"Allies... Super Sailor Moon..." thinks Michiru. "No matter what we did, the talismans lent their power to Sailor Moon so easily. The talismans are saying to tell Sailor Moon the truth. Tell her the truth, and she won't be able to fight. We're the same sailor soldiers..."

They go to an apartment high in the building. "Uranus's place."

"It's all messed up from the attack," says Usagi.

"The window glass is shattered."

"I can't wait to see the bill for the cost of the glass," says Haruka. "Plus the cost of redoing the broken furniture... However much it is, it's not enough. The rent here is one million a month."

"One million!?"

"Wh- Why is it so much!?" asks Makoto. "Are your parents paying for it!?"

"Ehehe," Haruka says. "Since we have a patron, the price isn't a concern."

"Haruka..." says Michiru. "Super Sailor Moon. No, Princess. In what we can trace of our memory now, we saw the three talismans activated. It has only happened once before. Do you remember? When the Silver Millennium was destroyed." Selenity screams as the blade cuts through Endymion. The princess, her four soldiers, and Endymion lie on the ground, all dead. "Then, leaving the territory we were to protect wasn't permitted. From far away, we sat watching over it. From a distance, where we were home, we heard the final cry of the Silver Millennium."

"No, don't talk about that," Usagi says. "It's like... my heart is breaking..."

Mamoru holds her.

"What we carry, the strongest weapons of the outer solar system, the talismans, are beginning to resonate like we've never seen. We gathered them. Then, the beautifully shining talismans summoned, from the forbidden planet, the final soldier, who must not awaken. The soldier of silence, who carries the protection of the planet of ruin, Saturn. Sailor Saturn. Then we knew the end would come. We watched as she slowly brought down her silence glaive, as the Silver Millennium went into oblivion. Our power gave out."

"Sailor Saturn...!"

"Sailor Saturn appears at the moment of destruction. She takes all to nothing. She is the guide to death. When the three talismans are together, they will invoke the key that will call Sailor Saturn. We are the guardians of that key. The time when we gather them, the three talismans, that is the time of Sailor Saturn's awakening. The three talismans must not be able to be brought together. The time when Sailor Saturn awakens... Is the time of the death of this world. The time of the ruin of this world."

"Then these are the three talismans that will lead to ruin," says Rei.

"But, in my dream," says Mamoru, "somebody was calling for the talismans to be gathered. Who was that...?"

"The territories we are to defend are far apart. We were never supposed to meet. We were reincarnated as humans on this planet, and again we met. The talismans were calling out. Invaders from outside. We can't stop anymore. We sensed that. We followed the invaders to their home. We found it, in the center of the cursed Delta, right under our noses. The enemies were there. Then the soldier of destruction was reborn..."

The face of the soldier is reflected in Michiru's mirror.

"Oh my god..." Usagi says.

"Is that... Hotaru-chan?" says Chibi-Usa. "Is Hotaru-chan Sailor Saturn!?"

"Sailor Saturn's awakening is near. The child's body is beginning to feel the effects."

"Saturn's soul was calling for the talismans!?" thinks Mamoru.

"Super Sailor Moon, Chibi-Moon," Setsuna says. "As you know, you have a future. The ruin can't happen here, now. This is an accident. Saturn's soul was reincarnated. Somewhere the wheels of fate have gone wrong."

"Why is this happening...?" Mamoru asks.

"We don't know."

"But!" Haruka says. "Whatever happens, Sailor Saturn must not be allowed to awaken."

"What do you plan to do?" asks Minako.

"Kill her. Then we'll completely seal Saturn away."

Chibi-Usa gasps.

"That's..." Usagi says. "You're kidding, right!?"

"We don't know yet whether or not the three talismans will be activated. The talismans are resonating. They sent out the power to call Super Sailor Moon. The talismans are full of power. Like the time... Like the time when the Silver Millennium was destroyed. The time when the talismans activate to call Saturn is near."

"And so you're going to kill her!?" Usagi says. "There has to be another way!"

"If there was, we'd use it," says Haruka. "We don't have long. The child's body... You've seen it, right, Chibi-Usagi-chan? She was seriously ill from an accident when she was 6 years old. It was a miracle she returned from her coma alive. As she had the best mind, she was the result of the outcast Professor Tomoe's life work. The fusion of man and machine. Just like a doll, the professor converted her body into that of a machine. The child's small body has already been worn out."

"Isn't there any way to save her?" Makoto asks.

"There is only one way her body can be saved. That would be for her to become a soldier with power, and awaken as Sailor Saturn. But we can't let that happen."

"You have no right to cut off Hotaru-chan's life to seal away Saturn!" Rei says.

"So this world can live without following the path to destruction, we will kill the child. After we kill her, we'll defeat the enemies. If we do not, Saturn will surely awaken and destroy this world. Everything will vanish. Nothing will be left. We might not be able to stop it. But our mission now is to seal Sailor Saturn away before her awakening."

"No!" Usagi shouts. "No! You can't kill her! There is a way to save her! Saturn might not awaken. The future exists. The world won't be destroyed! We'll help her. We can save everything! You can't kill her!"

"We thought you'd say that," Michiru says. "So you can't do the mission with us. We can't be allies. You may hate us. For you, we may be enemies. Since there is no other way, we will do our duty. We will save the world."

They run off and disappear in a flash of light.

"Uranus! Neptune! Pluto!!"

"Hotaru-chan is Sailor Saturn, who will call the ruin..." thinks Chibi-Usa. "Hotaru-chan..." "Chibi-Usa-chan." "Those deep eyes with a wondrous power. She always looked depressed. Hotaru-chan..." "Kill her." She runs away.

"Chibi-Moon!" Mamoru calls.

"It can't happen!" she thinks. "I have to save her! I'm going to Hotaru-chan's place! She can't be killed!" She climbs over the fence of the research lab. "This time I won't run away. Whatever form she's in, whoever she is, whatever her destiny is. She's my friend!"

Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna sit above in a tree. "Is that... Sailor Chibi-Moon!?"

Chibi-Usa runs to the door and sees Hotaru sprawled on the floor.

Hotaru's eyes open. They sparkle. A gust of wind blows out, shattering the glass of the door.

"What!?" Kaolinite thinks.

"That sound!?" thinks Tomoe.

"Chibi-Moon!" Usagi and Mamoru call, sensing their daughter's fatal danger.

A hand snakes out from Hotaru, and snatches the brooch from Chibi-Usa's chest. Chibi-Usa reverts to her normal clothes, and she falls back.

"Chibi-Usa!!" Usagi calls. She runs to her with Mamoru.

Diana's head jerks up in the command center. "Small Lady!?"

Hotaru's eyes glow, and her hair grows out long, all over the floor around her. She is now the infamous Mistress 9.

"Sailor Moon!" Minako calls as she appears with the others.

Hotaru glares up at them, and they're all forced back.

"That's-!? Is that Hotaru-chan!?"

"Oh no!" Usagi thinks. "Saturn!? Has she awakened!? The talismans aren't activating! So that's-!"

Hotaru smiles as a black star shines on her forehead. "I've got it," she says. "I've got it! The Mystical Silver Crystal. Master Pharaoh 90! I've awakened! Heh heh! Ahahahaha!"

Mamoru holds the unconscious Chibi-Usa in his arms. "Chibi-Usa!?"

"Chibi-Usa!?" Usagi says. "Her body's cold... Chibi-Usa!? She's not breathing!?"

At the hospital:

"She's gone into cardiac arrest," the doctor says. "She's dying."

Usagi gasps. "No... It can't be..."

"Would you leave us?" Mamoru asks.

The doctor leaves.

"Chibi-Usa!! Chibi-Usa!?"

"Her body's stiffening..." Usagi says. "And getting cold... Hotaru-chan... Sailor Saturn killed her!!"

"Her soul has been stolen.", comes the voice of Haruka.

"Haruka-san!" Usagi says. "Michiru-san! Setsuna-san! Her soul!?"

"The Death Busters have targeted the souls of humans," says Michiru. "They steal spirits. Then they unite the soulless bodies as vessels. The utilization. They convert human bodies into one. Those are the Death Busters!"

"Steal spirits!? Human bodies into one!? Then, Hotaru-chan... That form... was..."

"It was not the awakening of Sailor Saturn," says Setsuna. "The three talismans are not yet activating."

"I hadn't thought about this happening," says Haruka. "Hotaru was long ago utilized by them. That isn't Hotaru any longer. It's an enemy! When she took Chibi-Usa's Mystical Silver Crystal, she was also stealing Chibi-Usa's spirit."

"Chibi-Usa and Hotaru-chan..." says Usagi. "What will happen to them!?"

"The spirits of the utilized ones," Haruka says, "live as sustenance. But even if the utilization is a success, they will soon revert to daimons. If that happens... then they cannot be saved. It's impossible after that, whatever form they take living in this world."

"The ones we defeated before," thinks Usagi, "were humans merged with enemies... If they change into daimons soon, they can't be saved...!"

"Hotaru has already been seized by the enemies," says Haruka. "But it will be easy to do. Soon she will suffer and be destroyed. We will kill her before she suffers."

"But...!"

"She has Chibi-Usa's spirit and the Mystical Silver Crystal!" she says. "What would you have us do!? If you want Chibi-Usa saved, you have to fight and take them back! If we don't kill her, we'll be killed. Even if Sailor Saturn doesn't awaken, destruction will come. Kill or be killed. Which would you choose? We're going. Not just for Chibi-Usa, but to save everyone!"

"Right, Usagi," Usagi thinks. "Unless we save the planet... The enemies I've defeated before... Humans and enemies merged... And Hotaru-chan, too..."

Mamoru looks down at Chibi-Usa. "If it keeps going like this," he says. "Chibi-Usa's blood not flowing... She really will die. Let's take her to my place."

"There's no time," Usagi thinks. "If we don't hurry and get her spirit back... We won't be able to save Chibi-Usa!"

They go to Mamoru's apartment.

"Chibi-Usa's body and mine are linked," Mamoru says. "I'll use my body's life maintenance system to keep Chibi-Usa's body alive." He holds Chibi-Usa's hand, and it starts to glow.

"But then your body will be burdened..." says Luna.

"It's all right. Chibi-Usa and I are one now. I can at least keep this one body alive. It's no problem, it'll be fine."

Usagi sits by Chibi-Usa's bed, her eyes watering.

"Could you leave us alone for a while?" Mamoru asks the other girls.

They look at Chibi-Usa, then leave the room.

"Chibi-Usa... I can't choose. Chibi-Usa. Hotaru-chan. The people of this planet. I can't abandon them! I can't choose between them for us. Will it not just lead to ruin? Us... And then the world..."

Usagi feels Chibi-Usa's hand. "Mamo-chan's power is spreading," she thinks. "It feels like she's alive. What should I do? What..."

"Usa."

Mamoru kisses her.

"Oh," he thinks. He sees the image of a devastated city. A shadowed figure stands atop a ruined pillar. "Again. This vision... "

"We'll get them back, Usa," he says. "Chibi-Usa's spirit, and the Mystical Silver Crystal. We'll do everything we can. Don't lose hope. Hope..."

"That vision..." he thinks. "Is that... the messiah? Or else, the god of ruin?"

Back at the Tomoe's House:

She cuts off a lock of her long, dark hair. "I cut and I cut, it grows back," she says. "Crappy hair. This is limited and inconvenient, being a vessel. I'm uncomfortable in this human body."

Tomoe rushes into the room with Kaolinite. "Mistress 9!" he says as he kneels. "We have been awaiting your arrival. For a long time. We transplanted the egg into my daughter, Hotaru. Completely undivided, I thought you might not awaken."

Mistress 9 grabs her head.

"She's awakening now..." thinks Kaolinite.

"You have made great efforts for your duty, Kaolinite," Mistress 9 says. "I am the master's partner from the old world. You should leave things to me. The great mission you have been granted from the master must be completed immediately. Eliminate the outsiders! I will not tolerate failure."

Kaolinite bows. "I will accomplish it."

Mistress 9 walks to the stone hall.

"Oh, I've been waiting for this," the voice says. "Mistress 9!"

"Master Pharaoh 90!" She raises a brooch, and energy flows to Pharaoh 90.

"You've just awakened," Pharaoh 90 says, "and you're already bringing power. What power is this!? These souls are the beginning...!"

"Master Pharaoh 90, one moment. This is not from souls. It's the Mystical Silver Crystal. The source of the light of the carriers of the planets' protection. I've finally gotten it. We can keep this great power to ourselves. The Mystical Silver Crystal!" She goes to her room, carrying the brooch. "Wondrous light. The same light as the source of the Tau star system's power, the Taioron Crystal. Like something dwells inside it. It puts me at ease with its holy brilliance."

"Naturally. It's defended by the girl's pure, beautiful spirit."

"Who's that!? Is it someone inside of me trying to push out...? It's because of my spirit. It's giving me strength... With this Mystical Silver Crystal, there's nothing for us to fear anymore!"

"Hey, Mistress 9!" Tomoe says. "We're running out of eggs. The utilization, to steal souls by planting the eggs, is the only way for us to live in this world."

"But, the completion of the master's utilization will become unnecessary. The birth of our new world is close at hand. Heh heh! Ahaha! Close at hand!"

Kaolinite stands in the center of a circle on the ground. Smoke surrounds her. A bat flies in. She grabs it in the air and rips out its heart, squeezing the blood into a glass. "Our servants," she says. "Before the Witches 5 are resurrected..." Five figures steam from the glass, taking the shape of the sailor soldiers. "I will place a curse on these ones. A curse that will never be lifted... Heh heh heh..."

Usagi walks down the street, and sees the four girls. "Everyone!" she says. "Let's go. To get Chibi-Usa's spirit back! To the Infinity zone!"

As they approach the center of the Delta, they see the building overgrown with trees and vines.

"The Infinity School has gotten like this overnight..."

"It's full of amazing energy," says Rei. "The air, the plants, the building. The abnormal power is making everything go mad."

"The power is forming into a dome shape over the Infinity zone," says Ami. "It looks just like an omega shape."

"Let's go," says Makoto.

"Uranus, Neptune, Pluto," thinks Usagi. "Am I choosing the wrong path...? If I do this, will we not be able to fight together?"

"Sailor Moon..." Haruka thinks. "It's regrettable, but we three will put Hotaru-chan to death. To death..." "Haruka!" Michiru calls.

"Heh heh... They're here. The carriers of the planets' protection. The sailor soldiers." A door appears though the trees.

"An entrance opened!?" The five girls walk into the building.

The two identical women bow. "Greetings. Welcome to the Infinite Labyrinth." "Cyprine!? Pucherol!?"

Rei sees darkness all around her. "What the-!? Sailor Moon!!? Where is everyone!?" She sees a sign in the hallway that says, "Etiquette Class." She rushes into the room.

"How impolite," says Eudial. "As instructor of manners and etiquette at the Infinity School, Arimura Yuuko, I'll teach you a lesson."

"Eudial!?" Rei thinks. "But I defeated her before!" The door slams shut behind her. "Oh no! I don't have time to fight you!"

"Too bad! I am Eudial, warrior of the flame! You have been selected as my match!" She jumps up and kicks Rei down.

Rei gets to her knees, breathing hard.

"You really don't want to fight?" Eudial asks. "I see. You don't have the fighting spirit. You won't only fight for Sailor Moon. Your whole body is saying you want to know etiquette and military arts."

"I'm lost!?" Ami says. "Everyone!? Where did they go!?" She sees a large computer system, reaching to the ceiling. "I saw this in a book! It's got the biggest system of the century! The artificial life super computer! Amazing! But here!?"

"Welcome!" says Viluy. "Do you remember me? Bidou Yui of the science class. I'm happy I can finally show you the essence of our school."

"Viluy!?"

Ropes wrap around Ami, tying her up. "Look, your body craves data," Viluy says. "You will be assimilated into the computer, for its artificial life. You want more information, want to succeed by yourself. But you're urged to spend your valuable time fighting. You always use your abilities for Sailor Moon."

"Yes..." Ami thinks. "I want to study more and more. I want data. If I don't study more, I won't be able to get into a school of medicine... Because of Sailor Moon, I consume electricity... I can't get any data..."

"Where is everyone!?" Minako says. "Where'd they go all of a sudden!?" She hears someone singing. "Who's voice is that!? My head is splitting...! Stop this singing! I've heard this song before... Paralyzing me like this!"

"Hey there!" Mimete says. "I, Hanyu Mimi, am having a concert tonight, and you're my pretty guest! Sailor Venus!"

"What!?"

The crowd before her cheers. "Venus!!" "Sailor Venus-chan!!" She holds a microphone, and ropes wrap around her.

"What's the matter!?" Mimete says. "Hurry, sing! Sailor Venus! Isn't it your dream to be an idol!?"

"Yes..." Minako thinks. "Being an idol is my dream! This is my chance! With my chance, I can hurry and quit the sailor soldiers. Being a sailor soldier is so absurd. I can hurry and quit...!"

"Sailor Moon!?" calls Makoto. "Everyone!? Hey! Where are you!?" She turns a corner and sees a room full of plants. "This is-!"

"Welcome, to the Infinity botanical garden. I am its caretaker, Teruno Ruru."

"You!? Tellu!?"

Tellu sits Makoto down. "You don't need to fight today. Okay? Slowly look around! See!"

"Wow!" Makoto says. "It's full of roses! La France, the first breed of hybrid T! These are soleil dolls!" She picks a flower up. "My heart's softening..." she thinks. "What was I coming here to do... I'm so tired... Fighting is absurd... I want to stay here forever... It's my dream. To spend a carefree lifetime in a rose garden, with someone I love..."

"Everyone!?" Usagi calls. "Oh no! Have the five of us been split apart!? Have we fallen into enemy hands!? That was careless. Where is this!? Everyone...?"

The four girls appear before her, scratched and bruised.

"Mars! Mercury! Jupiter! Venus!" The figures begin to melt.

"It's your fault we're coming apart," they say. "We won't fight anymore..." They jump at Usagi, covering her in melted goop.

Chibi-Usa appears behind her. "It's your fault, Sailor Moon." She grabs Usagi around the throat.

"Ow! You're... hurting me... Chibi-Usa...!?"

"We'll help you too, Chibi-Usa-chan," says Haruka.

"We think you're an annoyance, Sailor Moon!" says Setsuna.

"Uranus! Neptune! Pluto!"

"I want to be free, Usa!" says Mamoru. "I'll kill Chibi-Usa and Hotaru! And then Usa! You too!"

"Mamo-chan!!"

Mamoru jumps up from his chair beside Chibi-Usa. "Usa!? She's being bewitched! Usa!" (Amazing, they really can sense everything about eachother!)

"No! I can't be bewitched! You're hallucinations! Everyone!" She holds out the heart moon rod. "Moon Spiral Heart Attack!" Light flashes around her, and she's alone. "Everyone!?"

Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna attack the plants outside.

"God damnit!" Haruka says. "What the hell is this stuff!? We cut and we cut, but it keeps attacking! We can't get near the Infinity School. I've got a bad feeling about this. Sailor Moon!?"

"Uranus!" says Michiru. "Pluto!" She shows them her mirror. It shows a tall, thick column, holding the bodies of Rei, Ami, Makoto, and Minako.

"We'll break through the barrier!" Haruka says. "Space Sword Blaster!" They rush inside to the column. The six enemies are in front of it.

"Sailor Mars! Mercury! Jupiter! Venus!"

Setsuna holds up her garnet orb. "Cronos Typhoon!"

"We have to save those four!" says Michiru. "Submarine Reflection!"

The six warriors melt down and fade away.

"Uranus!" Usagi calls. "Neptune! Pluto!" She runs to Haruka. "I thought you'd come."

"Uranus! Neptune! Pluto!" say the four girls, freed.

Usagi hugs Haruka. "Yes..." she thinks. "It really is the same feeling. They couldn't abandon us. Together... I wanted to fight. We'll join our powers to fight. Then if my power becomes strong... Even the impossible can approach possibility."

The eight soldiers form a circle, putting their hands in the center. Light begins to glow.

"We're sailor soldiers... Allies to join power and fight..." Usagi lifts the holy chalice over her head. "Crisis!! Make Up!!"

"That light!" thinks Kaolinite.

"Super Sailor Moon!" Michiru calls. "Up! The president's office!" They go up to the 56th floor of the building, and run into the office, where Kaolinite is. Five figurines are on a table. "Those are-! Wax dolls shaped like us!?"

"You've undone the finest work of Magus Kaolinite," Kaolinite says. "You won't bother us anymore!" She mutates into a giant monster.

"A daimon!!"

"I'll save this planet!" Usagi shouts. "From the dream of ruin! Rainbow Moon Heartache!!"

The daimon vanishes in a swirl of light. The amulet drops to the floor and shatters.

"Whatever delusions fill this labyrinth," Usagi says, "I won't give up hope! Let's search! For Hotaru-chan!"

"She's found her way to this fortress," thinks Mistress 9. "She even blew away Magus Kaolinite. Super Sailor Moon! The time has come. The time for this Omega Area to be our sacred land. There's no longer anything for us to fear." Her eyes sparkle. "With this Mystical Silver Crystal..." Power flows out of the crystal in her hands, into her body.

Chibi-Usa's body begins to glow.

"Chibi-Usa!?" Mamoru says.

"Ohh... Strength! From deep in my body, I'm filling with it! As soon as I took it in, my insides were overflowing! This is the power of the Mystical Silver Crystal! Oh, I can feel it! The power! The light of life similar to the Taioron Crystal! Mistress 9! It's been opened! So that is the power of the Mystical Silver Crystal!"

"Master Pharaoh 90! I got this power for you! Now I will go to you!" She floats to the stone castle.

"Oh! Such brilliance!" Pharaoh 90 says. "Life energy thousands of times greater than the human souls! The Taioron Crystal can't compare with this power! Inexhaustible, infinite power! The time for me to be imbued with power again has come! So that this planet will become our second mother world, now it is the time for my utilization! Heh heh heh. The Mystical Silver Crystal! More! More power!"

Chibi-Usa's body glows.

"Chibi-Usa!?" Mamoru says. "This light!? What's happening!?"

Her eyes open.

"Heh heh heh!" Mistress 9 says. "More power! Open up more power!"

Chibi Usa's body begins to shake. "Chibi-Usa!?" (Because the Crystal is Chibi-Usa's it is a prt of her, it is her life source, what her soul itself is, as it is taken and used, so is Chibi Usa herself.)

"No!" Hotaru says. "I have to hold it in... The power must not be increased further! The power must not be opened! The power of the Mystical Silver Crystal can be sent out easily to you!"

Mistress 9 cries out. "My forehead! My forehead is splitting! It's scorching! Ohhh... Somebody is controlling my body from inside me! I have to endure a little more. Master Pharaoh 90. If I complete the utilization, I won't have such an inconvenient body... I'll get rid of it. I'll rule this puny world!"

"That can't happen!"

Chibi-Usa floats through the air. "Where is this!? It's dark, and scary. Why am I here?Something's been coming after me! I'm scared! Somebody help me!"

"Chibi-Usa-chan..." Hotaru calls.

"Huh?" Chibi-Usa looks around and sees a shining crystal. "Oh. My Mystical Silver Crystal!" She floats down to get it. "Great. I was worried when I didn't have it. Without it my body couldn't hold up. It's a part of my body."

"That's right. It is of one mind with you and your heart. You can't be away from it. And you shouldn't easily show it to people. Protect your spirit softly."

"Mom...? No, it's not like in mom's arms. Cool, big, wide... I feel at ease."

"It's all right," Hotaru says, holding her. "I'll give you protection. I won't let them get your beautiful, pure spirit, and the Mystical Silver Crystal. I'll be sure to save you."

"The Mystical Silver Crystal's power has weakened!?" says Mistress 9. It is because Chibi Usa has control over it again.

"Chibi-Usa!?" says Mamoru. "Her convulsions stopped!? Her hand... is warm. Is somebody... protecting Chibi-Usa's spirit!?"

The Senshi are all inside the Infinity Labrynth now.

"You can see the Delta and Tokyo Bay from here," says Usagi. "Lots of buildings under construction... Like ruins hiding black monsters... Ruins... That image of ruins... I don't want to think that's a vision of the future! I want to defeat these enemies, whose form we can't see, quickly. I want to live without feeling this anxiety, and return to the peace of before! Unless we hurry and rescue Hotaru-chan, Chibi-Usa's spirit, and the Mystical Silver Crystal... The time of Sailor Saturn's awakening... The time of the end of the world... Can we return to the peace of before...? Chibi-Usa...! Hotaru-chan..."

"No good," says Ami, her visor over her eyes. "I can't get a read on the internal structure or their coordinates. And I can't find any life signs at all..."

"A lot of strong power is accumulating in the Infinity zone," says Rei. "It has a strong influence. Now this land is becoming chaotic."

"Let's go to the basement," Michiru says. "The labs are concentrated in the basement. We might be able to encounter the daimons."

"Let's divide into two groups," says Minako. "While we investigate the floors one by one, down from this one, the 56th, you go down to the bottom. Sailor Moon, take the elevator to the basement with Uranus and the others."

"Two groups..." Usagi thinks.

Minako smiles. "Be careful." She leaves with the other three girls.

"Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus..." Usagi calls faintly.

"Let's go," Haruka says. "To the basement." They get in the elevator.

"Heh heh heh," Tomoe says, working in the lab. "Seems they've boarded the elevator. A death sentence. The pretty ones who carry the lights of the planets' protection. The time has come! The grand occasion of the fruits of my long-awaited dream! My life-work. The superhuman. Hundreds of times a human's brains and physical strength. Tens of times longer a lifespan. Just a little more genetic operation and medicine administration. Then it will be possible to make the cyborg. I'm a genius. They'll be sorry they outcast me. For my research, I've chosen this Omega Area. The heavens gave me another chance since the accident. After the accident, I greatly reconstructed Hotaru's body. It was the birth of the fruit of my dream, the superhuman. During that biggest experiment..."

A blast strikes the building.

"Professor!" Kaolinite calls. "Lightning!" A bolt hits her.

"Kaoli-kun!!"

"They descended... Carrying eggs from another world. God chose me. I made a blunder in Hotaru's great reconstruction. I found a chance to use an egg of the utilization. I produced beautiful, perfect beings. Next, our loving daimon! I won't miss making the failures for us, the Death Busters. My experiments are for you. If our master's utilization is completed, we can survive completely. But I will continue the utilization by all means! I will get more perfect ones like me! A human has been united with foreign living things. I am clearly the inventor of the new creation, the superhuman. I am its god!"

"Dad..." Hotaru thinks.

The elevator descends.

"I- I'm nauseous..." Usagi says.

"You okay, Sailor Moon?" Setsuna asks.

"Guess even Super Sailor Moon can't go against gravity on an elevator," says Haruka.

"It's picking up speed," Usagi thinks. "Just like... I'm falling endlessly to hell... Scary..."

"I wonder if Venus and the others are okay," Usagi says.

"Did you want to go with them?" asks Michiru. "They should be fine."

"Aren't you three scared? Never mind! Being trapped in this building of ghosts and this never-ending elevator is getting to me. From here on, we'd fight the big enemy. Or so I thought. I feel like I'm all alone. It's scary. I just feel a bad premonition coming..."

"Don't call this solitude," Haruka says. "Solitude extends more, infinitely. Like the places where we were."

"Tell me," Usagi says. "What kind of places were you at, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto?"

"Deserted places. Where there's nobody."

"Completely alone."

"No one will come to help you. Lonely places."

"But, in any time," says Haruka, "we looked back at the distant Silver Millennium, and the figures of the beautiful queen and princess. That was our only ray of light."

"Yes," says Michiru. "When that light shined, it brought us strength. There was nothing we couldn't do."

"Whenever we were about to give up," says Setsuna, "that light always led us on."

"This is taking long," Michiru says. "Too long."

"I'm worried about the others," says Setsuna.

The elevator shakes around. The door opens, and they're tossed out of it. They fall through the darkness.

"Sailor Moon!"

"Uranus! Neptune! Pluto!" Usagi calls. She loses sight of them. "Darkness everywhere. I'm scared...! Uranus! Neptune! Pluto! I can't hear their voices! Where are they!? Venus! Jupiter! Mercury! Mars! I'm worried. We shouldn't have separated back there. Mamo-chan, Chibi-Usa! Without everyone, I can't do anything. What should I do!? All alone here is the darkness. What can I do!?"

"That was our only ray of light."

"When that light shined, it brought us strength. There was nothing we couldn't do."

"Whenever we were about to give up, that light always led us on."

Usagi sees a point of light high above.

"Always... Everyone is shining on me, leading me... When I'm about to be crushed, I always remember. I'm carrying a light in my heart too. That's the spirit of all of us, in one. Just believe. For the moment that light shines down...!"

She raises her arm to the light.

"I am Super Sailor Moon! With the strength given to me by everyone, I will shine through the darkness and make it light! I won't yield to any darkness or delusions! Rainbow Moon Heartache!!"

Usagi, Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna crash to the bottom of the elevator. The door opens.

"Welcome to my lab," Tomoe says. "I've been looking forward to this. Heh heh. My pretty daimons are feeling hungry."

The monsters chase after Usagi.

"Cronos Typhoon!"

"Submarine Reflection!"

The daimons tear apart.

"Heh heh heh! Still more! I can make any amount of daimons! Ahahaha!"

"Stop it!" Usagi says. "We don't want to fight you here. Where's Hotaru-chan!?"

"Hotaru? Formerly my daughter. She's at the holy sanctuary now, devoting the light similar to the Taioron Crystal, the power of the Mystical Silver Crystal, to Master Pharaoh 90!"

"Master Pharaoh 90!?"

"The master's quickening has finally begun! It's too bad, but this place will be your graveyard! You will be my first victims! I am Gelmatoid!" He mutates into a large monster.

"A daimon!?" "I am not like the daimons," he says. "I am a superhuman! The union of human and outside life! Die!" A blast of light shoots out. The soldiers jump away.

"Until seconds ago, this was Hotaru-chan's father!" Usagi thinks. She narrowly dodges an attack.

"This isn't a human anymore!" Haruka says. "It's a daimon! An enemy! Space Sword Blaster!"

The monster knocks her away.

"Uranus!" Usagi calls. She grabs the heart moon rod. "Rainbow Moon Heartache!!"

The monster is ripped apart in a burst of light. The poor man's soul had been utilized long ago, ashad Kaolinite's. "Dad... The gentle dad since mom died... The dad who came to save me... He wasn't my dad anymore... Goodbye, Dad..."

"Who's that!?" Usagi says. "It... seemed like someone was there..."

The ground begins to shake.

"Something's coming!" Setsuna says. "Garnet Ball!"

A sphere of light forms around them.

"What's that!?" Usagi says. "Something's crashing out through the ceiling!? They're up there! Mercury! Mars! Jupiter! Venus!?"

"Is something coming from below!?" Minako says.

The floor breaks apart as light blasts through it. The four soldiers are thrown into the air.

Usagi reverts to her normal sailor suit.

"Sailor Moon!?"

"My Super Sailor Moon power-up came undone! Did the connection of spirits break!? Did something happen to the others' bodies!? Mars! Mercury! Jupiter!! Venus!!"

They float up through the hole in the ceiling, outside. The sky above is swirling with colors.

"The sky!?"

They see a glass room at the building's entrance.

"Something's inside the building! That's...!"

ACT 33 VOLUME 10

This is where Usagi is FINALLY revealed to be THE MESSIAH.

Selenity stands atop a pillar in the crescent moon's light.

"That light always led us on... Just like a messiah..."

"Something strange is happening to the sky!?" Setsuna says.

"Hotaru-chan!?" Usagi calls. "No, that form is... A daimon!?"

The earth rips open in front of the building, and the building is torn apart. It collapses in the center of the Delta.

"The Infinity School building!!"

The reflecting pool soars into the air, carrying four balls of light with it. Four bodies are held inside.

"That's...!? Mercury! Mars! Jupiter! Venus!" Usagi flies after them. "Mars! Mercury! Jupiter! Venus!" As she approaches, she's knocked away. "I can't get near it! Everyone!?"

"Look!" Haruka says. "That...!? Something's covering the sea! That's...!?"

"We interrupt this for a national emergency broadcast!" the TV reporter says. "This is an emergency warning announcement! First class martial law has been officially declared in the Tokyo Bay coast area! A mysterious giant explosion is occurring in the Tokyo Bay coast area! The center of the Delta is also experiencing a severe earthquake of unknown magnitude. Martial law has been declared! Residents should take refuge at once..."

"Heh heh heh..." says Mistress 9. "The time has come. Now with the energy that's been accumulated, Master Pharaoh 90 will assimilate this planet. The time of the utilization!"

"Assimilate this planet!?"

"When the utilization is completed, this land will be one with the master. It will be the second Tau star. This planet will become our mother world! Heh heh heh! Ahahahaha!"

Michiru looks in her mirror, then toward the sea.

"Neptune!?"

"The sea is subsiding all at once," she thinks. "Is it foreboding a tidal wave!?"

"The sky is looking strange," thinks Haruka. "Is a storm coming? Or else, is something coming through the space...?"

"If things go like this, there will be a huge earthquake," thinks Setsuna.

The three jump into the air.

"Uranus! Neptune! Pluto!" Usagi calls.

"We must protect this land."

They land on top of their respective buildings in the corners of the Delta.

Setsuna raises her garnet rod. "The soon reigning Neo-Queen Selenity. This planet where our queen was born."

Michiru raises her mirror. "We will defend this planet of the new Silver Millennium!"

Haruka raises her sword. "That is our mission!"

Three beams of light shoot into the sky, meeting above the Infinity zone.

"Making a force field?" Mistress 9 says. "Useless."

"Uranus! Neptune! Pluto!" Usagi calls.

"When the master's utilization is completed, it will no longer be necessary for me to stay inside a human body!" She bends over. "I can't work freely!? I can't get out!!"

"You won't escape!"

"Who's that!?"

"This body is still mine," Hotaru says. "You won't get out of it! I won't let you be free!"

"I thought you has disappeared near the food inside me. But you're still living, stubbornly. Your tiny soul! I took in the Mystical Silver Crystal and powered up. Now I have no reason to control you. I will cast off this body and break it to pieces!"

"You can tear it to pieces! It will scatter apart! But Chibi-Usa-chan's spirit, and the Mystical Silver Crystal. Whatever happens, I'll protect them!"

"Impudent humans! Nobody will stop me!"

"Moon Spiral Heart Attack!"

Mistress 9 raises her arm, and Usagi is knocked back.

"From the full Mystical Silver Crystal," she says, "you can't take my power! Power! More power!" She looks up at the pool in the air. "The sailor soldiers' souls!"

"Mercury! Mars! Jupiter! Venus!"

Four lights leave their bodies, and they collapse in the empty pool.

Usagi flies up to them. "Everyone! Hold on!"

Mistress 9 licks her lips.

"Oh no!" Usagi says. "Did she steal their spirits!? No...!"

Hotaru sees the four soldiers' bodies floating in space. She goes over and clutches five balls of light.

"Troublesome worms!" Mistress 9 says. "Bring me souls!" Hotaru cries out in pain.

"With the power of my body, I might be able to protect the Mystical Silver Crystal, and the spirits of Chibi-Usa-chan and the four soldiers...! My spirit was seized by them. It is my death... But why is this all I can do? My dad is gone... I have nothing anymore... But why do I still have power? If I'm this strong... Inside of me, I feel another, bigger me. That me is saying to keep life, and save everyone. All I can do is to take these five spirits, and the Mystical Silver Crystal, and rescue them from here!"

A ball of light bursts out of Mistress 9. "Damn!" she says. "The souls are being taken away! But, now I am free!"

Usagi looks up. "That white light..."

Four lights come out of it, and go into the bodies of the soldiers. They slowly open their eyes.

"Everyone!" Usagi says. She faintly sees Hotaru watching her, smiling. Hotaru turns into a ball of light and flies away.

"Hotaru-chan!"

Mamoru opens his eyes. He gets up and feels Chibi-Usa's forehead. "I dozed off. Chibi-Usa..."

Hotaru's spirit sits in the open window.

"Who are you!?" Mamoru says.

Two lights enter the room. One goes into Chibi-Usa's body, the other becomes the Mystical Silver Crystal.

She opens her eyes.

"Chibi-Usa!"

"Mamo-chan..." Chibi-Usa sits up, and sees the spirit.

"Good."

"Hotaru-chan!?"

"I was able to save you, Chibi-Usa-chan. I'm happy. It's good. We're both girls, but it's strange. It must have been fate that we met."

"I thought that too," Chibi-Usa says. They hold hands. "Hotaru-chan..."

Mistress 9 mutates into a large monster.

Hotaru screams.

"Hotaru-chan!?"

"It's good we met. I'm glad we became friends, Chibi-Usa-chan. Thank you. Goodbye."

Her spirit fades away. "Hotaru-chan!?"

"Hotaru-chan...?" Usagi thinks.

"This... This sad fate..." thinks Chibi-Usa. She starts to cry. "Hotaru-chan... There are people who must live this fate..."

Mamoru's fist tightens. "Chibi-Usa," he says. "Can you fight with me, to help Sailor Moon?"

Chibi-Usa looks up. "I can fight. I won't cry anymore. I am a sailor soldier too. With the life Hotaru-chan brought back to me, I'll fight with all my might! Moon Prism Power! Make Up!" She appears in her sailor suit. She wipes her eyes. "Mamo-chan! You gave me strength. Thank you! We might not have power like Sailor Moon, but let's go fight together!" She runs out of the room.

"I feel just like I'd given my wife a daughter," Mamoru thinks. "Wondrous, full of power. It's more like I've been given strength from Chibi-Usa. And Hotaru-chan's power too. Usa! I'll be there soon!"

The monster roars as it rises over the Infinity zone.

"Sailor Moon!" Makoto says. "That thing! What is it!? It looks strange. It seems like it's in pain!"

The monster screams as it approaches them.

"Oh no!"

"Pink Sugar Heart Attack!"

The monster falls back.

"Chibi... Moon!"

"Chibi-Moon!" Usagi says. "How...?"

"Hotaru-chan saved me," she says. "She gave her life, and protected me."

"Hotaru-chan gave her life..." Usagi thinks. "She's gone... Hotaru-chan..."

"What are you doing!" Mamoru calls. "Quickly! Transform into Super Sailor Moon!"

"Tuxedo Kamen!"

"If you don't act, this planet will be eaten away by that thing! Those three are using a huge amount of power to sustain that force field. Hurry and defeat it!"

"Sailor Moon!" the others say.

"Yes," Usagi thinks. "I must protect it. I must save this planet!" She reaches to the sky. "Holy chalice! Appear in my hands! Gather the sacred power of the holy soldiers!"

The chalice appears above her as the others join hands.

"Sailor Moon...!" Chibi-Usa thinks. "Someday... Someday, I'll be like her too..."

The crescent moon appears on Usagi's forehead.

One appears on Chibi-Usa as well. Another chalice floats in the air.

"The holy chalice...!" Chibi-Usa thinks. "Two holy chalices!?"

"Crisis, Make Up!"

Usagi and Chibi-Usa both appear in super sailor suits.

"Super Sailor Chibi-Moon!!"

Usagi and Mamoru look at her. "Super Sailor Chibi-Moon..."

Usagi and Chibi-Usa exchange glances and cross their moon rods together.

"Let's go!" Usagi says. "Super Sailor Chibi-Moon!"

"Now join our power together!"

They fly toward the monster in the Infinity zone. It screams as it rises into the air.

Usagi and Chibi-Usa hold out their moon rods.

"Rainbow Double Moon Heartache!!"

Power blasts at the monster.

Michiru, Haruka, and Setsuna hold up their mirror, sword, and orb.

The monster gets larger.

"It can't be... It's exposed to the power of the Mystical Silver Crystals, and it's growing!? More power! Enough to blow it into pieces!"

The monster screams.

"Everyone!" Minako calls. "We'll do it too! Stop that thing's growth! We'll defend this planet too!

Venus Wink Chain Sword!"

"Mars Snake Fire!"

"Jupiter Coconut Cyclone!"

"Mercury Aqua Mirage!"

"Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber!"

"Ohhhhh!" the monster says. "This energy... This is the power of the carriers of the planets' protection! Such strong power! Give me more energy! Open that power to me!"

"It's not affected!?" Minako says.

"Heh heh heh. You all will be assimilated with this planet. You have no reason to blow me apart!"

The monster stops. "I can't move!? The force field!"

"We won't let you get outside the Delta!" Michiru says.

"This is your graveyard!" says Haruka.

"Heh heh heh!" A swirling black gathering of stars appears in the sky.

"The Tau star system!!" says Ami.

"Ohh!" the monster says. "The long forgotten distant mother stars, the Tau star system! To our star system, this planet will be our second home! Heh heh heh!"

"That won't be allowed!" Usagi says. "You won't have this planet!"

"I can't..." Chibi-Usa thinks. "My power's..."

She falls from the sky.

"Chibi-Usa!!"

Mamoru runs and catches her on the ground.

"Ohhh!" the monster says. "Master Pharaoh 90! I will be the master's partner! I'll do all I can for this planet, the master, and the utilization!"

Blackness bursts from its forehead, and it falls from the sky, collapsing in the Infinity zone.

"Master Pharaoh 90..." Usagi thinks. "That thing is making everything rapidly black!"

"Ohh... What happened... My body... My body..." Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna drop to the floor, dropping their weapons. The light overhead goes out.

"Their force field disappeared!?" Usagi thinks. "Uranus! Neptune! Pluto!"

"I can't..." Setsuna thinks, "put out any more power..."

"Damnit..." thinks Haruka. "We've come this far..."

The Tau system looms above, shining through a clearing in the sky of energy.

"The black lava smelling of death is covering the earth... Will this planet belong to the enemies!? No! I won't let anything more happen! Rainbow Moon Heartache!" Usagi attacks.

The other four soldiers attack.

The power swirls into the darkness below.

"Our... matchless power... was drawn into the darkness..."

The four soldiers moan weakly, and drop from the sky.

"Venus! Mars! Jupiter! Mercury!!"

They land on the roofs of the three surrounding buildings.

"Hold on, Venus!" Haruka says.

"Chibi-Moon!" Mamoru says, holding her limp body.

This is the most important scene, picture it, Usagi is alone in the air in Super Sailor form, hair billowing, her face sad and tear stained yet a look of determination gripping her.

"Everyone..." Usagi thinks, floating alone in the air. "They came to their limits... They have no more power left... No. There is still some. Everyone's power is still left inside me. Now I'll show their power to the full. I can fight with all their energy. Only me. Only me and the Mystical Silver Crystal! Legendary moon chalice! Appear in my hands! Lend me power. Fill me with the final power of the nine sailor soldiers, legendary moon chalice!"

Mamoru sees a light above. "Sailor Moon!" he calls. "Usa!? What are you planning to do!?"

She smiles at him, the chalice in her hands. She drops from the sky, over the ruin of the Infinity zone.

"Usa!!"

The nine soldiers look down in alarm.

Usagi falls. "I am going to open the power of the legendary moon chalice and the Mystical Silver Crystal, inside that thing!"

"Usaaaaaa!" Mamoru screams.

Chibi-Usa gasps.

Usagi lands in the blackness. Light explodes all around it.

The mirror, orb, and sword flash.

"The talismans!?"

They lift them into the air.

A hole opens in the monster in the darkness.

A sailor-suited figure rises into the air, lying on her back, in a sphere of light.

"That's..."

"Oh my god..."

The figure stands up in the air, the mark of the planet Saturn emblazoned on her forehead.

"I am the messenger from the depths of death. Carrier of the protection of the planet of ruin, Saturn. The soldier of silence. Sailor Saturn."

"She's awakened..."

"Sailor Saturn...!!"

"Is this the end!?"

"Is Sailor Moon... Is Super Sailor Moon... dead!?"

Sailor Saturn looks at them. "I was called by the pulled trigger long ago. It doesn't seem that it's been that long yet. I seem like an invited guest. I slowly met accidents one after another, and disturbing occurrences were brought about. Suddenly history seemed to have gone a bit wrong."

She flies down to the blackness and stabs it with her glaive.

"I can't move!? Ohhh!" the monster says. "Power... My power is being soaked up!"

"Through the accident in this Infinity zone," says Saturn, "the one I was supposed to have eternal sleep in, 'Hotaru,' began to live without life as a cyborg. In that girl's body, I wasn't supposed to awaken. It was a shock to my spirit as well. Then that body began to live under the utilization. Then Professor Tomoe's twisted mind summoned those from the other world. But... There was nothing I could do. We were drawn here. The passage of the other world opened here. This land was the chosen place. All the power gathered here. And then everything began the walk toward ruin. Everything was set up by fate. Now that I've awakened, I must bring down this silence glaive."

"The silence glaive," Michiru thinks. "The scythe of the goddess of death."

"If it's brought down," says Setsuna, "it will mean the lapse of everything. Sailor Saturn!"

"Damnit!" Haruka says. "Why was all this set up by fate!? It can't be! Stop! Saturn!!"

"Then..." Chibi-Usa thinks. "Is there no future for us?"

"Death Reborn Revolution!"

Ribbons surround Saturn as she raises the glaive.

"Ohhh!" the monster says. "Power! My power! It's being sucked away! This huge negative aura!? The biggest power of the Omega Area's continued sleep! Has that power awakened as the guiding light of ruin!? You!? Ohhhh!"

The darkness rises into the sky toward the Tau star system overhead.

"The monster is leaving the earth's surface!? What power!"

"You abominable creature!" Saturn says. "Invader! Return to nothingness! Then the death for this world!"

Blackness swirls around her as a torrent of energy rises to the sky.

"It's the end!" Mamoru thinks. "We can't stop it anymore!"

"She'll bring down the silence glaive," thinks Haruka. "Along with the monster, this world will end! Sailor Moon!!"

Saturn turns and swipes the glaive down.

Mamoru covers Chibi-Usa as explosions rip apart the city. Buildings collapse to the ground.

"Everyone... Everyone... Disappearing." The sea crashes around them. "The world... is ending..."

Mamoru drops to his knees, tears in his eyes.. "Usa... Usako...! Only you kept me alive... And I couldn't protect you...!"

"Sailor Moon..." Chibi-Usa says. "Mom...!!"

"Damn," Haruka says. "Can't we do anything!? Everything will be destroyed. I... I just wanted to protect that girl! That was all!"

"Sailor Saturn...!" Chibi-Usa says.

A point of light appears in the center of the Infinity zone. It rises up into the air, clearing everything away. A figure lies inside the sphere of light.

"Sailor Moon...!" Chibi-Usa calls. "Super Sailor Moon!?"

Usagi opens her eyes, the moon on her forehead glowing.

The others all look up.

"Super Sailor Moon!!" Mamoru says.

"Her costume..."

"Changed!?"

Usagi looks at herself. "I...?"

"Attack! Attack!" the monster says. "To the Tau star system! Reduced to being drawn by gravity to the darkness of the graveyard! Our home of death, the Tau star system!"

"It's beautiful," says Saturn. "The suffering of the moment of destruction. Now! Right away! The guide to death, Sailor Saturn, will lead to the world of silence and nothingness!"

"Saturn!?" Usagi says. "Like this, we'll be drawn to outer space together!"

"Oh no!" the others think. "Together!?"

"I don't feel despair," Saturn says. "Along with death, there is always hope and rebirth. You will cause that, Super Sailor Moon.", indicating that although Saturn can bring death and destruction, Usagi is the one who can bring back life and rebirth.

"Sailor Saturn...!"

"Sailor Moon, because you opened up the power of the legendary moon chalice and the Mystical Silver Crystal, you can save this planet. For my rebirth, I eliminate death and destruction. Soon the Tokyo where the Silver Millennium is will dwell on this chosen land. The sacred power is on your side. Sailor Pluto! Forever shut the passage to the other world!"

"Saturn!!"

"Hurry!"

"Great guardian deity of time and space!" Setsuna says. "My father Cronos! Give me power! Close the door of the broken law! Dark Dome Close!"

The space-time door appears, sucking in energy.

Sailor Saturn smiles as she slowly fades into it. The door closes.

"Saturn!!" Setsuna yells.

It vanishes.

Usagi stares into the sky.

"Along with death... Hope and rebirth begin."

She appears in her white gown, and she raises the heart moon rod in the air. Buildings are reconstructed, and the people wake up.

"The city..." Luna says from the command center. "The people are being resurrected!"

"Neo-Queen Selenity...?"

Usagi stands atop a devastated pillar in the center of the ruined building, holding up the rod.

"The messiah..." Mamoru says. "So it was you... Selenity."

They hear a baby crying. "A baby?" Michiru runs to the sound. She finds a baby lying on a blanket, with the mark of Saturn on its forehead.

"Hotaru?" Michiru says.

"She was reincarnated...?" says Haruka.

"It must be all alone," Michiru says. "Let's raise it ourselves."

"The three of us are parents."

"Yeah."

"Uranus! Neptune! Pluto!" Usagi says.

"Princess...!"

"That baby..."

The three look at Usagi.

"We'll be going," Haruka says. "Since we've been given a new mission. Since you're important."

"You're going?" Chibi-Usa says. "Where?"

"We'll see," Haruka says. "Maybe far away. Maybe close."

"Will we see you again?"

"Yes, of course," Setsuna says. "Super Sailor Chibi-Moon. We're allies. We'll certainly meet again."

"Right," says Michiru. "We're allies. We'll meet again soon. For sure. Small princess... We love you. We will return to you again." She hands them her mirror. "A sign of our promise."

"Neptune...!" Chibi-Usa says.

"Look in this mirror. Until we meet again, become a stronger, stronger soldier. Protect our precious princess."

The three soldiers disappear with the baby. "Uranus!! Neptune!! Pluto!!" Usagi calls.

Usagi and Chibi-Usa run to the condo where Haruka lives. They go up to her room. "Haruka-san!?" They burst through the door, and see the room empty.

The other four girls find the same thing at Michiru and Setsuna's condos. They all hear a noise outside, and rush to the patio decks. Three helicopters fly overhead.

"We will surely meet again. Haruka-san. Michiru-san. Setsuna-san. And Hotaru-chan. Again, someday... Surely!"
