We have now arrived at Act 14 in the manga, which would be the 2nd part of the 'R' series in the anime. I am including straight from the manga translations what really happened:

A dark, glowing moon floats in space. A man with white hair and a long white cape sips a drink.

"Did you find a reaction from the Mystical Silver Crystal?" he says. "Well done, Safir."

Two other men and a woman stand next to him. A figure sitting in a dark cloak behind a crystal ball appears.

"Wiseman."

"The stone that brings us disaster," says the figure. "The stone of deception. Get the Mystical Silver Crystal, immediately."

"Yes," says the man. "And once we get it, we will crush them!"

The four raise their glasses in a toast. Upside-down black crescent moons adorn their foreheads.

"For the rebirth of our magnificent history!"

At this point, a woman with black hair tied with two pointy balls at the top of her head appears and tells Diamaund that she feels a maiden with the power of fire, a woman just like herself, is one of the guardians of the crystal. She asks Prince Diamaund to give Rubeus and his servants the duty of defeating the guardian and attaining the crystal. She is the one known as 'Catsy' in the anime, and is one of the 'Black Moon sisters', but in the manga, her family name would be: AYAKASHI.

We are now taken to Usagi and Mamoru. Usagi is very upset by the pink haired girl who had shocked her with a gun, and had demanded the Mystical Silver Crystal. Mamoru does not believe that the girl is an oridinary kid and remarks on the fact that the girl seemed to know Usagi. Usagi and Mamoru search for the little girl. Here is what happens:

They walk to Arisugawa Memorial Park, and see the girl sitting by herself on a swing. The black ball resembling Luna's head lies on the ground next to her.

They hear the girl sniff. "Mom..." she cries.

Mamoru steps forward. "Chibi-Usa?"

[Chibi - tiny + Usa(gi)]

"Where's your house? We'll take you home." As he takes the girl's hand, he sees an image of a crystal city. "What?" he thinks. "What was that? Did I just see something...?"

The girl holds onto him. "He's warm," she thinks. "Like my dad..."

"Mamo-chan, you've gotten attached to her!" says Usagi.

"Now that I look, she's a normal kid," says Mamoru.

"She is not normal!"

"She has no hostility now," he says. He looks at the girl. "Where did you come from?"

"Say, do you know me?" says Usagi. "Is your name really Usagi? How do you know about the Mystical Silver Crystal?"

The girl is silent. They take the little girl back to Usagi's home and Chibi-Usa is scared of Luna because the cat glares at her in surprise.

The door to the house opens, and Usagi's mom comes out.

"Usagi, you're back?"

"Ack, mom!" thinks Usagi. She and Mamoru blush.

"Oh, Mom," says Usagi. "Umm... Err... This is Chiba Mamoru-san."

"Why, Usagi, you're always so helpful," says her mom. She looks at Chibi-Usa. "Is this your little sister?"

"No, that's..." says Mamoru. "A kid I'm kind of fond of."

"Well, she's got the same odango atama as Usagi," she says.

"Usagi is my name," says Chibi-Usa.

"Usagi?" thinks Luna.

"So, are you called Usa-chan?" says Usagi's mom.

Usagi's dad walks up to them with Umino.

"What's going on?" he says. "You're all gathered here."

"Hey, look at the toy Usa-chan's holding. The crescent moon bald spot looks just like Luna's."

"Yeah, it does!" says Usagi.

"H- How rude!" thinks Luna. "I don't have a weird face like that! But indeed, now that I look at it..."

"You're so cute!" says Usagi's mom. "Where's your home? It's dinner time already. Your mother must be worried."

"I..." says Chibi-Usa. "Tsukino Usagi. I've decided to watch you for a while."

"Huh!?" says Usagi.

Chibi-Usa picks up the ball and bounces it on the ground. In a burst of smoke it turns into an umbrella.

"Wh- what!?" says Usagi.

Chibi-Usa holds the umbrella out and spins it. A spiral pattern on the outside hypnotizes everyone there.

Luna shakes her head. "Oh no!"

She jumps on Usagi and Mamoru, knocking them out of their trances.

Usagi looks at her parents. "Mom!? Dad!?"

Her mom smiles at Chibi-Usa.

"Well," her mom says. "How great to have you here! From now on, think of this as your home. We've been waiting for you, Usa-chan."

Usagi gasps. Chibi-Usa sticks out her tongue at Usagi.

"Damn that brat!" thinks Usagi. She grabs Chibi-Usa and runs to her room upstairs.

"Show me your true identity!" she says. "Chibi-Usagi!! What did you do to Mom and Dad!? Return them to normal!"

"I won't..." Chibi-Usa says quietly.

"You won't...!? What's that supposed to mean!! What did you do!? Who the hell are you!?"

Chibi-Usa is silent.

"Say something!" says Usagi. "You've been unfair since the start! I won't go easy on you just because you're a kid!"

Her brother walks into the room.

"Hey!" he says. "Usagi's bullying Usagi!"

"Shingo..." says Usagi.

"Come on, Chibi-Usa," he says. "Dinner." He leads her out of the room.

"I am not chibi..." she says. As she leaves, the light catches on a key and a crystal hanging on a chain around her neck.

"What?" thinks Luna. "Usagi-chan," says Luna. "Where's the Mystical Silver Crystal?"

"I always carry it with me," says Usagi. "It's all right. Look, it's inside my compact brooch." She opens the brooch and takes out the crystal, holding it from a chain. "Since it returned to its original form and its release of power has stopped, I don't think I tend to notice it as long as I don't transform."

"There's something about that kid..." says Luna. "I want to keep an eye on her for a while. Since I don't feel any strong hostility, that's what I want to do. Leave it to me."

Usagi peers into Chibi-Usa's room the next morning, and sees her sleeping quietly.

"What a relief. Is she sleeping...? I don't believe it..." She then goes to see Mamoru.

"I see," says Mamoru. "So she's staying at your place after all, Usako. If Luna says it's all right... But we don't know what kind of bomb she might be carrying. I'll come to take a look at her, too. Should we at least ask the police whether anyone's asked them to search for her?"

Usagi and Mamoru walk away talking to eachother, as a boy in a Moto Azabu high school uniform watches them. Later Usagi goes and meets her friends at an ice cream parlor. They talk about Chibi Usa when Luna shows up and gives the girls new transformation pens. They had lost their ability to transform into the senshi when they sacrificed their lives and gave up the pens. We can see the very close relationship Usagi and Minako have.

"Everyone," says Luna. "I brought new transformation pens!" She drops wrist bracelets on the table. "And communicators. We must be prepared in case something happens."

Minako picks up hers. "So now... We can transform again." She puts her arm around Usagi, and the other girls hold up their pens. "Leave it to us! We'll fiercely protect Usagi!"

Makoto then introduces them to her latest crush's little sister and the 2nd reason she asked them all to meet at this parlor:

A group of boys walk by, and Makoto introduces a boy with blond hair whose name is Asanuma, and he is in 7th grade. This boy refers to Makoto as 'Makaoto-senpai' since she is his senior (older), and Makoto reveals that Asanuma has great respect for Mamoru.

"Asanuma-chan's a regular here," says Makoto. She points at Usagi. "Look, Asanuma-chan! It's the girlfriend of the Mamoru-senpai you respect, Tsukino Usagi. I brought her today thinking I'd show her to you." She turns to Usagi. "This guy says he respects Mamo-chan tremendously!"

"Wow, Mamo-chan's kouhai!?" thinks Usagi.

"So you really are... his girlfriend," says Asanuma. "Mamoru-senpai can do too much! He's playing all kinds of sports with the talented kids who've come since school's started, and he's nice to the kouhai in junior high like us... I, Asanuma Ittou, want to be like a senpai!"

Minako and Makoto stare at him. "He's so cute...!"

"Asaunuma, we're going!" says one of the other boys.

"Bye," says Asanuma. He leaves with them.

"Kouhai..." thinks Usagi. "I wonder if Mamo-chan's popular at school."

Rei looks at her watch. "Oh no!" she says. "I was going to be back at school by 4:30. I have preparations to make for the school festival."

"What? A school festival?"

"Come see me do a fortunetelling booth," says Rei. "I'll be right on target."

"Of course you'll get it right," says Makoto. "Being Sailor Mars..."

Rei then goes to the festival and meets Sarashina Kotono, the head of the supernatural phenomena study group. She is very happy to be getting help from Hino Rei!

Rei then sees Asanuma who also has notices Rei and comments on how pretty she is. People talk as Rei walks through the hallway. People talk about Rei as she passes them, about how she's become a lot easier to talk to lately (most likely because she now has real friends in the Sailor Soldiers and has learned to open up). We learn that Rei's mother's body was weak and that after she died, Rei had been a parishioner at the Hikawa Shrine with her grandfather on her mother's side. Her father, we learn, is a member of the political world.

Rei then gets into a conversation with the Kotono girl about UFOs, and the girl tells Rei of a mysterious incident of 'spontaneous combustion' where people catch on fire and get charred black. Rei has an ominous feeling about this, and the UFO presentation the group is doing. But she then learn of another group at the festival who is doing the same presentation, the supernatural phenomena club, Black Moon. We then meet a girl with long, dark hair tied in two pointed balls enters. She introduces herself as the head of the group: Kurozuki Cooan." [kuro - black + zuki (tsuki) - moon]

At that moment, the people at the festival see a UFO outside and all are very excited. Rei, instead, is very worried. That night, she has a nightmare of that same dark haired woman, in a frilly tutu, flinging lightning from her hand at a small girl behind a tree and burning her. Rei worries that this is a premonition.

We are now taken to a Usagi and Chibi-Usa at breakfast the next morning. Usagi is dressed up to go to Rei's school festival. Usagi gets up and leaves, leaving Luna and Chibi-Usa alone. Luna wonders why the little girl emits power, and it may be related to her having the same hair style as Usagi. As Usagi's mom gives Luna some milk, she notices that Chibi Usa has disappeared.

At the festival Usagi is searching for Rei. Rei, meanwhile has come across a woman in a white cloak with a crstal ball who is telling everyone's fortunes and telling them only how they will die. The woman, named Coan (catsy in the anime) spots Rei and tells her she will read her fortune. But Rei will not fall for this, and has a few words with Coan when she smells something burning. Kotono shows up and takes Rei to a nun who's been burned to a crisp and she sees other 'sisters' in habits, but they all have the dark moon, upside down crescent moon, emblem.

Rei then transforms into Sailor Mars. The renewed Moon Kingdom has endowed the transformation pens with stronger powers. Rei uses her 'Burning Mandala' attack, and faces off with Coan, the youngest of the 4 Ayakashi sisters. Flames burst foth from Coan's hands as well burning Rei.

Usagi now finds Rei and runs upto her, transforming into Sailor Moon. She takes off her tiara, revealing the golden crescent moon on her forehead. Shouting, "Moon Frisbee!" She throws the tiara at Cooan, but it bounces back off Cooan's hand.

"Look out!" A cane sticks in front of Usagi, knocking the tiara aside. Mamoru pulls Usagi out of the way.

"Tuxedo Kamen!" she says.

Ami then arrives and screams 'Shrine Aqua Illusion' blasting water at the enemies. Rei screams as the fire burns around her.

"I can't allow this...!" says Usagi. "Using fire to toy with people's lives!" She grasps Mamoru's hand. A light appears between them.

Prince Diamaund watches on a monitor. "That's...!"

A scepter appears between Usagi's and Mamoru's hands.

"That's the princess's..." thinks Luna. "No! Queen Selenity's rod!?"

Diamaund and Rubeus stare at it.

Chibi-Usa watches.

Usagi takes the rod in her hand. "Born from our strength, this is...!" she thinks. "The moon rod! My rod! I understand! So what should I shout!" She holds the rod out. "Moon Princess Halation!!"

Cooan is blasted away in a burst of light. A man approaches them. "Blowing away the rather strong Cooan..." he says.

"Who are you!?"

He smiles. "I am the crimson Rubeus, of the Black Moon."

Rei is lifted off the ground, surrounded in fire.

"But even if you eliminate Cooan," says Rubeus, "the field of fire cannot be destroyed by anyone."

"Rubeus," says Diamaund. "Take her. Bring Sailor Mars to our planet alive!"

"Mars!!" says Usagi.

"Roger, Prince Diamaund," says Rubeus. "If you say so. I'll be certain to send Sailor Mars to you."

The flames lift Rei into the sky. "Mars!?" calls Usagi.

Rubeus disappears with Rei in a flash of light.

"Sailor Mars!!"

This ends Act 14.

The light vanishes into the sky, people at the festival look up at it. Makoto and Minako rush over. "Sailor Moon!? Mercury!!" They shout.

"People are gathering!" says Makoto.

"Mars was...!!" cries Usagi.

"Undo your transformation and get out of here!" says Mamoru.

Usagi and Ami transform back into their regular clothes. The four girls look around and see Chibi-Usa watching. "Chibi-Usa!?"

"What are you doing here!?" says Usagi. "Were you... watching us!? You know something, don't you!? Oh no, was it your allies who took Mars..."

"Usagi-chan!!" Luna steps in front of Chibi-Usa.

"Luna!?" says Usagi. "Why are you sticking up for her?"

"Calm down, Usagi-chan!"

Chibi-Usa clutches her necklace, turns, and runs away.

"Hey!!" Usagi sees a key and a crystal hanging from the chain on Chibi-Usa's neck. "What?" she thinks. "The Mystical Silver Crystal!? Chibi-Usa's pendant... It looks just like the Mystical Silver Crystal!"

"If you're too aggressive," says Luna, "we won't even be able to hear what information we can get from her."

"But...!" says Usagi. "Mars! So suddenly, without any warning... She was taken away in the blink of an eye!" She runs off after Chibi-Usa.

Usagi enters her house.

"Usagi?" says her mom. "Weren't you with Chibi-Usa-chan? Where is she?"

"I wouldn't worry..."

"Usagi?"

"I don't know!" she says. "She said she's staying at a friend's house!" Usagi walks away. "I'm such a rotten kid..." she thinks. "I was going to raise my hand to such a little girl."

Mamoru looks out the window of his apartment. "Rain..." The doorbell rings. He walks over to the door and opens it. Luna stands outside. "Luna!?"

"Come with me, Mamo-chan," she says. "That kid..." He follows her out and finds Chibi-Usa sitting alone. "Chibi-Usa!?" He takes her inside and tucks her into bed. "She probably didn't want to go home..." says Luna. "And while she was wandering around, she ended up here..."

They watch Chibi-Usa sleep. "Maybe it's best if she stays here and doesn't go home tonight," says Mamoru. "Since Usako's on edge herself."

"I think Usagi-chan knows, too," says Luna. "This girl is frightened, since she's guarding abnormally against her surroundings. Knowing she has no hostility eases my mind completely. I don't think Chibi-Usa is an enemy."

We are taken inside Chibi-Usa's dream. She runs through the darkness. "Mom... Mom, where are you?"

"If anything should happen... You will do it somehow."

She looks up at the person as they walk through the city of crystal.

"Sailor Moon is undefeatable."

"Mom, Dad!!"

"Chibi-Usa!?"

She opens her teary eyes. "Mom..." she says. She buries her head in her pillow.

Mamoru and Luna watch her with concern.

A doll wearing a mask and tuxedo holds a rose out to Chibi-Usa.

"Don't cry, lady," the doll says. "If you make a sad face, even this rose will wilt. Now, accept this rose for you. I am called Tuxedo Kamen."

Luna approaches her. "I am Luna," she says. "Did you have a sad dream?"

Chibi-Usa's eyes widen.

"Did I startle you?" says Mamoru, holding the doll. "That's called ventriloquism."

"Me too," says Luna. "I can make it talk, too."

"Hey, Luna," says Chibi-Usa. "Do you know about this?" She holds out her black ball shaped like Luna's head. "This is the Luna-P ball. Luna-P is its name."

"Luna-P!?" thinks Luna.

Chibi-Usa bounces the ball. "Small Lady," it says. "Small Lady..."

"Small Lady?" says Mamoru.

"My name," says Chibi-Usa. "My mom gave it to me."

Mamoru picks up the ball. "Small Lady and Luna-P?" he says. As he touches it, fog seeps out of the ball and surrounds him. "Huh?" he thinks. "What is this!? An image coiling around me..."

"They see a key and crystal hanging on Chibi-Usa's necklace. Chibi-Usa jumps back and covers her neck.

"Is that your house key?" says Mamoru. "That thing now...!" he thinks.

"Without this, I can't return home," says Chibi-Usa. "It's an important key..."

"Where is your house?" says Mamoru.

"I don't know..." she says. "It was far away... And it was close..." Chibi-Usa looks up at him. "Say... Is this Sailor Moon strong?"

"Yeah," says Mamoru. "Undefeatable."

"Maybe she'll save my mom..." she says.

She lies down on the bed with the doll and the rose. "Mom..." Mamoru watches her.

Later, Mamoru brings Chibi-Usa and Luna back to Usagi's home.

Usagi opens the door. "Mamo-chan! Chibi-Usa...! Was she at your place? And Luna too...!"

Her mom comes out and takes Chibi-Usa inside. "Now, now, Chibi-Usa-chan, you had me worried!"

"Have you calmed down a bit?" says Mamoru.

"Chibi-Usa was carrying something that looked just like the Mystical Silver Crystal," says Usagi.

"I know, I saw it," says Mamoru. "Along with what looked like a house key. It seems she came here to seek Sailor Moon's help. She said to save her mom. Her name being Usagi might just be a coincidence, but whether or not it's her real name, it is suspicious. Let's keep an eye on her a little longer. Okay?"

Usagi gazes ahead blankly.

Mamoru takes her in his arms.

"Cheer up, Usako."

We are now taken to the underground, control center, located beneath the Crown Game center. Motoki (Andrew) is amazed to learn of its existence and that Usagi and the others are the Sailor Senshi. He encourages the Senshi to find Mars.

Ami is playing chess and speaking about how how to get Mars back. They comment on the name 'Black Moon'. We then go to a scene between Makoto and Kotono, whose father is a police chief. Makoto insists Rei is fine and will be back, when the other two are suspicious about her disappearance. They tell her that the sisters (nuns) who had 'black moon upside down crescents' on their heads had disappared, as had the woman who could predict people's deaths.The other senshi arrive and all speak of the Black Moon family. They walk away and Asanuma watches with Kotono as Makoto and Ami leave the school grounds, meeting Usagi, Mamoru, and Minako outside.

"What, Mamoru-senpai...?" he says. "Something about those people... And Hino-san (Rei) was like that, too."

Kotono looks at him. "They're not ordinary people," he says. "I smell a secret."

Asanuma yawns as he walks to school in the morning. Mamoru passes by him.

"Hey."

"Oh!" says Asanuma. "Good morning!"

"Mamoru-senpai..." he says. "Something about that Chiba Mamoru-senpai in the high school... He acts so elite. The first time he and I met was when I was having my exam preview for this school..."

"Umm, excuse me!" says Asanuma. "Is this the way to the junior high building?"

"Going to the exam preview?" says Mamoru. "Are you taking this school's?"

"Yes!" says Asanuma. "Moto Azabu Junior is the best in the city! It's distinguished as a private school with history, and it was recommended to me by my parents and others..."

"Distinguished?" says Mamoru. "Only people with determination can survive here. It's a hungry and mean school. Hang in there."

He shakes Asanuma's hand.

"It was like an electric shock."

Mamoru takes off his glasses.

"I'm sure you'll pass."

Asanuma stares up at him.

"He spoke with such composure, full of self-confidence... Two months later, I passed just like he had said. It was like Mamoru-senpai shared his strength with me then... And then, a month ago..."

A group of students play soccer on the field.

One swings his leg into the air toward the ball, and his shoe scrapes against Mamoru's forearm as he blocks him.

"Sorry!" says the boy. "Are you all right?"

"Yeah, fine," says Mamoru.

"Go to the nurse's office!"

Mamoru walks off the field.

Asanuma passes by.

"What... Mamoru-senpai?" he thinks.

He watches as Mamoru sweeps his hand over his scraped, bleeding arm.

The scrape and blood vanish.

"He healed the injury... by himself!?" thinks Asanuma. "Is he not human...?"

"I think... Mamoru-senpai could be an alien..." He holds his book bag over his shoulder.

"No way, that's impossible..."

This healing ability that Mamoru has, and his ability to sense and find anything on earth, at any time, neither of these are ever shown in the anime, and so many people think he has NO senshi ability. He is the 'Prince/Guardian' of the earth for a reason, his power IS the earth.

Now we see the next part of the Volume focus on Ami.

Diamaund walks through the hall of the castle on the Black Moon. He approaches a stream of light rising into the air. "Whenever I look at it," he says, "this reactor of the Evil Black Crystal has tremendous power."

"Prince Diamaund," says a man in a black outfit, with short black hair. "As you instructed, we are using the energy of this Evil Black Crystal without worry, producing soldier droids and sending them to that planet."

"Breathing life into mere droids," says Diamaund. "Your alchemy is splendid, Safir."

"Brother," says the man. "I understand we've captured Sailor Mars. Your methods are always too forcible. What do you intend to do? It's dangerous."

"I do as I wish," says Diamaund. "Are you going to order me?"

"Come on, Safir," says Rubeus as he enters the room. "We have sworn our loyalty to Prince Diamaund."

Rubeus kneels before Diamaund. "Prince, I will follow your methods," he says. "Sailor Mars is imprisoned by the Evil Black Crystal."

"Wiseman," says Diamaund.

A figure in a black cloak, hunched over a crystal ball, appears behind him.

"As you desire, Prince," says the figure. "There is utility value in that."

"As long as our goal has not been achieved," says Diamaund, "we'll keep her alive. We still have a long way to go."

"Prince Diamaund. I am next." A woman with short blue hair and a braided ponytail steps forward. "Leave this to me, the third of the four Ayakashi sisters, Beruche."

This sister is the counterpart of Sailor Mercury/Ami and intends to capture Chibi-Usa.

Taken to a scene with Ami playing chess. One of her classmates comments on how good Ami is at chess, and that she even defeated the Japan Junior Champion.

Ami walks into the bathroom and hears a girl scream. She goes and a girl greets Ami with the news that the water supply is broken. Ami decides to listen closely to hear the flow of the water, and goes outside to the water pipe in the backyard. The girl follos her and joins a man with a shovel and Ami points out where the water is spouting forth from a broken and bent pipe. Both are amazed that Ami was able to find it. Beruche stands aside and watches Ami. Ami notices her and is suspicious.

Ami floats on her back in the swimming pool. "I wonder who that person was... I can't clear my head of it... When I'm not concentrating on something, my thoughts go in bad directions. Mars..."

Two people talk by the side of the pool. "She's the daughter of the master painter Mizuno. Her form is just like a fish." At this moment, Usagi and Naru (Molly) show up and join Ami in the poo. Naru's mom is a member of the sports club and since Usagi wasn't feeling well, she decided to drag Usagi to the swimming pool. We learn that Ami comes to the club occasionally since her divorced father is a member. Her father is a Japanese painter, and he taight her how to swim and play chess.

A television plays nearby, and host introduces the world-famous dowser, Miss Beruche. Ami gasps in shock, recognizing the woman. It is revealed that by 'dowsing' one uses a pendulum or a forked stick and can find water veins and gold mines. But this woman uses her dowsing capabilites to find 'missing children', and one of the guests on the show vouches for that. The host also tells us that Miss Beruche is very talented at chess as well. Miss Beruche reveals that her main reason for coming to Japan is for the opponent she wants to compete with at any cost, the genius girl Mizuno Ami-san. She wants to challenge Ami in chess using the dowsing platform.

The next day, Ami goes to the World Chess Tournament and meets Beruche. Thet talk about dowsing and how its used for prediction and finding people. Ami remarks she wants to find someone and Beruche tells her that Ami can do it too - manipulate water - by using her powers as Sailor Mercury!

Ami is shocked that Beruche knows who she really is, and Beruche demands that Ami tells her what her secret is. Usagi and Makoto run inside and join Ami. Usagi demands to know what Beruche is saying. Beruche shouts that she wants the brat, the rabbit (Chibi-Usa)

Ami throws a switch on the wall, shutting the lights off. She, Usagi and Makoro transform into Sailors Mercury, Moon, and Jupiter.

An antenna rises from Makoto's tiara. She raises her arms. "Sparkling Wide Pressure!" Electricity shoots at Beruche, but she ducks down and disappears.

"You won't get away!" says Ami. They rush outside, into a crowd of people. Ami looks around through her visor. "Into the city!? We won't be able to find her like this! Huh!? The people...!!" People in the crowd begin to turn into droids, with black crescent moons on their foreheads. "What!? These things...! All of a sudden...!" Two of them grab Ami.

"Sailor Moon! Jupiter!" says Ami. "Attack! These things aren't people! They're enemies pretending to be people!!"

"Venus Love-Me Chain!!" Minako leaps down, swinging her chain at the droids and knocking them to the ground.

Ami spins around. "Shine Snow Illusion!"

"Trying to blind me!?" says Beruche. She lifts a manhole cover off the street, and water shoots up into the air.

It encircles Ami and lifts her off the ground. Water pours around her head and into her mouth. "I can't breathe!!" she thinks.

"Mercury!?" Usagi holds up the moon rod and swings it toward Beruche. "Moon Princess Halation!" Beruche screams as the blast strikes her.

The water continues its hold on Ami. "The water didn't free her!?"

Minako brings her arms together. "Rolling Heart Vibration!" The water is unaffected.

"Heh heh..." Rubeus appears before them. "You'll never be able to undo Beruche's ball of water like that," he says.

Usagi thrusts the moon rod forward. "Moon Princess..."

"Mercury!!"

Rubeus rises into the air with of Ami. They both disappear in a bright flash of light.

"Mercury!?" screams Usagi.

Chibi-Usa holds the Tuxedo Kamen doll.

"Sailor Moon is undefeatable."

"Mercury!!" Usagi cries.

Mamoru and Luna run to her. Chibi-Usa stares out the window into the sky.

This ends act 15. The next day, Usagi wakes up screaming from a nightmare.

"Mars!! Mercury!! Noooo!!" Usagi sits up in bed, tears in her eyes.

Chibi-Usa peers through the door to her room.

"Even in my dreams I never imagined something like this could happen," thinks Usagi. "Mars, and even Mercury, taken away in an instant, right before my eyes. The Black Moon... Who are they!? What are they after!?"

She turns around. "Who's there?" Chibi-Usa's black ball bounces outside her door. Usagi stares at it. Water gushes out of the ball's eyes.

"Don't cry, lady," says the ball. "Don't cry, lady."

Usagi jumps up, raising her pillow over her head. "What!? It talked!?"

"Don't smash Luna-P!!"

"Chibi-Usa!?" says Usagi.

Chibi-Usa stands by the door. Usagi looks at the ball.

"So, Luna-P is... this!?" she says. "I bet it got its name from Luna, right?"

Chibi-Usa stands silently. She shows Usagi her puppet. "Here," she says. "You can borrow this. Just for a little while."

"What!?" says Usagi. "A Tuxedo Kamen doll!? How did you get this!?"

"I got it from Mamo-chan."

"Ma- Mamo-chan?!" she yells. "Since when do you call him that!? He never gave me anything like this! How cruel, Mamo-chan, just giving one to Chibi-Usa!"

"What..." says Chibi-Usa. "Since you were crying, I thought you weren't feeling well..." She leans against the wall, hanging her head.

"What?" thinks Usagi. "Could she have been... trying to cheer me up...?"

(Chibi Usa is not nearly annoying here in the original story line as they make her to be in the anime versions. She is truly very cute and very, very sweet. She wants others to be happy around her. She is a very brave girl, coming from the future, back in time to save her mother, and running away from the evil Black Moon family. She is no ordinary girl and shows her true worth as a carrier of the blood of the moon family!)

Usagi runs into the Crown Game Center. "Mamo-chan!"

"Hey, Usako," says Mamoru. "The others aren't here yet. That's unusual. Did you two come here together?"

"Huh!?" says Usagi. She turns around and sees Chibi-Usa next to her.

"Chibi-Usa!? Did you follow me!?"

Usagi and Chibi Usa play with the UFO catcher at the arcade, and the two are arguing when Motoki shows up with 2 Sailor V dolls for them. Chibi Usa then takes a turn playing the Sailor V video game and is racking up THE highest score in history on the game! Usagi grabs Chibi Usa looking at her astonished, and Chibi-Usa just smiles up at Usagi. 'This game's fun!'

At the same time, Minako's pen lights up and beeps, warning her and Artemis that someone is playing the Sailor V game, and they rush to the game center, astonished to find that Chibi-Usa had been playing on it. Chibi Usa then moves onto the crane game Mamoru and Motoki show her. Motoki comments that it is hard and he never gets any candy.

The door to the game center then opens and in walks Makoto.

"Feels like a shower's coming," says Makoto. She coughs.

"Mako-chan!"

Mamoru sees Chibi-Usa holding an armful of candy.

"What the-!? Chibi-Usa-chan!? What happened!?"

"Wow!" she says. "I got all the candy out!"

He pulls her back. "What kind of trick did you pull, come on!" he says.

The Luna-P ball sits on the game machine, beeping. "Luna-P!?" he thinks. "Did she use this toy!? Could it be, it moved the crane at will!?"

Minako looks at Chibi-Usa.

Mamoru pats her on the head. "Okay, Chibi-Usa," he says. "Are you satisfied from playing all these? Shall we be heading back?" He lifts her up in his arms. "Usako and the others have things to do now. And I have to go to prep school, so..." He goes and drops her off at Usagi's house.

Mamoru rubs Chibi-Usa's head. "See you later, Chibi-Usa," he says as he waves. "Your new uniform is cute."

Back at the crown game center, Atermis and Luna are startled by Chibi Usa's talent with the Sailor V game, and wondr if she knows of the hidden location of the command center. The game is protected and can reveal the location. Usagi apologizes for having brought Chibi Usa here, but Luna remarks:

"Usagi-chan," says Luna. "The one who made you cheer up so much was Chibi-Usa. Shouldn't you be thankful for now?"

(Usagi has, of course, been very depressed over the disappearance of Ami and Rei, and Chibi-Usa has, in the meantime, been doing her best to cheer Usagi up)

The continue to discuss the Black Moon family and what their objective is and realize that the 'rabbit' they want may be Chibi-Usa.

"Chibi-Usa might be holding the key to all the mysteries," says Makoto. "A girl who looks just like Usagi, suddenly falling from the sky. I wonder where she came from.She didn't come to attack us. She was carrying something that looked like the Mystical Silver Crystal. Is she an enemy, or an ally? Can we believe in that girl? At least now it's clear, for both us and the enemies, Chibi-Usa is an important piece in the game. Until we unlock this mystery, we can't hand her over to them."

She coughs.

"Mako-chan, have a cold?" says Usagi.

A news broadcast plays on the monitors before them. The newscastor tells them that the rainy season has entered, and the showers are increasing in strength. Coincidently, a strange cold is going around as well. He also speaks of 'mystery circles' showing up in England, and that a few days ago, they suddenly appeared here, in Tokyo.

Makoto watches the broadcast. "Scary," she says. "I get the feeling the Black Moon is quietly moving in deeper. I really don't know what's going to happen next. It's like we're being enchanted by some magic spell."

Chibi-Usa looks up as rain starts to fall. She bounces the Luna-P ball on the ground, and it changes into an umbrella.

A young girl stares at her, her mouth hanging open.

"Abracadabra!" says Chibi-Usa. "Poof!!"

She pops open the umbrella, and a flock of birds flies out from it.

The girl runs to her mother. "Mommy! Did you see that!? Doves flew out from that girl's umbrella! It was an amazing trick!!"

"Oh, really?" says her mother. "Well, it's getting cold, so let's go home now."

Mamoru sees Chibi-Usa. "Oh, Chibi-Usa?"

Chibi-Usa looks down. "Abracadabra," she says. "Abracadabra... Poof."

"That is the charm that will bring fun to you, Small Lady," says the woman in the sailor suit, with long dark hair falling on her dark skin.

Chibi-Usa holds the key hanging from her necklace. A bolt of lightning strikes in the distance.

Mamoru approaches her. "Chibi-Usa?"

She stares ahead.

An explosion rips through the city of crystal.

Mamoru takes Chibi-Usa's hand. His eyes widen.

Chibi-Usa screams and covers her ears.

"Mom!!" she cries.

She grabs onto Mamoru.

"Chibi-Usa!?" he says.

She looks up at him with tears in her eyes. "Mamo-chan?"

"What is it?" he says. "Did the sound of thunder scare you? It will go away. It's just echoing from a distance."

"I'm sure I saw it now," he thinks. "Just as I grasped Chibi-Usa's hand, it streamed into me. The image of some explosion. What was that!? The explosion of an enormous city...!?"

Chibi-Usa holds onto him. "Mom..." she says. Luna-P bounces next to them, beeping.

As Mamoru wonders about the vision he saw holding Chibi Usa, we are taken to the sky, to Prince Diamaund and the iseman.

"Wiseman," says Diamaund.

The cloaked figure appears.

The bodies of Ami and Rei float on their backs before them.

"These two are just like that queen," says Diamaund. "I wonder if they too will continue to live young like this, without aging. Borrowing the power of the Mystical Silver Crystal... The Mystical Silver Crystal. So that is the infinite power that promises eternity. I want to see that girl's face when I smash it to pieces with my own hand."

"Haste makes waste," says Wiseman. "Prince, calm yourself."

"Prince Diamaund," says Safir. "We should not look softly upon the sailor soldiers. We too are suffering unexpected losses. It would be best to proceed with the plan we've put such caution into. But brother, you always do as you please..."

"Safir," says Diamaund. Glass shatters next to Safir, and a shard cuts his cheek. "I am just saying we'll eliminate those who get in the way of our plan," says Diamaund. "I will not allow interference with my methods."

A woman steps forth from the shadows. "My pretty sisters... I, Petz, shall take revenge for Cooan and Beruche. And let us proceed more boldly with the project! We will show them our power.

"Don't be in such a hurry," says Diamaund. "I wish to be alone. Leave this place." He presses a button on a pad, and an image of Selenity dressed in a flowing white gown appears. "I will have everything I want. Everything."

We are now taken back to Mamoru and the others.

"That Chibi-Usa..." says Mamoru. "She even told me to repair it." He sits in the Crown Fruit Parlor with Usagi and Luna. The Luna-P ball sits on the table, beeping. "What part exactly am I supposed to repair, and how? I want to take it apart and look inside, but it doesn't have any seams."

"Everyone's just talking about Chibi-Usa, Chibi-Usa, Chibi-Usa!" says Usagi. "She finally got put into school! I can't believe my mom."

"Didn't you decide to protect that girl?" says Mamoru. "It seems she's become somewhat attached to you lately, Usako."

"Mamo-chan..." says Usagi. "You're assuming that she's definitely not an enemy."

As Usagi and Mamoru continue talking, Asanuma enters the fruit parlor. He looks over. "It's Mamoru-senpai," he thinks. "So he's on a date with his girlfriend..."

"I know it," says Mamoru. "Every time I touch Chibi-Usa, I don't know why, but I get a feeling in my hand. A feeling that she's frightened, that she's depending on me, that she's not an enemy. Is this my power?"

"So maybe Chibi-Usa was attacked by the enemies, and escaped to where we are," says Usagi.

"That time an image streamed into my hand..." says Mamoru. "It was a place I've never seen before."

"It could also be that place is the enemies' territory," says Usagi. "There is the possibility she knows the location Rei-chan and Ami-chan were taken away to."

Asanuma listens behind some foliage. "Taken away!?" he thinks. "Enemies!?"

Luna stares at the Luna-P ball. She nudges it with her paw. The ball bounces and a cloud of smoke fills the air.

"Luna!" says Mamoru.

"Sorry!"

"What on earth are these people...!?" thinks Asanuma.

The three leave the fruit parlor.

Makoto walks inside, wearing a mask over her mouth and coughing. She is coughing and and collapses to Asanuma's and his friend, Unasuki's, shock. They rush to the drug store to get medicine for her, taking her with them. Unazuki tries to bring our Makoto's usual cheer and asks her if she thinks the guy behind the pharmacy counter is cute, but she doesn't notice and says she's going home. Asanuma insists that he'll take her home.

"What's wrong?" says Asanuma. "You're always in perfect health, Mako-chan."

"Nothing," says Makoto. "I just haven't been able to sleep much, and I've had things to investigate, and end up awake all night..."

"Why overexert yourself like that...?" says Asanuma He reaches toward her, and cries out as he feels a shock.

"Oh, you shouldn't touch me now," says Makoto. She smiles weakly. "I have an electrically charged constitution, and it becomes obvious when I get sick. That now was static electricity." She starts swaying back and forth. "You see, since I manipulate thunder and lightning... Oh, I'm getting kind of dizzy..."

"M- Makoto-senpai!? Hold on!" He takes her to her apartment, room 201. The room is full of decorative plants, and there is a framed photograph of Makoto's parents that Asanuma notices. Makoto tells him that her parents were in a plane crash together and she has since lived by herself. She gives him her favorite kind of tea, rose tea. She turns on the television, to see the news speak of strong storms and that more mystery circles were discovered in the city.

Asanuma looks at Makoto and remarks on the strange events happening, and comments on how he even heard a cat talking. Makoto's face fills with alarm at this. Asanuma then confronts Makoto, asking:

"What do they mean Rei-san and Ami-san were taken away!? You have an electrically charged constitution, Makoto-senpai!? What is this power Mamoru-senpai has!? Are you all not human!?"

Makoto grimaces, then smiles calmly. "You look like my best friend from long ago," she says. "Direct and honest. He cared for me with all his heart, but I didn't say a thing. I moved here. I wasn't able to treasure that child very much. I didn't yet have any objectives or things I wanted to do, and I didn't understand the importance of friends. I don't want to remember that time."

She turns to him.

"Mamoru's power is called psychometry. It's the ability to sense everything with the touch of his hand. He doesn't just emit aura power from his fingertips and sense, but he can also actively give others that power as healing or a shock. It is a power ordinary humans don't have, but he is human. As are we. We are destined to fight the enemies. And those who fight with the same destiny, Rei and Ami, we wish to save at any cost. We don't know how they're doing. Being able to meet these allies, for whom I had been searching for a long time, and understanding this... I think of those allies as the most precious things. I will press on for them. I've achieved my objective. I won't be scared by any danger."

She sits down on the floor. "Someday if you have someone you can treasure that much, you'll understand. Those are your friends... The people you love..." She coughs.

"Makoto-san!" says Asanuma. "You're strong. Amazingly strong. All of you are amazing... I want to be strong too. If I, a man, can't be of any help to you, Makoto-san...!" Light glows between them as he takes her hand. "If I had the power," he says, "I would protect you."

She kisses him on the forehead and smiles. He looks at her. "I won't tell anyone." He walks outside into the pouring rain.

Makoto leans back. "Oh no, my mind is getting hazy..."

"This is an official weather warning," says the announcer on television. "There is worry of being hit by a large typhoon." The picture and sound fade into static.

"The TV!?" thinks Makoto. "Is there an electric field?" She looks outside and sees a glowing saucer-shaped object. "What's that!? That light...!? Could it be, a UFO!?" She holds her head. "It looks like that ball of fire that took away Mars and Mercury..." She collapses on the ground.

Usagi looks out the window. "What a storm!" she says. "I wonder what's causing this weather, since so many people have colds..."

"You're really in good health, Usagi-chan," says Luna. "Must be because you sleep so much."

Minako looks at the monitor in the command center. "Usagi-chan?" she says into her headset. "Can you get out for a bit? I can't get in contact with Mako-chan."

Petz stands in front of the glowing disk, with a group of droids behind her. "Letting loose on the wind the malignant virus from this saucer and infecting them," she says. "Soon the seizures should be reaching their peak as well." She faces the droids. "For everyone in this area, their life spans will not last much longer. The time has come for you to replace them. Go forth, droids! Infiltrate human society, and change this society to the society of the Black Moon!" The droids assume the form of humans.

"Such pain... I can't breathe!? Ugh...!?" Makoto opens her eyes and sees her duplicate standing over her, its hands gripping her neck. "It's me!?" She reaches for the communicator on the floor beside her.

"Usagi! Enemies...! Come quickly...!" Makoto throws the duplicate off. "Jupiter Star Power!"

At the same time, Usagi and Minako transform as well and rush to Makoto's aid.

Makoto lifts the duplicate over her head. "If you're going to become me, you'll have to be better than that!" She throws it against the wall, and it reverts to the form of a droid. She looks out the window at the flying saucer. "That disk!!" She runs outside.

"Oh, you failed to die?" says Petz. "How dare you kill my pretty sisters. I am the eldest of the four Ayakashi sisters, Petz, and I shall return it to you a hundredfold."

"Flower Hurricane!" A storm of flowers surrounds her.

"A hurricane of that level?" says Petz. "I'll show you! The power of a tornado called by this earring of the Evil Black Crystal!"

Wind gushes toward Makoto. "Sparkling Wide Pressure!" she shouts. Electricity shoots at Petz. The wind surrounds Makoto, trapping her in the air.

"Jupiter!!" says Usagi. A crowd of people attacks Usagi and Minako. "The people are being manipulated!? Such power! That's not human power!!" A man wraps his hands around Usagi's neck. "The ones who attacked Mercury were like this, too!" she thinks. "At first humans came to attack, but they weren't humans! With my goggles..." She puts her mask over her eyes, and sees the droids taking human form. "I can see!! These things! The enemies... The Black Moon is changing into humans and trying to infiltrate us!?"

"Venus Love-Me Chain!!" She attacks the droids, freeing herself and Usagi.

"Jupiter!?" Makoto is still suspended in the air. "How dare you!!" says Usagi.

"Heh heh," says Petz. "Ahahaha!"

Usagi holds out her rod. "Moon Princess Halation!!"

Petz screams as the light destroys her.

Usagi looks up. "Jupiter!? I can't see anything!! Where is she!?" The glowing saucer rises into the sky. "The light is going away! No, it can't be! Jupiter!?"

Rubeus looks down at her. "That Sailor Moon looks so small," he says. "The prince, too, is one to play a cruel game."

Usagi screams as the saucer flies away. "Jupiter!!"

Thus ends Act 16. We are one act away from the end of Volume 4.

"Jupiter!!" yells Usagi as the craft flies away. It disappears. "Jupiter!!"

"Damnit!" says Artemis. He watches a blank radar screen in the command center. "It's gone! Again! Every time it shows up, we lose it. The Black Moon's saucer... There's no way we can follow it. Where did it come from!?"

Mamoru runs up with Luna. "Sailor Moon!" he calls. "Venus!"

Usagi cries into Minako's arms. "Jupiter!"

"Tuxedo Kamen!" calls Minako. "Luna! I'm sorry, I just got here when it happened. Now they have Jupiter, too..."

They gather underneath the Crown Game Center. Artemis and Luna are examining the black moon earing Petz used to control a hurricane, while Mamoru, Usagi and Minako discuss what their next move shall be. Going back over all their information, of the mustericous crop circles, and the saucers.

"Are they after our planet?" says Minako. "Are they trying to kill us to do it!? We can't let them!"

"They're alive," says Mamoru. "Mars, Mercury, and Jupiter are alive. If they're trying to get rid of us, they should take us to that place."

"But then why are they doing it this way?" says Usagi. "Shouldn't they be after the Mystical Silver Crystal, and Chibi-Usa?"

"This is so bad..." says Minako. "It's like we're at their mercy. I can't stand this anymore. Maybe we can talk to Chibi-Usa, and get some information on the Black Moon. Then we'll find out whose side she's really on."

Usagi, Minako, and Mamoru walk to Usagi's house. Usagi touches her head.

"Usagi, are you okay?" asks Minako.

"Oh, yeah, it's nothing."

Chibi-Usa runs out of the house with a big smile on her face. "Hi everyone!"

They stare at her, surprised.

Usagi's mom comes outside. "Oh, Mina-chan, Mamoru-kun! I'm sorry. Chibi-Usa-chan's being so loud because she has a friend from school over."

"Hey, Usagi!" says Chibi-Usa. "This is Momo-chan! She cooks great!"

"She looks so happy since she's been going to school," says Mamoru.

"She can't be an enemy," says Luna.

He bends down. "Luna, maybe I should take the sample from the earring."

"Okay, Mamo-chan. Well, I'll be in the command center..."

Chibi-Usa's eyes widen, and she jumps back. She screams.

"Chibi-Usa? What's wrong!?"

"Chibi-Usa-chan?"

Mamoru holds the petri dish. "This earring..." he thinks.

"Don't come near me!" says Chibi-Usa.

"She's frightened of the earring from the Evil Black Crystal!?" he thinks.

"Chibi-Usa!?"

Back on the 'flying saucer', we are finally introduced to Esmeraude:

"We must hurry up and deal with the sailor soldiers," says Safir. "Rubeus, we have already lost some valuable soldiers."

"You're all so petty," says a woman in a dark dress.

"Esmeraude!"

"Oh..." she says. "You're scary."

"Safir," says Rubeus. "You're just impatient when everything doesn't go according to plan. You have to expect some... accidents. But, we have the dark star and the Evil Black Crystal. We have nothing to fear. Don't you enjoy having power?"

"The dark star was created... Nemesis... The Mystical Silver Crystal carries as much power as the Evil Black Crystal. The Evil Black Crystal carries infinite power. Using it, we can get everything!"

"We have the Evil Black Crystal," says Safir. "Why should we endanger ourselves going after the Mystical Silver Crystal? The terrible power... When you destroyed that planet... Prince Diamaund, now that dead planet is yours. You don't need to waste any more energy on it."

"We haven't yet seen how magnificent our strength is," says Diamaund. "And I haven't seen the corpse of that planet's ruler. But the planet will surely be ours." He turns around. "Wiseman."

The shrouded image of the Wiseman appears. "If we don't have the Mystical Silver Crystal," says the figure, "the power of the Evil Black Crystal won't become infinite. That putrid stone of the enemy, the Mystical Silver Crystal. The Rabbit will have it. Now is our best chance. The time to get rid of that fake stone forever is approaching. The Black Moon will take it. Then we will rule with the Evil Black Crystal."

"I'm going to my room," says Diamaund.

The other three remain. "The Wiseman..." says Rubeus. "Seems like a suspicious old man. He appeared before us unnoticed. He's a skilled talker, but he may be a false prophet. The prince is completely under his influence."

"The prince has been given unmatched evil power from the Wiseman," says Esmeraude. "Could that be the mark he has?" She pictures a small diamond shape on Diamaund's forehead.

A woman stares at the images of Cooan, Beruche, and Petz. "Sisters," she says. "I'm so sorry... Surely the enemies will do the same to me..."

"Were you connecting with their spirits...?" asks Rubeus as he walks up behind her. He reaches around her waist and kisses her bare shoulder. "I think you've been doing something bad."

"Rubeus-sama!"

"You've been torn apart, but I doubt the five soldiers have been mourning. I want that Sailor Moon to see the crumbled land. I want the planet to be ours soon."

"I am Calaveras, of the spirit medium. I shall accomplish your mission, Rubeus-sama. I will use the power of my sisters, and I'll send a strong message to mankind from the Black Moon. Then we will devote those bodies to us."

Back on earth, in Tokyo, Japan:

Chibi-Usa runs into Mamoru's arms. "Chibi-Usa?"

"Please, tell us what's wrong," says Minako. "Is that earring scaring you? Does it have some secret!?"

Chibi-Usa stares at the black earring sitting in a petri dish. "Because of that stone..." she says, "...my mom was..."

"Because of this stone?" Minako asks. "What happened to your mom?"

"Does it have anything to do with the Black Moon?" asks Usagi, alarmed. "Do they know something!? Tell us, Chibi-Usa!"

"I don't know!" shouts Chibi-Usa. "I don't know!" She cries in Mamoru's arms.

"If it's too hard," he says, "we'll stop."

"Mamo-chan?" thinks Usagi. She stares at them. "I have to be sure," she says. "Do you swear you're not an enemy?"

"It's not true! I'm not an enemy!"

"But..." Usagi says. "If you won't cooperate with us... I don't think I can work with you..." Usagi looks ahead. She turns abruptly and runs away.

Usagi stares out a window in the hall at school. Two girls walk past behind her. "Hey, have you heard about the black..." Usagi whips her head around. "...list of repeat criminals in the area?" the girl continues. Usagi looks back out the window. "Whenever I hear someone say 'black,'" she thinks, "I go crazy. The Black Moon... Since Mako-chan, Ami-chan, and Rei-chan have been gone, my heart's been so weak..."

Naru (Molly) watches Usagi sadly. She walks up and hugs her. "Usagi," she says. "Let's eat lunch in the audio-visual room. There's an interesting video playing."

Umino (Melvin) shows up and joins them, putting a tape on channeling into the vcr. In 'channeling' a medium (a person in tune with the spirit world) uses her body as a vessel by which spirits can talk through. An image appears on the tv. Calaveras is sitting on a couch, her head bent down. "I'm getting a bad feeling from this..." thinks Usagi.

"I am the world-famous channeler, Miss Calaveras. I have entered into a trance state. Now I will begin the interview." She is quiet for a moment. "Who are you?" she asks.

Light starts to glow around her. "'I am Rubeus, of the Black Moon,'" she says. "'I have come from a great distance. I am very close to you. We are neither enemies nor invaders. We have come to guide you earthlings to the correct path.'"

"The Black Moon!?" gasps Usagi. "What is this? It can't be right! They are enemies!! What are they saying!?"

"Usagi-san," says Umino. "Are you all right? She's the transmitter of the message. The channeling source has no physical body."

Usagi turns and runs off. Naru watches her go. "Usagi... Whenever she hears 'Black Moon,' her face turns pale. Actually, the first time I saw her, I noticed something different about her. It's like she has so much on her mind. Oh, Usagi..."

Calaveras sits next to the host of the show 'Channeling Session.'

"The people of Earth are worried," he says. "They want your help. They don't want Earth to be taken over."

"Well..." says Calaveras. "Medicine and hospitals are no good. Only trust yourself. From now on, don't accept anyone's control. Earth belongs to mankind."

"Miss Calaveras," the host says. "Is there a real possibility of an alien invasion?"

"Yes," she says. "I can channel well. The ones from the Black Moon are coming. If some misfortune befalls the ones from the white moon, I will see it. The unhappy future of Earth was defeated on the white moon."

Artemis watches the television with Minako. "'The white moon...'" he says. "This... This looks like it could be brainwashing people. Or maybe she's telling the truth..."

Calaveras announces a channeling featival this weekend in the city and invites all to attend. Artemis announces that it might be a trap, Minako exclaims that it is a declaration of war to them, and they cannot ignore it.

At the same time, Kotono,and Asanuma are watching the program and both worry over Rei and Makoto and the fact that it was the Black Moon that stole them

Mamoru turns off the TV. He stands up and walks to a glass case on a table. Inside are four worn-out stones. He opens the lid and sits back in a chair. He closes his eyes. Energy begins to flow around him, glowing. The stones rise into the air, and his four lords appear, bowing to him.

"Master..."

"Kunzite," says Mamoru. "Jadeite, Nephrite... Zoisite... I've had a foreboding premonition. I was thinking about our new enemies. They've been moving fast. We got this from them." He holds up the container holding Petz's dropped earring. "I can feel a space-time distortion coming from this stone. What's causing it...? I don't know. Smells like trouble."

"Master," Kunzite says. "We will support your power. And with your power, protect her. The princess."

"My power...? I have no power... That's how I feel sometimes. Why was I reborn here? Protecting her... That's what the four soldiers are for. But they need me to do it. I'm powerless. I can't protect her. I don't know what's happened to me."

"Master... We believe in you. In your strength. You were reincarnated. The princess will become queen, and you will become king. That is the path you have begun. Don't forget that. You must not lose your confidence. The princess depends on you."

Chibi-Usa peers through the doorway. Usagi is asleep in bed. She sees Usagi's school uniform hanging in the closet. She notices the brooch attached to the bow of the suit.

Usagi groggily opens her eyes. "Wh- who's there...?"

The room is empty. She looks over and sees the bow on her school clothes untied, the brooch missing. She sits up. "My transformation brooch!? It's gone!?"

A large audience gathers at the public channeling session. Calaveras leans back in her chair on stage, her eyes closed. "Now Earth is entering into the Age of Aquarius," she says. "It is the beginning of the cosmic millennium. It will be an era of change."

"Usagi!?" calls Minako, through her wrist communicator. "What's going on!?"

"V-chan!?" Usagi says. "It was stolen! My brooch!"

"What!?"

"I bet it was Chibi-Usa," she says. "I'm going to catch her and take it back!"

"Through these changes," says Calaveras, "we want to guide Earth on the correct path." She channels the spirit of Rubeus. "Don't trust the ones from the white moon. They only want to bring misfortune, using the Mystical Silver Crystal. Don't bow to the white moon. Destroy the crystal!"

The audience falls under a spell. They stand up, angry.

"Entrust your future to the Black Moon," she says.

"She's a fraud! She's cheating you!" Minako runs into the room in her sailor suit.

"Perfect," says Calaveras. "So you've come to see my channeling? It's very interesting, Sailor Venus."

Minako sees three members of the audience begin to glow. "Naru-chan!? Asanuma-kun!? Chief Kotono!?"

Their heads drop. Three spirits rise from their bodies: the spirits of Ami, Makoto, and Rei.

"Venus..." they call. They scream and twist in pain. The images fade away.

"Mars!? Jupiter!? Mercury...!" yells Minako.

Three new spirits appear: Beruche, Petz, and Cooan. Calaveras stands in front of them. "We are the four sisters! Spirit Energy Attack!!"

Power blasts from them at Minako, engulfing her. She screams in pain. "My body!! It's being torn apart!! This is still the age of the love of Pisces!"

"The goddess of love, Venus. You will be defeated. And about now, Rubeus-sama is dealing with the Rabbit and Sailor Moon."

"Oh no! Usagi!!"

"V-chan!!" says Usagi. "I've got to get there soon." She walks down the street. "There she is! Chibi-Usa!!"

Chibi-Usa turns around, alarmed. She holds Usagi's brooch.

"I knew you stole it!" Usagi says. "Give it back!"

Chibi-Usa clutches it against her chest.

"Come on, now!"

The Luna-P ball bounces on the ground between them.

A blast hits the ground, and they jump out of the way. "Oh, you're quick," says Rubeus, appearing in the air. "As should be expected of the Rabbit and Sailor Moon. But not quick enough to escape!" He raises his arm and a surge of power shoots at the two.

"Mamo-chan!!" Usagi cries.

Mamoru jumps forward and carries Usagi and Chibi-Usa away from the attack. He turns around and thrusts his cane at Rubeus. It hits his face and cuts it.

Rubeus holds his hand to the cut. "You... injured me... I am Crimson Rubeus, and now I'll show you the true power of my flames."

"Oh no!" thinks Usagi.

"He'll defeat us!" thinks Mamoru.

"Use your power. Only you can protect the two of you!"

"I feel it," Mamoru thinks, as he watches Rubeus gathering energy. "Your help..."

"Focus all your strength at him... Then shout!"

"Who is that!?" he thinks. "The voice is familiar..." He holds up his arms. "My power... in my hands..."

"Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber!" Energy fires at Rubeus, knocking him back.

"Damn!" Rubeus says. "It's wiping out my flames!" Rubeus disappears.

"My power..." thinks Mamoru. "That voice..."

"Chibi-Usa!" calls Usagi. She snatches the brooch from the girl's hands and throws it into the air. "Moon Crystal Power, Make Up!"

"Venus!" she yells. "I won't let you have her!" She takes out the moon rod. "Moon Princess Halation!!" Energy crackles around Calaveras as she's ripped apart in a brilliant burst of light.

"Sailor Moon!"

Usagi runs up to her. "Venus! You're all right!"

"Chibi-Usa!?" says Minako.

Mamoru holds the girl, his cape draped over her shoulders.

"Chibi-Usa," Usagi says. "My brooch... Why did you take the Mystical Silver Crystal? Where were you running away to?"

Chibi-Usa looks up at Usagi. "I know... I have to get the pieces of the crystal... I can't use it... I learned that only the crystal of the past could do it. Having the Mystical Silver Crystal of the past and the Mystical Silver Crystal of the future together is dangerous... It's dangerous, but with those two... With that power, I might be able to save it... So I came here." She holds the silver crystal hanging from her necklace.

Usagi gasps. "The Mystical Silver Crystal of the past... and the Mystical Silver Crystal of the future!? Chibi-Usa, what are you saying!?"

"Save it, Sailor Moon!! Save the future Earth... of the 30th century!"
