Before Sailor Moon was ever a cartoon/anime it was a manga (Japanese Comic). From its immense popularity,
animators made it into an anime, and in the process changed MANY things. They made Mamoru often look like a weak, powerless, insensitive jerk and
made Usagi look like a whiny, crybaby ditz, made Rei boy crazy and Mina a ditz as well.
They even made Zoicite gay (in Dic he became a SHE).
Alex Glover is the man who
translated all of the Japanese Sailor Moon manga into english. A long time
ago he gave me his translations and he has given me permission to use them
on UsagiandMamoru.com.
He says it is fine with him because I excerpt from the manga
and include content of my own.
K.J. Karvonen a representative
from TOKYOPOP/MIXX COMICS who translates the Japanese manga into english for Mixx Comics
has also said the translations/summaries are fine because they are not like the MIXX/TOKYOPOP
translations.

This translation is placed on my own shrine to Rei, titled after her
favorite flowers, Casablancas.
Volume 11: The Lover of Princess Kaguya
The animators made this into the SuperS movie where Luna falls in love
with a human named Kakeru but even with this simple story, they were not
faithful to the manga story. Many things are different, Read for yourself

Exam Special #1: Makoto/Jupiter
The girls are studying for the entrance exams to get into Hana Girl's
School. Join them in their adventures. This was never animated.
Exam Special #2: Ami's First Love
This was animated but I do not know how faithful to the manga it was. Ami
keeps being tied with a boy named Mercurius and now Ami seems to have
fallen in love with the guy.
Exam Special #3
Mina and Rei fight and Mina tries to get into Rei's private girl's school
- never animated.
Diary #1
From Manga Vol. 5, this tells of Chibi Usa's first days at school and of the mysterious disappearances
of school children - could it be the work of vampires?
Diary #2 - Legend of the Tatanaba Festival
Tells of Chibi Usa and the senshi's adventures with a legendary couple who had a long distance
love affair - kinda touching and sweet :)
Diary #3 - Cavities and Dentists!
Usagi and Chibi Usa both have cavities! Join their crazy adventures at the dentists!
Diary #4 - The Hammer Price Shrine
An expensive "pawn shop" selling designer items is under threat of destruction - when an evil spirit attacks,
the senshi come to the rescue!
