Serena Dwyer Okay....This is my second fanfic entitled "Painful Memories". It has absolutely NOTHING to do with my first fanfic entitled "Return of the Nega-Creeps". If it wasn't about the anime Sailormoon and weren't written by me, it would have absolutely NOTHING in common with my first fanfic. Anyway, This is my favorite out of all the fanfics I've written (Yes, I've written more I just haven't typed them up before now), so I hope you like it as much as I do. The show, manga and characters all belong to people in big offices and have no time for the likes of me. I'm just a lowly fan who likes to write. Painful Memories-Chapter 1 "Mars Fire Sniper!" "Mercury Aqua Rhapsody!" "Venus Love Shock!" "Jupiter Oak Evolution!" The Droid was on the brink of collapse. It treid to stand but quickly found a pale red rose embeded in it's chest. It wasn't very powerful, but it was enough. The droid gave one last battle cry as it disintegrated into dust. "It was harder that time guys." Mars said while breathing heavily. "Yes, it almost finished us that time!" Mercury said. "Ever since Serena left a year ago...."Jupiter trailed off remembering Tuxedo Mask was still with them in the park. Tuxedo Mask quickly looked away, tears threatening to invade his crystal blue eyes once again, and remembered his one true love. ^*^Flashback^*^ "Darien, at least *tell me* why you don't love me anymore!" Serena pleaded with him. Darien was almost at the breaking point. He couldn't go on much longer like this. If he had to turn his back on her for much longer he'd go insane. How he longed to hold her frail body in his arms and reassure her that they'd never have to be apart ever again and that everything would be okay. He wished that he could tell her he loved her and only her....if he could just kiss her....But no. 'It's for her own good' he told himself. He turned away from her and said coldly the first thing that popped into his head. "I love Rei." It's amazing how three simple words can either make a person jump for joy, or tear them apart completely. To anyone else, these words would be totally and utterly harmless. To the fragile blonde that stood before him, however, it wreaked her entire universe. She turned and ran, and ran. She ran for hours until finding that she had run in circles, then she collaspsed, sobbing. She picked herself up and made her way to her house on the other side of Tokyo, balking half the way, then starting to run again. The running was like therapy to her. It helped her to forget everything. Everything except the wind rushing past her ears and the burning in her legs and lungs. Maybe, just maybe, the physical pain would erase all the emotional pain she was feeling inside. She rushed upstairs to her bedroom and flung herself on her bed where she cried herself into a fitful sleep...... "Oh Mother!" the excited Moon Princess bubbled. "It will be so wonderful and everyone will be happy and of course it will be beautiful! I just can't wait!" She was talking to the Queen of the Moon and the Universe, her mother, about her wedding to the earth prince. They had met at a Moon-Earth function, and had immediately fallen in love. Now, 5 years later, they were arranging the plans for the wedding, after he had proposed to her a month ago. "Yes dear, but now you must rest. We'll talk about it more tomorrow morning. The plans are almost finished and the final touches will be made. But that's all for *tomorrow*." the Queen told her daughter patiently. "But mother....I'm not even *yawn* tired!" Princess Serenity told her mother as she drifted off to sleep. As one dream ended, another, darker dream took it's place. "Where is Tuxedo Mask?" Sailor Moon demanded of Queen Beryl. Beryl smiled evily as she said "Prince Endymion, rise." Light was shed on her right side and showed Sailor Moon that Tuxedo Mask as her beloved Prince Endymion, was kneeling at Queen Beryl's side, kissing her hand. He rose and awaited his orders. "I want that Emperium Silver Crystal." "Yes, my queen." He turned towards Sailor Moon and she gasped. His eyes, his eyes were filled with hatred....hatred for her? They fought and the evil in her beloved quickly decided that killing her would be the quickest route to getting the crystal. He raised his sword above his head, ready to bring down the final blow. Serena awoke with a start. A cold sweat had broken out across her forehead and her eyes were red and raw from crying. It hurt to blink. She was breathing heavily and had to take a moment to catch it. *I love Rei* The words echoed in her head, resounding again and again. She shook her head to try to make it go away, but it kept repeating itself. 'Fine! If he wants to be with Rei, then I won't stop him! But there's no way I'm sticking around to watch it happen either!' She got out of bed and started to pack, throwing all her nessescities into a few bags. She threw in clothes, toiletries, money, her passport, and pictures (a whole album to be exact) she might get frames later. All the while she was packing, she was careful not to wake Luna, or her family. Fortunately, it was extremely hard to wake Luna by now. After training herself to sleep through getting kicked in the middle of the night, NOTHING woke her up now except her internal alarm clock. 'I'll leave notes for my family and friends just to let them know I'm okay.' She quickly finished packing and sat down at her desk and started to write: Dear Mom, Dad and Sammy, I love you all so much, but I can't stay. I might be back someday, but please try not to worry about me, I'll be okay. I can take care of myself now. I just have to get a few things straightened out on my own. If I can I'll try to keep in touch. Good-bye! (for now) Love, Serena Dear Ami, Rei, Lita, Mina, Luna and Artimus, What can I say? It's because of *him*. I just can't take it anymore! Carry on without me you guys....I know you can do it! I might be back someday if I can get everything sraightened out....it depends. I love you all! Love, Serena P.S. Rei, I'm not mad at you (for once! :) ) Darien says he loves you and if you want to be with him then it's okay with me. Just make sure he doesn't hurt you. He said he loved me before too. Oh, and Luna, Please try not to be too mad at me! Darien, Are you *happy*? I'm gone and out of your hair. Have a rotten life and if you hurt Rei the way you hurt me, I'll personally come back and rip out your heart....that's if you have one of course. Then what will happen? Will you move on to Ami next??? Well, bye. Serena. Dear Rini, It was nice knowing you. Try not to get too attached to Darien, he'll probably just end up hurting you too. I want to tell you something, and I'm trusting you not to tell anyone else. I'm Sailor Moon. From there you can probably figure out who the rest of them are, even Tuxedo Mask. We lived on the Moon once and we were supposed to get married. His name was Endymion and mine was Serenity. But then something happened. Beryl attacked and almost defeated us. The only way to save the Universe was for my mother to send us all to the future where we could have another chance at life, and even love. What a joke. I should've been born in some far off place like Canada. Anyway, I hope you can understand why I'm leaving. If you need to talk to someone, I suggest the other scouts, they'll give you the erst of the information. Who knows? I might be back someday....if I am, I'll give you a call! Love, Serena Serena didn't know why but she felt some stange connection to the little flamingo haired kid. She paused and thought about it for a while, but then realizing she had to get out of there she shook herself mentally and left. She was already dressed, not taking the time to get ready for bed that night. Counting her money, she decided she had enough money to last her a couple months, but just in case, she took her little hoard of food she always kept under her bed. She took a deep breath as she looked at her room one last time before leaving. She shut the door and left, heading in the direction of the boat terminal.
